Otherwise this is a pretty great motherboard.
Overall, this motherboard was extremely easy and nice to work with as a first time builder. The places you’re supposed to put screws in (on top of the standoffs) have highlights on them, so it’s easy to see. The pcie tab is relatively easy to push down, the ram was easy to install (the channels are both gray). I had no problems with this motherboard and the manual came in handy many times. It doesn’t have a shield, nor does it need one, as it has one built in.
This motherboard feels high quality and well made. My system is running perfectly with this in it. I love it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to build with am5.
This MB will not start if both CPU & compatible RAM are installed, no any sound/visual indicator for that, which is not the same as ASUS tech support said, ASUS tech support person said if CPU is not installed, a red led will light up. from my experiences, nothing will happen
The solution? I bought an ASRock motherboard and it's been fine. This product is trash, and ASUS should be ashamed for making it. I've been building computers since 1988, and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. Absolute junk. And the ASRock board? Not only does it "just work", it's got a 100% better UI for the BIOS. ASUS bios still feels like it's 1990..
I would not recommend. I don't even know what to do with this trash. This *probably* cost me $400 because of me not knowing WHAT exactly is wrong; I spent $1200 on a GPU and based on it constantly crashing, I went all out and spent $1700 on another, then the board just decided a permanent reboot loop at 15 seconds due to USB issues (with NO usb plugged in) was how it wanted to go.
Maybe I just got a bad board, but if you google ASUS motherboard, I sure don't seem to be the only one. 100% money wasted
Edit: sent to ASUS for repair, they refuse warranty repair claiming there is a bent CPU pin, which is somehow my fault. They want $130 to repair it, at which point they will send a replacement. I didn't bend it, it came that way. I can't even imagine what you could do to bend one (1) pin and not affect any of the ones around it. So apparently they aren't QCing their boards and blame the customer. I'm 100% out the $220 I spent on this board, they wanted to kick it up to $350, and on top of that, I had to pay $25 to send it in for an RMA they denied. Do not do business with ASUS. I'll be looking into litigation over this one.

PREVIOUS REVIEW:
I bought this board towards the end of Nov 2022 for a 7600X/3070Ti/Corsair white gaming build so I've had this for a few months now.
Previously (AM4), I bought Asus boards and didn't have any issues. So I thought I'd go with Asus again. The price was quite steep for a new socket (AM5/DDR5) as expected but again I trusted Asus and liked the way this board looks with is silver heatsinks for my white build so I bought it anyway.
My issue with this board is that RAM compatibility is quite bad, especially if you are going for white build with Corsair RAM. At the time of this review (06/2023) according to the Asus website the ONLY Corsair kit on their QVL list for this motherboard at 6000MT (which according to AMD is the "sweet spot") is the CMT32GX5M2D6000C36. Which is only available in a black colorway. I guess I should have done more research on this but if I had known this prior to purchase I would not have bought this board.
This board is advertised right here on Amazon as "Strix B650-A is primed and ready for enthusiast-grade kits courtesy of vast AMD EXtended Profiles for Overclocking (EXPO) support." I would hardly call one 6000 Corsair kit (which is actually XMP) and 4 actual EXPO kits at any speed/timings (see screenshot) as "vast". Maybe this will improve in the future, and Corsair can do more to get on Asus' QVL list or release more Expo kits in a white colorway, but only time will tell.
I ended up purchasing a 6000MT CL36 white Corsair kit, CMH32GX5M2D6000C36W. Which from the start gave me BSODs and all kinds of crashes and errors using the DOCP profile. I thought I had a bad stick of RAM so I ran memtest at stock speeds (as recommended by Corsair for RMA) but the tests, which took forever BTW, all passed. I updated to the latest bios, version 1616 at the time of writing and the board refuses to boot at anything other than "Auto". So I tweaked the settings manually setting the speed to 5600 with 36 36 36 76 timings. No issues.
If you are thinking of going past 6000MT then I also wouldn't recommend this board only 3 6200 kits (XMP) from TeamGroup are on the QVL list and 5 6400MT kits from other brands that I can't find for sale on Amazon or NewEgg.
This board supports a decent amount of 5600MT kits. So if you are fine sticking with 5600MT then this is a fine board.
Overall, the board is great if you plan on building out a black colorway PC, are fine with mostly 5600MT ram support, or don't mind mixing and matching brands (and their RGB software).
But for me it's just "OK". I wanted a white build where iCue handled all the RGB and it's mostly there with a few sacrifices.
