    Helpful tip: The screws can work themselves loose over time and you'll lose them. (E.g. during hiking, skiing, etc you'll reach for the 3-Way and a screw will be missing, rendering the device useless). Put dabs of super glue at the ends of the machine screws to act as thread locker. LET IT DRY for 10 minutes before reassembling. You're NOT glueing parts together; you're applying a thread locker that helps keep the screws from gradually coming loose over time while you're in transit. ...Do NOT use Loctite Blue Thread Locker!! That stuff destroys some plastics. Just use normal super glue and let it try alone on the metal. The dried "gunk" will act as a thread locker. And obviously since it's dried, you won't bond anything together permanently.Before I addressed the screw issue, one of the arms broke during light use. The plastic cracked around one of the metal screw nuts and now it's useless. This device is way too expensive for a plastic device that cracks so easily. If it was aluminum, I suspect it'd be perfect. The design for this selfie stick is awesome.They DID replace the arm that cracked, though. So that's a good sign for customer service. They were friendly and helpful. A nice surprise considering how well-known their customer support issues are. (Check BBB rating and their message boards.) Maybe the company is improving!

    We bought a GoPro for a trip through Iceland and purchased this for it, mostly to take selfies. We needed something that was good quality and could withstand some abuse because we knew we'd be taking it to and submerging it in the Blue Lagoon, a geothermally-heated natural pool with a very high silica content. We floated and soaked and took gratuitous photos and video of ourselves all day using this and it came out no worse for wear, once we wiped off the white silica residue after it had dried out. The angle points let you configure this so you can hold it and film yourself without your arm being overtly outstretched in the shot, as is typical in most selfies. This was a big plus for us as it made our video look more natural. The knobs also tighten down very well, we used this to shoot a whale watching trip on a speedboat racing across heavy swells and the arms never collapsed. The little tripod on the bottom was hard to separate from it's screw-in holster without feeling like we were about to break it when we tried to pull it off, and be aware that if you adjust the arms or leave any flex in the collapsed grip while you're recording with your GoPro (especially if it's in the completely-enclosed water proof case), you will hear the joints creaking in the video playback. This isn't a fault in the product, that's just the nature of vibration. If you're going to use this and need the cleanest possible audio, either tighten the knobs down REALLY TIGHTLY or buy something more professionally-focused.

    I was not prety sure about to placing the order for this product due to all the negative comments about.
    Now, I have used it for one month, and I do not regret or have any complain about the 3 way grip.
    It is a good product, I dont think it looks cheap or fragile. it is very useful for the ways you can use. and... the tripod is not very stable? yes, it is correct... BUT this is an action camera, not a camera for studio pics... it is supposed to be on your bike, your head, your surf board, etc. I think the tripod is a plus (very useful BTW) if you place it on a flat surface, works great!
    I definetely recommend this product, its nice, looks elegant and works perfect for the self pictures!
    IMPORTANT: if you are waiting to receive a LONG arm, you should analyze better. The 3 way grip is not so long as some other products offered for cameras and cellphones.

    - Can get different angles of shooting
    - Very rigid, feels unbreakable. I was skeptical when I first bought this, since it was made of plastic. However, it definitely feels as rigid and firm as a metal frame, doesn't seem breakable.
    - Can use as a chest "mount", very stable footage
    - Rubber grip is nonslip (holding it 1 handed and switching was no problem when tandem paragliding)

    Cons:
    - The tripod itself can handle significant weight, but only when on a flat surface. Anything other than the parallel to a flat ground will cause it to warp a bit
    - Over time, screws are much looser, and I haven't seen a replacement tripod mount for it if a leg breaks?
    - With strong winds (ex. timelapses on a mountain), the camera will shake a big, but will not ruin timelapses (Great job on GoPro's end)
    - Top heavy (meaning it's center of mass is not directly in line with the base, so in full extension, you will need to tilt the camera OR angle the joints so that the center of mass lies directly over the center of the base. This means it's almost impossible to get a full extension for a shot without hands.

The only thing that I didn't like is that due to the weight distribution, it is not very stable when you use I the tripod attachment and you don't have a flat surface to keep it on. Nor is it stable if you try to bend it in an angle when you use the Tripod attachment.

    This is probably my favorite GoPro accessory. I love the built in tripod. Sturdy and well made. Easy to grip, even with gloves on(I take it snowboarding). Makes changing your angle easy without tiring out your arm. All that up and down is killer. Also the fact that the camera mounts directly to this is great. I don't mind using the tripod "mount" but I feel like this is more secure. I've had other telescoping style monopods, but like the three way better. Yea it's more expensive but that's GoPro for you. So far it looks like they are the only ones who make anything like this?

    Sin duda uno de los mejores, a parte es de la marca original, versátil por todas las posiciones en que lo puedes usar, de material resistente y por lo tanto durable, se puede mojar y sin problema. A mi me tocó comprarlo con una muy buena oferta y ha valido cada peso, aún que se compre al precio normal, no te vas a arrepentir.

    Very adaptable tripod. Can be used as selfie stick or mini tripod. It’s light weight and compact and easily fits in my camera bag. When extended its quite a length and ideal for walking worms eye footage or held above head height for elevated eagle eye view shots.

    Good value. It opens up a wide range of creative possibilities.

    This arm is expensive, but definitely worth the money. I initially had bought the best rated off brand arm with the same style, because the price difference was quite significant. However, on my first time using it, it broke apart! I was so lucky I didn't lose my GoPro. When this came in the mail, the contrast in quality was immediately apparent. I love the versatility and it is way sturdier. I would definitely recommend skipping the hassle and just buying the original brand. I bring this on every trip I go on!
