“How to Bottom like a Porn Star” is a charmingly erotic guidebook on the expectations vs. realities of being on the “receiving end” of gay sex.

The book claims to be for individuals who are “too afraid to bottom” or “have tried bottoming and it hurt like hell.” I enthusiastically disagree. I am not afraid to bottom and most of the time it doesn't hurt when I do, however, I found this book to be very educational, even for “pro-bottomers.”

It was refreshing to have an author attack the stigmas that are associated with “bottoming.” I've been guilty of using the phrase “you can’t throw a cat in this town without hitting a bottom.” I now have a clearer explanation as to why some people (including myself) put the “top” on a pedestal. Ironically, the only porn advice that the author agreed with came from a “porn star” that tops, rather than any of the ones who bottom. But I've been enlightened with the idea of not labeling myself and others so “frankly.” I agree that “top and bottom” should be used as verbs, not titles.

I had always been curious about the usage of “poppers” in the gay community but I was too embarrassed to ask and too lazy to look it up. “How to Bottom like a Porn Star” explains why “poppers” are considered valuable to some individuals and the potential side-effects of abusing recreational drugs. Having said that, I do wish the “Question and Answer” section regarding drug-use was shorter; for a moment, I forgot I was reading a book about “bottoming.” Fewer drugs, more anal penetration… but I digress…

I’m one of those individuals who have a hard time getting over the “ick-factor” of bottoming. I have learned that a few of my own “pre-game rituals” can actually cause more harm than good and I should be wary of the possible consequences of excessive enema usage and consider the benefits of a high fiber diet. Like the author says, sometimes “shit happens.” But now I know why; I feel like an amateur gastroenterologist.

Honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed reading “How to Bottom like a Porn Star.” Not only will I recommend it to others, but I’ll keep it as a resource to refer back to every now and then. My biggest suggestion is that if there is a second edition, it should include a detailed section on condom usage… and maybe a few pictures… What? I’m a visual learner!

Definitely has some good insights in it. It helps with both mental and physical issues related to bottoming. I like the development. And in the end you learn exactly why you don't want to bottom how porn stars do because its so unhealthy. I'd recommend for anyone who is interested in trying to bottom, or has and wants some tips on cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable sex.

Cannot recommend this strongly enough. My boyfriend is not small, and this saved me a world of hurt and made us both very happy. Some of this seems basic, but nothing is 'basic' to the guys who would need a book like this. Mostly common sense to me now, but this truly saved our relationship. If you are scared of bottoming, or if you are struggling with it, this can help a lot. It's an easy read with super useful information that is (surprisingly) not that well compiled elsewhere. This is a great "how to" for beginners, and I imagine those who are relatively inexperienced (or have to cope with more than they are used to) would learn a great deal from reading this. TMI but I have touchless orgasms bottoming now and I don't know that I would have gotten to that point as painlessly or quickly (or ever, maybe) without this book.

This is an excellent guide for those men whose fears stop them from having pleasurable bottoming sexual experiences.

I like the way the author guides, step by step, through the process of overcoming the main fears that stop many men from pleasurably bottoming in bed with their male partners (misconceptions about roles an masculinity, fear of pain or discomfort, and fear of unclean accidents in bed). The book is written with knowledge, clearness and in a very funny but responsible and up to date way, including techinques that every man willing to bottom (and even those who prefer to top) should know.

I'd love to find this book translated to Spanish, so I could share it with my non-English speaking friends. And it would be nice if the visual content was included in the book and not just linked from external websites.

Good book with lots of useful information but I thought it would also touch on those who’ve experienced anal sex and want to improve on it.

A clenching, painful, and short experience...or so I thought bottoming was. After reading the book I went from 0-100 and can bottom with ease. I thought perhaps I was broken, or had ibs or something because NO MATTER WHAT it always hurt. After applying these techniques, I was AMAZED to find myself enjoying the act of bottoming and my partner was amazed I could do it with ease. Thanks Woody, the book was an humous, enjoyable, and informational read. I better understand my body, and a way to make a better sexual experience for whomever is underneath me.

This book should be priced $2.99 to $3.99 max. Not really what I was looking for. Had hoped for more practical tips than were provided. Lots of material "summarized" at the end of each chapter. I felt the purpose of this was simply to make the book longer. If you're buying this for the section on foods to eat then let me summarize for you. Eat fiber. Then more fiber. Then have a bit more fiber.

I wasn't expecting this to be as Honest and Blunt about bottoming and certain aspects of the Porn industry. Regardless, I loved the read and the information is definitely worth the time.
If you are new or just never knew what you were doing, this is a great way to help with that.
Good job ,Woody
Definitely getting the rest .
