Works amazing! Already pre-seasoned but good to use butter to help. Very sturdy and reliable cast iron that will stay with you throughout the years! The company also offers a free handle cover when you email them!! Easy pour spouts and nonstick surface! This really is a wonderfully made cast iron skillet.

Perfect cast iron skillet!

Wow.  I bought this because a friend said it was a great pan (which it is) but when it arrived with ZERO plastics used in the packaging I was blown away.  I looked further into them because I was so impressed and I stand by my wow.  This company is doing everything they can to be leaders in the right way.   I am here for it.
Oh, and the pan is great.  Loved that is was pre seasoned with flax.  We did salmon the first night and it worked like a dream.  Easy to cook on and just have to maintain it properly and it can last a lifetime.

buy a great pan - find a great company

Through the pandemic quarantine, cooking at home became something that had to happen. Having several cast iron cookware pieces there were passed down from family became the cookware of choice once I found out that cast iron cookware is so versatile, from stovetop to oven and back again. So that led me to pick up a new piece from Greater Good through the Walmart.com site.

This 10-inch skillet was chosen as it was well-priced on the Wallyworld site, funny it was more expensive on Amazon. Though you got a free handle cover on Amazon. Or is it really free? As the additional cost is about the same if you bought the two together?  Sadly Walmart did not have the same offer, but that is OK, I just wanted the skillet.

What I first noted was the well-designed box that it came in. If they care about the packaging, they care about what's inside. When I heard FedEx drop it off on the front porch with a thud, I thought the worst, a great way to break it, dude. This skillet is well made, and a little rough handling did it no harm.

The second thing I noticed was its heft, it weighed more than my old Korean-made cast iron pan, and there is a reason for that it is deeper and had a much longer handle than that one, which is what makes it a skillet and not just a frying pan.

I have used it for a few meals, and so far, quite pleased with how it cooks, cleans up, and handles on my gas range. And yes it beats the old pan that I had been using since it is taller and seems to have better heat retention.

What I like about it:  It has a great design and looks good even when not in use sitting on the stove. It heats evenly and holds the heat well for steaming. While I love the classics like a few Wagnerware pieces, this one from Greater Good has the opportunity to be part of a long family tradition. The price of course was impressive on the Walmart site, about ten bucks cheaper than elsewhere, which may be the reason it sells out so quickly.

The one thing I have learned is that Cast Iron Cookware gets better with use, and the more you use it, the better it will get with age.  Looking forward to cooking with this for years to come, check back with me to see how my culinary skills have improved by having the correct tools to cook with.

Modern Skillet Compares Grandma's Cast Iron

Perfect pre seasoned skillet

I have been wanting a cast iron skillet at home for a couple years but have always felt intimidated by the thought of cooking with one! I have been apprehensive about the weight and whether I'd be able to achieve even cooking.

When my this Greater Goods skillet arrived at my doorstep I was super excited! Opened the box and was so pleased right off the bat! It's the perfect size for my smaller kitchen and I LOVE that it's got the prefect depth to it - I didn't want something too shallow and this is exactly the right depth. I also like that it has a pouring spout on each side. Smart design features really get me.

Immediately my husband wanted to try cooking with it so we cooked steak for dinner and it turned out amazing! The pan heats up quickly, holds heat evenly and well and the steaks got an incredible sear and flavor to them. The best steaks we've cooked on a stove-top, ever!

The only thing I'd want to see as an improvement is that the pan come with a glove or panhandle cover.

So happy we took the plunge and got this item. We both love it and will be cooking with it often!

First Time User

I used this Cast Iron Skillet by GreaterGoods to make desserts like peach cobbler. I was very impressed on how non-stick this skillet is. It was easy to remove all the food after baking and I didn't need to scratch the skillet. It can sustain oven temperatures up to about 370 degrees. I really like the size and design of this skillet too. It is a very convenient product that comes in very handy in my kitchen. It is very well seasoned too and I didn't need to take any additional steps before cooking/baking anything into it. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone. I was looking for a good value cast iron skillet to add to my kitchen.  This skillet comes pre-seasoned and is the perfect size for my needs.   Stays nice and hot once heated.

Cast Iron Skillet that heats well

I've been hesitant to buy a cast iron skillet due to all that goes into caring for one. However, I'm glad that I took the leap to purchase this one. Great high quality, easy to clean and non-stick. I like the smaller size this pan is, the long handle and how high quality it is. Definitely see it lasting a lifetime.

Great Purchase

I enjoy using this GreatGoods Cast Iron Skillet. I like that it is big enough to make an omelet and my desserts like a tart pie. I also like that it does not burn easily, making my food taste delicious. It warms up at a good temperature. I will let my family and friend know about this GreaterGoods brand skillet.

Excellent Yummy Food Cast Iron

This pan will last for generations. It is so well made and weighs approx. 10 lbs. It is pre seasoned with flaxseed oil and also has an ergonomic handles to balance the weight. It can be used on a grill or on an open fire while camping. I use it for frying, baking, sautéing. It makes the hash browns, burgers, grilled chicken really crispy and taste better than other pans.
It's easy to clean and I season it every so often and got to always make sure after I clean it too put some flaxseed oil in it to keep it from rusting.
I've done some of my own research, and flaxseed oil is supposed to be the best for keeping up with the seasoning, and using after cleaning. Flaxseed oil is the only edible oil that has waterproofing properties, so it would make the surface even more non-sticking.
