Build a high-performance, low-noise PC that looks good anywhere
Sometimes you need to build a monster rig that doesn’t look – or sound -- like one. Instead, you need a case that offers you the flexibility that installing your top-of-the-line hardware requires, but without all the visual spectacle of the more hardcore models.
The Carbide Series 100R Silent Edition Mid Tower case does exactly that. The sleek, understated design aesthetic looks like 'serious business,' while the sound damping side panels, adjustable cooling fans, USB 3.0 support and tool-free access door all say 'serious gaming power.'

Simple, elegant, and sharpIt’s the performance PC platform in stealth mode. With a mesh-free front panel and clean, understated lines, the 100R Silent Edition is both professional enough for the office and customizable enough for any home PC build. |
Keep it quietThe side panels are insulated with noise-isolating materials to reduce noticeable fan noise. This essential if you’re building a media PC, and just plain nice if don’t want your system to contribute to environmental noise. |
3-Speed fan controllerThe secret to silent PC design is putting you in control. Keep the three-speed fan controller at its lowest setting for silent operation. When it’s time to push your system hard, take it up a notch or two for on-demand cooling. |
Storage, simplifiedThe simplicity begins with tool-free 3.5” and 5.25” drive installation, and all four hard drive trays provide solid-state drive support so you can mix and match to fit your needs. On the outside, dual USB 3.0 front panel ports give you quick and easy access to the latest high-speed portable hard drives and flash drives. |

So this case is wicked quiet as stated above, it doesn't need more fans if you are not gaming with a powerful GPU and CPU. It looks really nice sitting on a table and feels like it is showing off when it really isn't. It's classy and refined saying "Hey, I'm here and I don't need to show off my fancy equipment to feel good about myself.". The one thing that is off is the front panel is plastic and doesn't look really in place, that isn't a major problem just a little tick against them.
For the price this case is simply amazing and I would recommend it to someone who has a ok budget size, it is not too pricey and for that you actually get quite a lot. This case has room for a mid size GPU, though I do not think my GTX 780 Classified or anything larger would fit in this case due to the HDD rack. It is a mid size tower, but it is on the small side of mid size. That isn't a problem if you are running a ITX or anything, but the stand offs are already in place and I needed to get a tool from my garage to actually remove them as they were really really in there. It's good if you are running an ATX since they are in place and ready for you but I ran a ITX and had to remove most, and with that there is one part of the board I could not connect and secure down due to Cable management cut out.
This leads to my biggest problem with this case. My biggest thing I do not like about this case is the Cable management, there really is not a great amount of room and the foam which keeps this so quiet is in the way. If you want to even run just you basic PSU (non modular) 24pin connector behind the motherboard wall, you will need to squish just a big of foam. So that being against them, this case also had a little problem running an ITX and cable management, but that being not such a used motherboard in a mid tower, it's understandable. So not a big deduction from them.
All in all, I love corsair, I support them a ton and I have never been truly disappointed in them. This case shows why they make people so happy, they provide a really good item at not the biggest price ever. They could charge more for this case but they don't.
For a Entry level builder I'd say this is one of the best cases to start with.

Three things that sold me on this particular case: feet that raises it off the floor in case he puts it on carpet or something, a 5.25” bay exists in this one because he still uses cd’s, and a flat top that has no holes because my family likes to use computers as little tables—which I do as well. This case is also very quiet and not very “flashy” like those in-wins or Lian Li’s. Also, no glass!
Downsides? Not much space in the back for cable management, so I suggest a musical power supply. Also there isn’t the most space for a large cpu cooler. A hyper 212 evo works in it though.
I would recommend this of case to a starter builder, a build you won’t be upgrading anytime soon.

I'm rating it only 4 stars for two reasons; one, I purchased this in conjunction with Corsair's liquid CPU cooler. The wiring and switch for the case fans fail to take into consideration this combination, and there's no documentation concerning best practice on how to plug in all the various different fan (and pump) headers in this configuration.
Second, said liquid cooler required that you remove and replace your motherboard in order to install a plate underneath the motherboard to mount the cooler on the CPU. It wouldn't have taken a genius engineer to make the bottom of the CPU accessible by removing the back side of the case. Half of it is exposed already. Had anyone in Corsair's design team actually ever installed their cooler, in this case, they'd have immediately seen the need and made the opening under the motherboard large enough to accommodate their own hardware.
The cooler block and fan assembly also sit exactly over the CPU power plug on my motherboard. This required me to mash the plug fown awkwardly under the fan housing, and makes it pretty much impossible to remove and replace said plug without first removing the fan assembly. The housing also traps the motherboard in the case, so that if you need to replace either the power supply or the motherboard, you'd have to remove the cooler housing first.
Another (trivial, I admit, but quite noticeable flaw) - the front jacks are incredibly rough. As in, it feels as if I'm shaving metal off my headphone plug every time I plug them in rough. Not sure how exactly you'd go about messing up a headphone jack, seems a pretty standard thing, but apparently for my case at least, Corsair managed to find standard jacks that are a bit out of tolerance.
I'm quite pleased with this case all in all. It is indeed, somewhat quieter than the case that it replaced. It looks clean, it's solid and tight. I'd buy it again.
