Rhodes

Invented by Harold Rhodes, the Rhodes piano has become one of the most popular and ubiquitous electric pianos of all time, its distinctive sounds being found on countless recordings in the '70s and beyond. Born from a piano-based therapeutic program to rehabilitate soldiers recovering from combat, the miniaturized electric piano, which would go on to evolve into the Rhodes piano, was far more compact and transportable. In 1959, Rhodes and Fender entered into a joint venture, which produced the Rhodes as we know it today: the Fender Rhodes. Shop vintage Rhodes pianos and parts on Reverb today.
