LG 48 inch A2 series OLED tv
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am enjoying my LG OLED tv. I had been hesitant to purchase last years model, but the price was $549 and all other OLED started at $1000. It was 60 mz refresh rate, rather than the 120 mz refresh, which I was glad I could not notice any lag or ghosting watching the IU basketball game. I am not a gamer, so most of what I watch is football and basketball. I also had to consider that there were many LED tv's with a great picture for $300. What made the decision easier was seeing them side by side. OLED does have a sharper picture that also looks good even when you are not sitting squarely in front of the tv. A few things to mention for improvement. I had a steep learning curve using the remote that had no labels on it and no intruction book telling what each button does. Maybe if I had a smart tv previously, it would have been easier. I had an old 32 inch, 200 pound tv, so it is much nicer having a tv I can lift by myself. This one is about 25 pounds. Without instructions, I managed to get the tv up and running. I still have not been able to download any new apps on the tv and am not even certain it is possible. It came with several apps, but not the Dish Anywhere App. I also had to purchase a pedastal stand to be able to swivel the tv--I am still waiting on a friend to put that together, The end cap legs supplied were 1 inch too far apart for my stand. I had to bring in a longer board in order to use the tv. Most people mount these on the wall, but I live in an antique brick home with horsehair plaster and lath walls, which I did not want to trust to hold up this new tv. I have 3 hdmi ports and 1 usb port, wish it had another USB port. Also, the antennae input extends to the side in a tight spot. It would be better if it came straight out of the back. This is difficult for women and the elderly, as we have weaker finger muscles. I just checked and it does not readily appear that there is a way to use the tv without the remote. We have not lost it yet, so for now that is not a problem. I am very pleased with my purchase and the price. Delivery was on time. They also price matched within a week of delivery.

Fit My Setup Perfectly
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to move my computer/gaming area to a smaller room which is perfect for what I need. I have a 75" tv in the room but it sits to the side and to be able to watch it I have to turn away from what I'm doing on the computer. I decided I wanted a tv over my computer monitors to be able to watch tv without having to completely stop using my computer. I also wanted to be able to more easily play games from my cpu on the tv. I decided to go with the A2 purely for the price. I looked at the C3, but didn't really care about the faster refresh rate, one more HDMI port and over 2X price difference. First the picture on this tv is phenomenal. We have multiple 4k tvs in the house, but this is the first OLED, and WOW! The 48" is the perfect size for the setup I was going for. The picture is perfect and it was a breeze to set up. I mounted it on the wall which was easy. This is the second LG tv we've bought in the past two years and I will probably only buy LG from now on. I currently have Vizio, Samsung, Sony and a FireTV. This LG is by far the best of all of them. For the price, quality and easy of setup I'd highly recommend this TV. Surprisingly, the sound that comes out of the tv is pretty good. I originally used Apple HomePod Minis in a stereo pair for my audio, but upgraded to a Sonos Beam soundbar. If you are looking to step up to an OLED tv, you can't go wrong with this one.

OMG!!!! OLED looks so good! And the price? Wow!!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our Sony gave up the ghost (blown power board I suspect) so we knew we needed a new TV and to Best Buy we ran. We had a budget of up to $1000 but that was pushing it. We finally got someone to help us and we were opting for the Hisense as it had most of the features we wanted. But I noticed this LG OLED at just 48" which was just slightly bigger than our Sony. Using my Best Buy app I scanned the bar code. THAT MUST BE A MISTAKE!!!! $599 for an OLED screen? I told the salesperson and they looked at me like oh yeah, right. None of the OLEDs go for less than $1000. He scanned the bar code with the official store app while I awaited to hear the real price. "Son of a gun!!!" It is $599. I'LL TAKE IT I EXCLAIMED!!!!!! He replied "ME TOO!". Seems they had two in stock. Okay, this isn't the top of the line OLED monitors but man oh man does it look great. While watching Star Trek, yes, the old one, it looked like a new show. Space was dark and the colors beyond vibrant. And it only got better from there. It has built in LG channels that are free (basically Pluto channels) and comes with a host of free apps, browsers, Google Voice Assistant and more. AND, yeah it's 4K. I don't have anything out side of my DSLR that will show me 4K but my images looks so detailed. Cons? Well, 48" is probably small for most of you but for us it's a great size as we have a small living room. LG really one upped everyone on this one. If you have a chance to grab one, DO! The salesman was having someone write up the other TV while we purchased this one. So glad we didn't go with the Hisense though it was a bigger screen. The quality and clarity more and vibrant colors more than make up for those missing inches. OLED is definitely the way to go. Oh and if you are worried about burn in, the TV comes with automatic maintenance built in that runs automatically after so many hours to prevent or reduce burn in.

EXCELLENT, SOOO HAPPY!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn’t be more pleased with this tv. I loooooove it, the picture is eeeeexxxxcccceeeelllleeeeennnttt!!! Insert several star eyes emojis!! I highly highly highly recommend this tv to anyone! Best Buy has the best price! I’ve searched everywhere! It has ai intuitive enhancement for image and sound, the difference is incredible! I’m really happy with the size too because I don’t like tv’s that totally take over the room. It fits perfectly above our fireplace on our corner wall, it’s just all around perfect! Only complaint I would have is removing the tv from the box if you want to keep the box intact. There are no directions on how to successfully remove the tv, only what not to do. It is pretty much impossible to follow their directions of what not to do because it’s almost impossible not to grab the screen and they advise against grabbing the screen to remove. You can just carefully slice the box open and remove it that way, which they also advise against, but if you are trying to keep the box as a renter and know you’ll probably move in 2 years or so like me, then that’s not an option for you. My roommate and I did finally remove it, but she did end up grabbing the screen at one point. It’s pretty impossible to remove from the box without doing that. So, i would suggest engineering a better box for removal.

Second OLED
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On sale today at last month's Black Friday price it replaced our 50" Samsung LED bedroom TV that fit like a glove into our Armoire. This is the 48" OLED from LG made specifically for Best Buy, at least for now. It fit into the same spot leaving about an inch on each side, and is an inch shorter in height, so yes the screen is slightly smaller than the 50" it replaced. BUT in dim light this thing pops unlike anything I've seen except its big brother the 65" OLED LG B9 in our living room. At a third of what I paid for the 65" three years ago in November of 2019 I found the way to justify an OLED for the bedroom. Otherwise this purchase would not have happened in December of 2022. Thank you LG and thank you Best Buy.

Great tv.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv has amazing color and clarity, and great sound quality. The remote is very sensitive. I connected my dvd player easily, but not my sound bar. Couldn't find the correct numbers to enter. I haven't even used all the things it offers like voice command from built in Alexa. Will be using it soon.

Great “budget” OLED
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best tv ever. My first OLED and am blown away. The black are blacking and the white are so white. They it’s so nice being able to finally see all the details in very dark scenes. No worry about burn in because after about a minute in it goes to a screensaver. The sound is also surprisingly good on the AI PRO Sound setting. No soundbar needed in my opinion. The only con is the brightness but that’s to be expected for an entry level OLED. As long as you turn all the lights off it should be bright enough for all scenes. Bright scenes are okay with outdoor light though. If you’re willing to wait I’d recommend getting it in Black Friday. I would also recommend getting a better stand so you can adjust the height and just have more structural integrity. I got mine for $550 instead of the $1300 it retails for.

Would not hesitate to purchase again
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV. probably the position but almost never has a bad glare. The 5 minute pixel cleaning is annoying to sit and wait while its off but i believe its daily (one and done). But very annoying to have to say no on every wake up. I have 2 sources. Ps4 pro and roku. Roku is strictly for the clock. Nothing signed into. All my apps are opened from the installed tv apps. If you turn the tv on while its on ps4's input, it will turn the ps4 on which can get annoying, having to turn on a controller to put in rest mode can get tiring. The remote center "select" button is scrollable so hitting dead center can be tricky. (Instead of hitting pause you scroll down). Also almost forgot. Ive had to unplug(not just power off) a handful of times due to wifi not working (apps not loading). Every other device on the network is working. Tv won't connect to established wifi network. Soon as I turn it back on (after a few minutes) i don't need to even sign into the network, apps load just fine. Hasn't happened recently probably from turning off for few hours (letting tv reset and rest) Been a year (11/26/22-11/12/23) with no obvious quality issues. Same batteries in remote.

Q: Questionmodel year for Oled 48A2PUA?
Asked by jnformed.
- A:Answer Great question! The OLED48A2PUA was recently launched on April 10, 2022. The LG A2 OLED is an entry-level OLED in LG's 2022 lineup. Replacing the LG A1 OLED, it sits below the LG B2 OLED, and it's meant for people who want the fantastic picture quality of OLEDs without the gaming features that LG's B and C Series models come with, like HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and variable refresh rate (VRR) support. It's available in 48, 55, and 65 inches, which is good enough for most people, but it's disappointing if you want a larger model. It comes with the same LG webOS smart platform and unique Magic Remote as their other OLED models, making it easy to stream your favorite content. ^Jennifer
