WHAT ARE WATER CRYSTALS?

Water crystals are tiny super-absorbent polymers. They are about the size of a sugar crystal. They are added to potting mix or added to soil in a garden bed to increase the water holding capacity of the soil.

The Water crystals act like a sponge, making the crystal swell, creating a gel up to 300 times its original size, absorbing water and nutrients.

HOW TO USE


FILL YOUR CONTAINER WITH POTTING SOIL Be sure to leave a few inches from top of container.	MIX THE WATER CRYSTALS INTO THE SOIL Sprinkle the Aabaco Water Storing Crystals evenly throughout the root zone. Do NOT place on the soil surface.	ADD PLANT Place your plant in the soil and fill the remaining space with potting soil making sure to leave space from top.	JUST ADD WATER After planting, add water to allow crystals to absorb maximum amount of water and watch your plants flourish!

i love these crystals and been using them for years. i live in oklahomas southwest and growing anything here is a challenge because we often go for several weeks without any rain. these crystals save your plants from drying out. i use them in planters, but also inground. in planters i mix about a handful with soil and let them soak up as much water as possible, so the bottom of the planter is basically a little soil and waterfilled crystals, than i mix some more crystals in the rest of the soil until the planter is full, add the plant and rewater really well, after that i usually only have to water once a week and my plants are thriving. for inground plantings i dig a hole at least a foot deep, mix some of that soil with crystals that already filled with water, return the soil/crytalmixture and plant on top of it. this works very well especially for tomatoes and cucumber that have a high water consumption. hope these inspires someone to try the crystals, the price for a pound is much much cheaper than buying a couple of ounces at the gardencenters. i store some of my waterfilled crystals that are ready to use in a small fliptop cooler that i can easy carry around while i work in my garden.

I live in Texas. I love to garden but here in the hot summers it's almost impossible to keep a garden flourishing. I usually have to water two to three times a day in the summer for my containers. I used this in my potting mix for some dwarf peppers and tomatoes in 10 gallon grow bag bags. It works wonders. I'm now only watering every other day! I also used it in a new greenstalk that I just purchased. I will be buying more to add to my planter boxes and other greenstalks. Going forward, I plan on using this on everything I plant!
