Kissed by a Killer: Morelli Family Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 512 ratings

It’s my job to protect the Morelli men when the law is after them.
But now their most dangerous Capo has killed to protect
me.

My law firm has two unbreakable rules.

1. Never get personally involved with a client.

Nick Fontana was only ever supposed to be a booty call, but he’s had me cross-examining my heart since we started hooking up.

2. Never let the Morellis do you a favor.

I can’t stop thinking about his talented hands on my body...but those hands just took the wrong life to save mine.

I helped Nick cover up what he did, because if anyone finds out, it would start a Mob War that could destroy us all.

But someone knows our deadly secret.

I’ve kept
my mouth shut. So can I really trust the killer I’ve been kissing?

***

Kissed by a Killer is best enjoyed as part of the Morelli Family mafia romance series. Characters and events from previous books are referenced. This book ends with an HEA/HFN but there is a cliffhanger for the overarching series plot.

Top reviews from the United States

I have loved every one of these books…in the entire series! It is not necessary to have read the others to understand this book, but there are mentions of situations and/or characters that nuanced information will be missed having not read them. If you like this book, definitely read the others. They are soooo good. This one will end on a little bit of a cliffhanger but not for our couple.
The Morelli Family has a superb attorney in Carlo Bianchi, Esquire who has a way of getting them out of the worst predicaments. His father is the lead attorney, but it’s Carlo who gets things done. He is also a scandalous flirt, sometime troublemaker and proudly gay. He and Nick Fontana, one of Luca Morelli’s most accomplished Capos have had a few clandestine assignations. Carlo’s father will accept no mixing of members of their firm with clients, especially with the Morellis. What happens to their budding relationship when Nick kills for Carlo? Oh my, they have stirred one big hornet’s nest. Everybody will not come out unscathed. If you like mafia stories, M/M romance with lots of passion and just a touch of aggressive behavior, read this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Gay Romance Reviews.

I really enjoyed this book. I felt that it was quite a bit darker in tone than the other books in the series.
I felt that there was a great balance between suspense and love/relationship building.
Also wonderful balance between plot and sex between main characters.
I loved the relationship between main characters Nick and Carlo. They are both very strong characters who are even stronger together. I really really hope they are prominent characters in the last book.
I can’t recommend this book enough. If you liked any of the other books in this series I think you will love this. It gives a lot of depth and insight into so many characters of the series. I am really excited for the final book in December!

Really enjoyed these two. Nicky with his dedication to protecting Carlo and Carlo coming to understand the morally grey. I so needed Nick to fess up to Luca, thank god for Finch’s influence. Surprise ending and looking forward to the last book.

Absolutely loved this book! Another great addition to this series. Every book is so unique and yet they blend together so well. I loved the couple of Nick and Carlo. Seeing Nick fall and love Carlo was so endearing and I think they are my fav couple now! These characters have so much chemistry between them Book #4 was a bit slower, but this one had a faster-pace to it and was funnier. Although this book has drama and suspense! I cannot wait to finish the series and continue on to read everything else the author has!

I literally sat up all night reading this book! It’s been years since I read such a well-balanced novel. The characters were well-developed, the storyline strong and the twists and turns throughout kept me intrigued. I can’t wait to begin book #6.

This whole series has been fantastic to read. In this story Capo Nick and lawyer Carlo find themselves falling deeper and deeper into a forbidden relationship while they try to figure out who tried to murder Carlo. This was an intense and interesting story. I really recommend reading this entire series!  Should be read in order.

I’ve read the entire series. The plots are completely implausible and the characters are caricatures. Yet, I can’t stop reading them. Each one is distinct and different, despite having recurring characters. Each book focuses on a different set of recurring characters. Even though the books tax credulity and are down right laughable, I can recommend them as late night reading before bed or poolside reading on summer afternoon. Think of them like candy: sweet and fattening empty calories.

It's 3:38am and I'm not even sorry. (I will be very sorry running on 3 hrs of sleep but that's tomorrow's me problem). Nick and Carlo and their story are just so so good that it sucks you in and doesn't let go until the end. I feel like I need to reread it again. In fact I went from reading the blurb thinking Nick Fontana, hm, okay whatever let's see what happens here, to wait is this actually my favorite couple and story in this series?!?! Well I might need to reread the series to be absolutely sure and also to somehow survive until the last book comes out at the end of December. This brings me back to the title of my post: WHY?!?! 5 months to marinate in all the possibilities of what happens next and that ending. Is there any way we can get the next book sooner?!?! Asking for a concerned and slightly addicted to the storyline friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wedding and a Lot of Funerals
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 14, 2024
This is the penultimate book in the series that ends on a hook for the next one, not a cliffhanger.
The whole family are at a mob wedding, and lawyer Carlo is there as an extra unplanned guest, which is great as far as Nicky Fontana is concerned, given they've messed about with each other plenty of times.
But the groom 'disappears' and it isn't long before Carlo is getting threats and Nicky is willing to risk the Boss's ire to protect his lover.
Lots of twists and turns with this one as well as betrayal and mobsters catching feelings.
Very steamy and also fun as well as dangerous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another awesome read

Lucky this book wasn’t longer or else I’d have to call in sick to work for a couple of days, I couldn’t put it down. Loved Nick and Carlo’s story and seeing a harder side of Luca was fun. They’re mafia so we know they’re actually bad guys, they do kill people, but they are the heroes of the story, and we have to love them. This one just brings home a bit more that they really are “bad” guys. Nicky does a bad thing for the right reason (of course) and that makes his and Carlo’s forbidden relationship a heck of a lot more complicated, and then even more complicated when they try to fix it.

While the book ends with a HEA for Nick and Carlo, it is open ended as usual for the overall story that we have to wait for and of course it’s an automatic pre-order!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great love story -read it
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 4, 2021
I’ve read all of this series in the past few days and really enjoyed each of them. The author has a lovely, intense way of describing the character’s feelings and motivations. Carlo and Nicky seem an unlikely couple and over the course of the book we join them on the journey as they fall in love. The ending is an interesting one, no spoilers but suffice to say I am waiting eagerly for the final book to be published.
