We had about 108 sq ft to cover so we ordered 5 boxes (125 sq ft). There were a few boards that weren’t great out of the 5 boxes, but most were perfect, and we were able to use some of the not great ones for the smaller end pieces if needed. We ended up with maybe 8 full extra pieces (just a guess, don’t feel like counting!).
We used the gray set, which all came with 5 dark, 5 medium, and 4 light, so we had to be cautious with how we distributed the light ones in the design so we didn’t run out and have all medium and dark at the end. The company website has a design tool which was incredibly helpful, but I still recommend laying them out ahead of time to make sure you have what you need!
We used construction adhesive and two 2” brads on every stud. We also painted the wall a very dark gray beforehand, which I think was key to making the imperfections seem like part of the design. We also marked all the studs with chalk. We used a miter saw for the straight cuts and a jigsaw for around the outlets.
We COULD have probably finished this in a day, but we have little kids and our air compressor wasn’t working so we had to make a few trips to the store. So it took us basically two partial days to finish.
We also used quarter round around the edges, but it actually didn’t look too bad with the rougher edging. Just depends on what look you’re going for! We had a gap at the top so it looked better with the border for us.
We just finished a couple weeks ago, so if anything starts warping or falling apart, I’ll update!
Edit (Sept 2021): It's been a few months and everything still looks great, but I'm updating to add that we used the leftover pieces for a few small projects, including the base of a riser for our movie chairs. So these are very versatile!
Edit (Jan 2024): they still look as good as the day we got them, no warping or anything like that! Looks like the colors are slightly adjusted from when we got them but I’d still highly recommend the boards from this company assuming the overall quality hasn’t changed!

My only complaint is that there is some variance in the width and thickness of the wood, making installation a bit tricky at times. We also had a few pieces that arrived chipped and was basically useless to us, so buy more than you think you need to compensate for these pieces. An important tip before installation: paint the wall black so the color behind the wall doesn’t show between the cracks. It’s been almost a year since I’ve put this in and the wood does expand and contract slightly so some gaps are more prominent now. If I didn’t paint the wall black beforehand, the gaps would be much more noticeable.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the purchase and highly recommend this. Just remember to buy extra to compensate for chipped or flawed pieces.

Important! I hired someone to install. You do need the proper tools. The carpenter made sure to hit the studs, boards needed to be trimmed, and I could not have done it myself.
Having said that, I’m delighted with the new look and feel.
Good quality wood, especially for the price, no fumes, and though I got mixed packs, they blend beautifully.
