Yes, it could be a little longer and so could the cord, but overall I'm pleased.

I vacuumed with the short wand and thought, this isn't going to work. Then we found the thick plastic part that pushes down to allow you to make it longer. It is there!

Yes, the wand is adjustable. Area rugs are tricky because the vacuum is so powerful it will pull the rug if there is no furniture to hold it in place. I use it on my berber rugs and it works well. There are 2 heads, a multi floor head and a carpet head, I use the multi for all rugs and like it. You can also adjust the suction down if needed.

yes, it telescopic wand extends to a significant length, enabling you to reach drapes, curtains, ceiling corners, and also to reach the floor without having to bend over. a very comfortable length.

DOES THIS VACUUM HAVE A TELESCOPIC WAND/HANDLE? IT SEEMS VERY SHORT.

This vacuum works on low pile rugs and carpet.

It has another attachment for carpets and it worked well on my short carpets. I would say yes.

I have a berber area rug and it latches on with powerful suction so it picks up the dirt but can be a pain because there is so much suction that if it is a small rug without any weight on it, the vacuum will just pull the rug. There is another head that comes with it for carpets but I haven't bothered to change it as the hard floor (called "multi floor") works fine. You can also adjust the suction down but I find it doesn't pick up the dirt so well then (makes sense).

i think it will work better on flat, low pile carpets like area rugs and things. the carpet attachment MAY work on berber, but the rotating brush will not spin on carpet. you're better off getting a vacuum designed for carpets for your berber.

does it work well on Berber or other short carpet?

Hi Ida, good eye this is a great canister. It has a 16.5 foot long cord that is retractable!

about 25 feet. I do wish it was longer. Yes it does retract.

I have to say the cord is rather short but it does retract and I love the vacuum so much I don't mind having to unplug halfway through. Sorry I don't know the exact length, maybe 25'.

the cord is 16ft long and is automatically retractable with a pushbutton. very handy and convenient.
