1. It's very small and easy to carry.
2. It has multiple brightness settings and you can have it come on at any brightness level by default. I have mine default to the lowest (plenty of light to get around a dark room).
3. The higher level brightness is incredibly bright. I don't know how they pack so much light in a small flashlight.
4. The battery life is amazing. I use the lower setting mostly but have used the higher settings from time to time. I've had it over a month and haven't had to recharge it yet.
5. It has a second light on the side that is useful like a lantern and the side light can be set to a bright steady red light or a flashing red light.
This is the best, most useful and portable flashlight I have ever used.
I highly recommend it.
Press and hold and it comes on at maximum brightness.
Press twice and it comes on that minimum brightness. Press again and again to cycle through 4 or 5 different brightness levels.
Press 3 times and it gives you a nice white light from the body. Great for the tent or table. Press again to increase brightness and once more to get a strobe.
Press 4 times and you get the UV light. Great way to check cash.
Recharging is quick-ish and easy.
Glow in the dark body is very cool and after using it, it will glow for a while making it easy to find if you're camping and need to get it in the dark.
Only complaints:
Wish it was USB-C, but that's not really a big deal.
Clip sucks. It falls off easily and I don't trust it. So I attached it to a paracord lanyard and I'm very happy with it.
It's almost TOO small. But again, with it attached to a small paracord lanyard, I'm not worried about it. This thing is about the size of a AA battery.
It could burn a hole in your pocket if you accidently have it on at full brightness. It can get hot quickly.
More recently (past 2 months, I have purchased some Fenix flashlights - the PD36R (4 - one in each of my bug-out kits - Pelican go-boxes and 1600 lumens) and UC52 (3100 lumens). Excellent for $100 and $150, respectively. Along with my Leatherman multi-tool (Skeletool in my pocket, full-size in the boxes) and Benchmade 916 Triage knives (1 in each box), this is my EDC.
But, I had been carrying a Surefire Sidekick (originally $70, now $35) with max 300 lumens output and mini-USB recharging on my keychain (a Tumi, hanging from right belt loop along with Nite-Ize tool). Light, powerful, easy-to-use. My RovyVon is the same weight, but 1/3 the volume, so it is really inconspicuous. What is the kicker is the 550 lumens. Going outside in darkness to compare the 300 lumen output of the SideKick against the 550 lumen output of the RovyVon was a revelation. Build quality, ease of use, finish - superb. But the reading light, and red warning light, etc. are just over the top. You could hang from a belt loop or on your backpack at night to warn vehicles or mark your location on a group night march. For $100 it would be worth it. I am going to buy more and add them as a fob on all my go-boxes (they glow in the dark after 8 hours or so of light to make easy to identify).
Honestly, these are no-brainers. For the reasons I mentioned above, a tactical Brite-Strike or Surefire with crenellations offers defensive capability the RovyVon doesn't ("is that a mint? Are you offering me a mint? Give my your money!"), but it is absolutely a must-purchase, in bulk (3 or more) for the reasons above.
I was skeptical of how good this $38 flashlight could be (given I own 5 $200-250 flashlights, not to mention MagLites and now the Fenix), but I am well and truly a believer. I am going to give them as gifts to friends at Christmas. That's the best recommendation I can make. Just buy and enjoy. You will NOT regret it. Well done, RovyVon (and that is a mouthful to say or spell!)
1. The case is a little longer, and the width is a little wider. Both are positives.
2. The flashlight came fully charged; ready-to-use.
I also have a Rovyvon A3 650 lumens.
I carry one of these lights in my pants pocket for EDC. I keep one in my fishing pack. One night, while fly fishing with a friend, I was the only one with a flashlight. We were in a densely forested part of the Adirondacks and had to find the trail to hike back to our car. No moonlight and a thick canopy of trees. I clipped my A5x to my cap brim and turned it on. It lit up the path for both of us. We easily found the path and made it out SAFELY.
Here is what I like about the A5x.
1. Clips easily to a hat brim.
2. on/off switch is easy to find, even when the light is on my cap brim. (I put the clip on the opposite side fo the on/off switch.
3. Sidelights are great when walking at night. I use them as a beacon to alert cars behind me.
4. Lanyard loop for hooking onto a lanyard when needed.
5. Uses a micro USB cable for recharging. I don't have to buy a special charging cable.
I plan to get more of the Rovyvon lights. They are very reliable and great quality.

The side lights are a bit useless for me, since even on the higher setting they are a bit worse than my built in phone flash, and tinted slightly green because of the fluorescent casing. Still convenient to attach it to metal objects tho, very useful for building a pc for example.
The a8 doesnt suffer any of these problems, so if you can find it at a discount get that one instead.
