I've used less expensive tapes but this brand seams to stick the best and leaves less sticky dark residue on things than the other brands. I use it on wiring, on top of the same brands rubber coating and I have put it on the silicone tape to protect that from abrasion.
It sticks well within reason. Sand and grease will hurt any tape so clean things off first.
The mess created by other brands is my biggest concern, I once made a harness for a power supply and wrapped it inside split loom. I used a different brand tape and the result was that I had a mess on walls, my desks my equipment, etc. All at room temps.
My last use of of split loom was for coaxial cable in the living room. This is by far a better product than any other brand I have used. Including the brands with animals on the label.
I use it everywhere for electrical now. It may upcost 2 times the price but I've had really good luck, even opening up harnesses in vehicles years later where I used it.
Every year I have to weatherproof an AC extension cord to the device cord that plugs in. (I have to replace the device every year) I may change up the first coating between the rubber and silicone but this is the only tape I trust for this application. It manages UV pretty well too.
However, the 33 is much more "tacky" than the Super 88. If your application may involve removing the tape at some point, or if you're using tape for temporarily holding something in place, then I would strongly recommend you don't purchase this version (Super 33) and buy the Super 88 instead. My experience is the 33 is much more prone to leaving behind undesirable sticky residue - the kind that discolors or leaves marks on certain plastics and other similar, smooth surfaces. I've not had that problem with the 88 tape.
When I say "tacky" and "residue" of the 33 tape, I'm talking about remnants of the glue on the back of the tape. It's colored black and you'll have a difficult time getting rid of it when it decides to adhere to something you don't want it stuck on.
The downside is of the 88 is, of course, it's significantly more expensive; and for this reason if I only require a basic tape that isn't going to be removed (at least not by me), then I'm more likely to use the 33. However, if I have an application where I know the tape will likely be removed in the future (say, a temporary electrical hookup for whatever reason), I strongly prefer the 88 tape. This is especially true of outdoor applications. The humidity and higher temps outdoors seem to increase the tackiness the 33 tape leaves behind. YMMV.
Anyway, most of the time we use the cheaper walmart or homedepot brands but I decided to try a higher grade tape. It is completely worth it as it lasts longer and sticks to seemingly everything. It also seems a lot thicker and harder to rip than the average e-tape. This is definitely a good thing, especially when using it outside where it is exposed to the elements. This stuff wears like iron and stays stuck to what you want it to.
It is easier to have a knife or scissors to cut this as it is very tough tape. I have not tried it, but it is also flame retardent and provides a water-tight seal when pulling it tight enough, taking advatage of the stretch ability of the tape. For the price, it is completely worth it as one roll will last quite a while for everday chores around the house. It is absolutely second to none when using in the out-of-doors. Great stuff, I highly recommend over the cheaper tape.
