I’ll ignore everyone and work… except when she’s fueling my warped needs.

Although she did surprise me and negotiated a higher prenup for her silly cupcake bakery.

Too bad for her, I’m not a reckless billionaire—my attorney will find the loophole.

Once January 2nd arrives, I’m divorcing her.

Except the more we’re together, the more she’s infiltrating my heart… in ways that have me second guessing our secret arrangement…

Holiday Hoax is a billionaire fake marriage, enemies to lovers, office romance. It’s a slow-burn steamy standalone novel with a grumpy hero who has a broken past and a good girl spitfire heroine who keeps him on his toes.

I'd never seen Sebastian without a suit jacket on. He lowers the coat, his muscles flexing just like in my dream before he pushed me onto the hay. I try to tear my eyes off his torso, but it's like they're glued to his pecs.

He tilts my chin, which only adds to my embarrassment. His eyes shine with arrogance, and he slings his coat over his shoulder. "I think we have more important things to discuss, Georgia."

I open my mouth, but nothing comes out.

He shuts the conference room door, pulls a chair away from the table, and motions for me to sit.

I obey and wait for him.

He takes the chair next to me and states, "I have a proposal for you."

The hairs on my neck rise. I tilt my head and furrow my eyebrows. I question, "A proposal?"

He grins, which is the first time I've ever seen him smile. My heart skips a beat as he asks, "How would you like to get your cupcake bakery started in the new year?"

Shocked, I gape at him, unsure how to answer.

Amusement fills his expression. He stays quiet.

I blurt out, "Is this a trick?"

He shakes his head. "No. Are you serious about your dream or not?"

"Of course, I am," I assert.

He leans closer. "Okay, then I'm only going to ask you one more time. How would you like to start your cupcake bakery in the new year?"

Maggie Cole brings a fun-loving, steamy story just in time for the holidays.
Georgia Peach a unique, sweet, loves the simple things in life. She's a breath of fresh air. Her positivity shines through.
Sebastian Cartwright is a conniving , broody CEO, a great businessman, but unlucky with relationships.
His dad gave him an ultimatum if he came home for 30 days. he would offer him the CEO position. Now he knew his mom had lined up a myriad of women for him to meet. He wanted to avoid that at all costs. He had bad experiences with women in the past who were only interested in his money.
His idea to hire someone to be his wife for 30 days, give her $100k and then an annulment after he becomes CEO. A win, win for both.
He misjudged Georgia. she was brilliant negotiator, more than what he expected.
Will his Little Miss Sunshine, live up to her end of the bargain? or will she break the contract and leave him hanging?
Can she do this without getting attached to Sebastian and his family?
Can he finally find love with someone who challenges him?
This story is so full of fun, love, emotions, steam, and soul searching for both. Well Done!

Some of the things I really liked about this story was the grumpy hero who was willing to fight and do anything he had to in order to win back the love of his life once he messed up. Plus, the leading lady was very likable and stood up for herself. The steamy scenes were on point, so that was another plus. And the ending of the story was satisfying. The cherry on top was the narration which on its own was 5 stars for both performers.

What I didn’t love about the story was the lack of communication. Yes, there were some intentionally kept secrets and that I could deal with. But it was the moments when they should have talked and instead said nothing or when they didn’t say what they really meant when the truth or speaking at all could have fixed it all. I’ve read worse however and, in the end, things were as they should be. I also didn’t like Sebastian’s family sometimes. They seemed oblivious or just uncaring of why he did what he did to begin with. There was no empathy and certainly no apology for their part in things, particularly his parents. And then they came down so hard on him and kept wanting to ignore Georgia’s part even when she kept bringing it up. They really didn’t seem like they were on his side or supported him and that was a big bummer in the story for me.

Overall, this was a cute holiday listen though and I would still pick up another Maggie Cole story in a heartbeat.

Fake marriage, billionaire, grumpy/sunshine, one bed. As soon as i started this one, i knew it was going to be good! Sébastian and Georgia are the cutest, but he's got past issues with women who only wanted him for his money, Georgia comes along as his new intern and doesn't care about any of it. When his father demands he comes home or he's not going to become CEO, he proposes a contract with Georgia. Fake relationship gets real quickly, and they realize they love each other, but never voice it until damage is already done. A great Christmas read!

Its always great to read a romcom with good banter, even better when it comes with complete inner monologue as well! This book had both along with a very well written love story that will make you laugh while kicking your feet but also make you misty eyed.

Holiday Hoax is a relatively short, sweet read.
Maggie Cole wrote her characters well and spent time truly thinking about how a person in those situations would behave.
Marriage of convenience, forced proximity, sweet seemingly innocent FMC, and harsh, brooding billionaire bad boy with a heart of gold and eyes only for her.
Georgia is a sweet, southern Belle type with a dream to open a bakery using her late grandmother's recipes. Sebastian is a lovable playboy type with deep pockets and a distaste for gossip. To avoid his family playing matchmaker and the towns gossip over his several failed engagements, he hires Georgia to play his wife while he returns to his hometown for the month of December. Over the course of their fake marriage, they truly fall for each other.
I took a star away because there is a 3rd act breakup over a miscommunication, which always breaks my heart, and because Georgia refuses to hear him out and let him explain for WEEKS. It's like the author had a timeline that the book, along with most holiday romances, should end on New Years, but she didn't have any plans to fill the last 2 weeks of time. I think 3-4 days would have been perfectly fine, giving us more time to enjoy them together for real, but instead, we only get a couple of pages.

Kinda has spoilers.

The story is good, the characters all good. The issue I had was mostly the long ending. I mean the things mentioned in the epilogue on how they now communicate is great, but it was like a quickly slapped on main point of their healed relationship which I think should have been more prominent then the last 4 chapters of silly back forth back forth. (The part where Georgia overhears the phone call was just odd. I understand it made the breakup happen that forced Sebastian’s hand in revealing and so on, but maybe the issue could have been more related to the text sent or something.
I don’t know, it was all just really getting to me somehow from where they got married onward. I am sorry! This is just my opinion.
I admire the work itself as writing it not easy and it shows a lot of work went into the book. Just didn’t feel right at ending.

Such a fun read, cute, sweet, heartfelt, can’t say enough good things about this journey of Sebastian and Georgia….what starts off as a crazy scheme turned me into tears, other times big smiles. This was truly a love story at its best with such an interesting mix of family and locations. A must read any time of year.

So this one is not surprising in the overall plot, but I’m a sucker for the fake-dating-trope, so this one was right up my ally. Also it contains the grumpy-sunshine aspect and I was immediately sold. Nothing better than a moody man coming to life because of miss sunshine. And I got it right up to Christmas, so it couldn’t be better.

First off I love all Maggie Coles books, read all of them and enjoyed all. But this one I really loved, yes it was mushy, romantic, chrstmas feels all that but I loved it !!! The story line isn't bad either, one over bearing bossy man, who has been hurt by women in the past, overcoming health issues and trying hard to please his dad, meets the one woman who makes him see things differently. Ok what he does to get there was not the right way, and in fairness Georgia plays a part as well. Being on her own after her Grammy died and seeing maybe she can finally have her dream come true goes along with the fake marriage. It course it goes wrong and hence we have the lovely feel good Christmas story. Just love the way Sebastian sees his errors and ever gives up on Georgia (who really didn't want to give up on him either) Anyway if you want a book to get in the mood for christmas, or just to let you escape from the world for a day then dive into this book, you won't be disappointed. Well done Maggie look forward to your next series.

I haven't read all Maggie's books but I have read alot of them but this book isn't something I thought she would write about . It was nice and fluffy if you know what I mean . It was a typical Christmas romance and predictable but Maggie is a great storyteller and she makes it refreshing
