Life sucker-punched me...
I have family I didn’t know about, a magical heritage laying its claim, and a mystery I apparently need to solve.
There are three things I love most in life…my wild and crazy Irish family, Redbreast Whiskey at Shenanigans, and living in Toronto.
Having grown up with five older brothers, I can fight my way out of most situations, either with my wicked sense of humor or my fists. Often both. But when a back-alley brawl leaves me marked with a bizarre Celtic crest on my back, I become a beacon for all things whacked and weird.
My dad is obviously freaked when he sees the tat, but he won’t discuss it.
So, I do what any stubborn red-headed lass would—I ignore all advice and fly to the Emerald Isle to get answers.
And yeah…you know that saying about hindsight being 20/20?
True Story.
Look out, druid world. This mac Cumhaill is like no other.
Will Fiona survive coming into her powers? Will those in Ireland survive Fiona? Can Toronto survive an urban druid and her mythical bear?

About the authors
Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!

But whether Romance or not, she loves to twist Alpha heroes and kick-ass heroines into chaotic, hilarious, fast-paced, magical situations and make them really work for their happy endings.

I enjoyed it until the dog died and she did not understand the pain and heartbreak the owner felt, yes it was a great way to get the house empty, but I realized this was not someone that I could care about. She is a good person, who cares about her circle and I could not connect.
Second disappointed was the child who made a wish for a unicorn. Sure the unicorn had to be moved, but what happened to the broken hearted child, she was important.
As long as the story stuck with her circle it was good.
Speaking of action, the series offers plenty of it. Even though Fi is the superhero, she needs her boyfriend, family, and friends to save the day. Even the animals enhance the story. The author paints such a good picture of the animals and their characters that I can easily picture them in my mind (I never thought I’d love a precious little skunk or a ferocious grizzly bear so much). I like the intense struggles Fi has to overcome as she develops her Druid identity and powers.
Another compelling part of the series is the dive into historical places. Book 7, An Immortal’s Pain, was probably my favorite book because the story took place in Ancient Greece. The author brought various members of the pantheon to life as Fiona and her brother selflessly battled through several trials on behalf of a friend. Fi is the kind of friend I’d like to have and be.
I probably didn’t do the series justice in my review. Nevertheless, I’d recommend this book. If you want action, magic, character development, PG~13 romance, or just a fun-filled adventure, this series is for you. Thank you Auburn Tempest and Michael Anderle for enriching my imagination. I love the series and crave more episodes of adventure and hilarity. Blessings!
My questions go on and on. When I started this series, I wasn’t sure how far I would read. but after a slow start connecting with Fiona, I couldn’t help, but become mesmerized by the family—and all the other supernaturals she encounters.
I normally don’t care for alternative world episodes, but the jaunt to ancient Greece had me on the edge of my seat. I didn’t want to stop reading as the adventure incorporated so many fascinating characters: Dionysus, Hecate, Themis, Arachne, the fates, some self absorbed Demigods and then some marauders trying to sabotage Nikon’s family. Before the end of that volume, I was mentally clamoring for justice, even as I was befuddled by the time-Space continuum.
So to summarize: this is a fun read with a lot of wonderful Gaelic references and Irish mythology along with other myths [like dragons, Baba Yaga, elves, fae creatures, men of green-aka men of green, vampires, shifters, nymphs, centaurs and necromancers] coming to life.
How would I describe this series? Imagine Charles deLint [Canadian fantasy & mysticism] Janet Evanovich [a smart ass female lead with a big heart & lots of interested men] Rick Riordan [mythic adventures] Ann Bishop [mystical communities trying to live harmoniously] with a splash of Louise Penney’s [a strong sense of place-also Canadian, deep insights and incredibly well-developed, multifaceted characterization with strong morals]. Synthesize the writing from all five of them, then add a dash that is purely Tempest.
Lots and lots of great stories
Lots and lots of great characters
Loving figuring out the balances of good and bad
Really enjoyed all the Greeks and trials!
Fiona is the magnet for all the badies, she continues to overcome and still have a life!
Thank you
