A Missing Woman.

A Sadistic Serial Killer.

And a Texas Ranger Running out Of Time....

“Just when you think you know what's going to happen, she plunges you down another dark and deliciously creepy path.” (Lisa Regan, USA Today best-selling author of Her Silent Cry)

Shortly after a young mother mysteriously disappears, a serial killer begins leaving corpses and clues across the Texas Hill Country. Texas Ranger Faith McClellan and her mentor, veteran Ranger Archie Baxter, are assigned to the case.

This killer is more clever - and sadistic - than any they’ve ever encountered, and the list of seemingly unrelated female victims is growing by the day - an attorney, a pastor, a stay-at-home mom. The murders feature similar injuries, with a cryptic message carved into each corpse. But these gruesome calling cards provide more questions than answers, and with the best coroner in the state unable to identify the murder weapon, investigators are flying blind.

With the young mother still missing and a mounting body count, it’s up to Faith and Archie to solve the mystery. Before the killer strikes again....

Praise:

“....a tight, wonderfully-complex plot.... and Texas Ranger Faith McClellan is a capable, shining heroine you’ll love to root for.” (Jeff Carson, nationally best-selling author of the David Wolf series)

“....bodacious, kick-ass drama....” (Dru Ann Love, Dru’s Book Musings)

"Leave No Stone is without a doubt her best book to date.... Faith McClellan is fast becoming a fan favorite with a loyal following.” (Raven Award Winner Kristopher Zgorski, BOLO Books)

You just gotta have Faith!

It starts with Texas Ranger Faith McClellan investigating the disappearance of a young single mother. The more that Faith digs into the woman’s life, the less leads she seems to find. When Faith is ordered to shelf the case and assist her mentor, Archie Baxter, on the kidnapping and murders of several women…the cases surprisingly seem to connect with her missing mom. In the race to save Lindsey, will Faith win? Good story…also enjoy the sub-story of Faith’s love life.

Story is good but...

The narration drives me crazy. It is fine for faith's voice but the rest grate at my ears. I am not sure if I can listen to another in this series.

Great story! Please fix “Bexar” so it’s authentic

The accents and performance are very good...except when the narrators for Faith and Archie, who are Texans, pronounce Bexar County (sounds like “bear”, and any Texan would know that) NOT Bex like Rex. Love the story and every other book I have read by this author.

mispronounced

When performing a novel set in a place you don't know, do a little research on how to say the county name. The mispronunciation of the word Comal drove me nuts!

Pronunciation is so bad!

Anyone from Texas is cringing at the way the narrator pronounces a lot of the counties and some cities/towns. She really needs to do some research on the names....Comal and Bexar are the worst, but there are others. The story is good, but I think i would have liked it better if I read it rather than listened to it.

A pattern emerges..

I’ve gulped down a couple of these books. They are filled with twists and turns — a little hard to follow even. There is little to no B story - no time for a saccharine romance or epiphanies about the heroines childhood. The story is read quickly—like the reader is trying to add excitement through the pacing of her words. And I’ve been following along. But the endings have been so disappointing. She likes to put the blame on victims turned crazy by abuse. So whether the subject is electroshock treatments for gay youth or sex trafficking children — the villain is never the perpetrator of the abuse but rather a crazy vigilante victim of the abuse who has morphed into a monster thus preserving the status quo. I’m left with the impression that the worst outcome of violence against children is that they sometimes turn into serial killers. Leaves a bad taste in m head. Seems like a real stretch when the real life perpetrators of all the abuse are so plentiful and most often are simply victimizing children for their own amusement.

Fair addition to the series

A little slower than the first one but a good addition to the series. Progressive as far as the main characters go. Still wish she would close out secondary pieces a bit better. Save some of that long winded wording for the end to close out some things and add color to some stories.
