Minn Kota Freshwater Transom-Mount Motors
Get A Better Handle. Different motors feature different tiller handles, each designed to make fishing easy and comfortable. When you reach back for your transom-mount motor, you’re taking matters into your own hands. You need instant responsiveness, easy control, unyielding toughness and a reliable motor that you can count on for years. If the motor you reach for has our name on it, that’s exactly what you’ll get.
Vantage- When You Can't Wait To Fish
Patience is a virtue, especially in fishing. But why wait if you don’t have to? Vantage lets you instantly slip into backtrolling mode, quickly and responsively steer, and stow and deploy the motor at the push of a button. That’s less waiting – and more fishing. Vantage's mounting system breaks away on impact. It’s easy to reset, and protects your motor and boat transom from unseen hazards. When depth and fishing conditions change, all you have to do is push a button to raise or lower your motor.

Lever Lock BracketLift and rotate Vantage’s directional indicator 180º, and start backtrolling right away. |
Endura ModelsRotate the lower unit 180° by moving the tiller just 45°. This allows for more steering response with less effort, and the trolling motor stays out of the way of your outboard or kicker motor for easier control. |
5 Fwd/3 Rev Speed SettingsProvides up to 5 times longer run time on a single battery charge. These variable speed trolling motors let you dial in your exact speed, and they deliver only as much power as you need, helping to conserve your battery for a full day of fishing. |
Indestructible Composite Shaft
Pound for pound, our composite shaft is stronger than steel. It flexes on impact and won’t break, kink or corrode.
Cool, Quiet Power
Nothing runs cooler or quieter than a Minn Kota. Our extra large windings and commutators dissipate heat, resulting in cooler operation, extended battery power, and longer motor life. And our unique bearing system reduces friction to cut fish-spooking noise.
Power Prop (not shown)
With swept-back flared blades to power through anything without battery-draining chopping and hacking, the Weedless Wedge 2 is one of the most trusted props in fishing.

Here is the deal. The thing is NOT a power hog. As of this writing (super rainy wet year) I have battled winds and currents in our overflowing rivers and having to stay on it all the time has been the test. I haven't got back to the pull out with less than a half battery yet.
My notion is that if you have a 14ft boat or less this engine is adequate. No need to break the bank if you're on a budget. For my purposes it is perfect!
The gadget that tilts the thing. Over the years I have fought with those releases. Not so on the MinnKota Endura Transom Mount Trolling Motor. Smoothest one I have ever seen.
The one thing that is not perfect is the reverse. Don't plan on running it from the front of the boat in reverse. Ain't happening. I don't know if the blades aren't pitched right or what, but the reverse really froths the water without giving much ooomph. I mean, it will back you out of the shallows, but it's not for full time use. Forward, on the other hand works just like you like.
About the handle.... Well, I wound up putting my trolling motor in the back and I was kinda worried about steering. You know, twisting around and all. But with the extension handle which you can pull out a lot or a little....it ended up being zero problem. I think I might actually like it more better on the aft now.
And one heads up. If you plan on putting a transducer onto the foot...be advised, it probably won't fit as the foot is too short. However...my workaround was to put my transducer all the way to the rear against the fin and shim it with some rubber pads on an edge so that I got it near to vertical. And my depth finder works just fine. So no harm done. You could use most anything that won't rot. Your wife's Tupperware, for instance.
I like my MinnKota Endura Transom Mount Trolling Motor a LOT and you will too. If your boat be smaller grab one. You'll be thankin' me!
