Falls Short of Delivering.
I was really trying to hold out much longer before writing this review. However I think the time has come. I had been pulling my shots with a $25 espresso machine for 2 years and that died, so I thought time for a decent upgrade. I first purchased the BRIM 19 Bar Espresso machine on Thursday August 5, 2021 and it arrived the next day. After following the priming instructions to the letter, I was ready to pull my first espresso shot. I had bought a bag of decaf, plus a bag of espresso beans which I ground to varying degrees, to do the tests. I went through ALL the baskets that came with it the machine, from the two non-pressurized to two pressurized, pulling coffee. However, I noticed that the PRESSURE GAUGE on the front did not move AT ALL, no matter which basket, nor the type of grounds I put in the them. I was very disappointed. For a $300 machine I really wanted everything to work right away, out of the box. I ordered a replacement the Saturday, August 7, that arrived on Tuesday August 10. That was awesome, that the replacement was so quick. The GAUGE did move on this replacement, but sadly, BARELY, again no matter the basket or the grounds. The needle has NEVER reach halfway through the "Pre-Infusion" stage. Also, when I use the pressurized baskets, there is no nicely formed puck, just a soggy sludge when I empty the portafilter. The non-pressurized ones had a much dryer and better formed puck. I determined that the pressure isn’t enough to drive the water through the grounds in the pressurized baskets. The taste of the pull is also very weak from the pressurized baskets versus the non-pressurized ones. So I have been using just the non-pressurized baskets since. I eventually bought a bottomless portafilter to use deeper basket just to increase the flavor of the pull.Update: Oct 21 2023. It’s been 2 years since I bought this machine. I added a star as with LOTS OF TRIAL AND ERROR I think me and my Brim have a groovy little thing going. The learning curve was steep and I did lots of research for the right ground for espresso. and the only drawback is it’s without a burr grinder. I have a separate grinder though and have been pulling pretty decent coffee from my Brim. After all it was a $300 buy, not $3000.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taste of excellent espresso
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2019
1. You never get this quality machine on this price.

2. I've tried two espresso machines one is Breville BES840XLand the other one is Lelit PL41TEM. On breville, fine grinds not works very vell it bares drops espresso then it stops work after 2 weeks. On Lelit, steamer is lemon. It keeps throwing the water so you prertty much end up with mix of hot water and hot milk. (Seller gives a advice how I shall operate, but it didn't work)

3. The beauties of the Brim machine

- Compare to other machines, as the other reviewer pointed, machine handle is slided into receicer very smoothly

- Even though I use fine grind as 5, it drops so high quality espresso. (excellent espresso taste, crema looks really nice)

- Very easy to operate compare to Italian machines. Espresso shot button is automatic.

- Steamer is ideal. Water is barely leaking so I can drink just hot milk.

- As shown on the picture, I love all the components with excellent quality. The heavy temper is pretty which I guess around 25 dollar quality.

4. As shown on the picture, I see a small scratches on the edge. But it never affects to my point.

Overall, I used this machine only one week hope it works like happily ever after.
