Very clever idea with with quality that makes it useless- review updated- see the end
Bought this on June 24th. Used it a few times for a day hike. Just used it a couple of days ago, and... no matter how hard I tighten the cap, it leaks if I gently squeeze it. No O-ring in the design- just mating plastic edges that are apparently not good enough to make a seal. So I have to throw away $25 as I throw this in the trash...Too bad- it has other features that are a big plus- like the wide mouth that makes it quicker to clean and dry, and the fold-up feature that is nice for storage, but can't use it if it won't seal.Update: contacted cust service at hydra pak re their warranty- they made it a bit hard but they did end up sending me a replacement. So far, it's not leaking, so I added a star.

This is my favorite of my 3 different collapsible bottles. Its bottom is hard plastic, so it stands up stably even when not completely full--a flaw in one of my other bottles. it packs down so flat, it takes up hardly any space. It's absolutely great for travel, whether you are going through an airport, or climbing up Mayan pyramids, or slogging through the South American jungle. This one has a permanent place in my backpack.

I purchased both Stash and a Stow from Hydropack. (I hand washed them prior to my trip).

No leaks over the 2 weeks of hiking/traveling, and the water tasted like water after the first use (no smell or weird taste). I hand washed on occasion. (I was not in a hot place, so the water did not get warm where it may more easily leach things from the bottle).

Using both bottles was easy enough - though I would say both are 2-hand bottles since there is little support due to the collapsable nature.

After returning from my trip, I washed both the Stash and the Stow on the top shelf of our dishwasher using the 'normal' cycle. After doing so, I checked the integrity of the water seal and unfortunately, the Stash leaks profusely at the screw top. It does not take much pressure to force water to spill out. It's not a lot, but it is annoying. The Stow (500ml flask), however remains solid - no leaks after 1 machine wash.

I was quite surprised with how much I love this water bottle. Reading the reviews I had low expectations (need to use two hands to drink out of, leaves a chemical after taste, lid doesn't stay attached like a nalgene).

Well. I can drink this thing pretty much until it's empty with one hand, I just hold it close to the water level as it gets lower. The chemical aftertaste is real though! I filled it with water and let it sit for 24 hours then dumped it out and repeated that two more times and the taste was gone. So just be prepared to rinse it out for a few days before you start using it.

It stands up really well on it's own no matter how much water is in it. It folds up very easy and was so great to travel with. I would go for a short hike and just bring my very small bag, it was so great to be able to fold this up and store it once it's empty!! Not to mention, when going through the airport it was excellent to have a water bottle that stored so small. Nalgene lids stay attached which is nice for not dropping it, but I actually don't like having to hold it away from my face when it drink otherwise it bumps me. I prefer a lid that detaches completely as it turns out, so that ended up being a plus!

I left this behind at my hotel by accident and immediately was set to buy another one, however someone found it and agreed to mail it back to me, so I don't need to just now. But, I would buy this a second time in a heartbeat!

It does what it is meant to, but once the bottle is even less that 75% full, it starts to lose its stability and becomes a bit awkward to remove the lid and drink from. It becomes very east for the bottle flop a little, creating spills. However, when empty and not in use, it does collapse into a small easy to stash size.

I saw lots of reviews with taste problems and was concerned as I am super sensitive to smells and tastes. After washing it (as one should before using) it was fine. Perhaps this problem has been resolved by the manufacturer? I will try storing water in it for a bit for a test. I love the idea of collapsing to reduce bulk when it is empty. Very handy to pack.

I liked the compactness of the product and the way it folded down. Its the main reason I bought it. Unfortunately, after heading out to Europe and using it for the first time 2 weeks after purchasing, I filled it with plain bottled water. After a few hours, I noticed that the water now had a foul taste and smell. I still had some of the bottled water left and tried it by itself. It was fine no odor or taste. I emptied the Hydrapak and the smell was quite evident. I though this was a BPA free product. I got back from Europe and the window for returns had closed. Very disappointing performance for a premium price product. Do not waste your money on this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars La mejor botella para viajes
