All In A Day’s Haunting

I’d come to terms with what Sadie Hatch did to me five years ago, setting me up to take the fall for her blackmail scheme the way she did. I’d had time, my six months behind bars, to come to terms with my innocence, and subsequent loss of said naiveté. There’d been a time I’d held a grudge, but that time was long gone.

The fact she was dead helped. Did it make me a bad person I wasn’t sorry? Sometimes I wondered. Then again, other times? This life—and the afterlife—had a funny way of evening out the scales of justice. I’d seen it happen often enough to know judging myself for what I was thinking at any given minute was a waste of energy better used in other endeavors.

Medium and paranormal debunker Alice Moore has found romantic bliss for the first time, but her happy heart does nothing to pay the bills. When a fellow ghost hunter hires her and boyfriend Denver Hatch to investigate the haunting of a Florida plantation house, she reluctantly agrees. Roman Ellis isn’t her favorite person in the world, but the money he’s offering is too much to turn down. If only she’d listened to her instincts… when she stumbles over a freshly dead body—the long ago departed more her forte—she’s suddenly in the middle of a murder investigation and her record makes her a suspect. Can she uncover the killer and prove her innocence? In this spin-off series to the award-winning
Fiona Fleming Cozy Mysteries, medium and paranormal blogger/debunker Alice Moore travels the US uncovering truth, fraud and murder!

I'm a USA Today bestselling, international multiple-award-winning writer with a passion for the voices in my head. With many (many!) titles across many (many!) genres, all in happy publication, there's no end in sight...

That being said, I'm short (permanent), happy (I have the best life ever) and blonde (for ever and ever). I love to talk one on one about the deepest topics and can't seem to stop seeing the big picture. I happily live on Prince Edward Island, Canada, home to Anne of Green Gables and the most beautiful red beaches in the world, with my multiple cats and pug overlord and lady.

Alice is a wonderful character and I really enjoyed reading this book. I can recommend this highly. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I will be getting more of this series.

Most people do like a good mystery once and a while, I'm no exception. It keeper the reader on the edge of their seat waiting to see what would happen next. I would indeed recommend this book to those like myself who do enjoy the twist and turns of a good mystery.

A paranormal investigation by a fraud. He planned and used everyone to improve his life. Alice Moore was to be his first victim. But oops, someone kills him. Good story, kept me guessing till the ending.

I love the story. I've read others you have written and love the storylines in all. Th problem I have personally is there is too much of nothing and fluff and thoughts. Sometimes 2 to 3 pages of unnecessary background, thoughts or whatever. Condense it down to just the necessary basics. I just skim and scroll though the dribble and don't read it. I really really believe that if you could bypass that and really just do the story you'd be a best seller in bookstores from here to Timbuktu.

This is a spin-off of another favorite series, Fiona Fleming, and the first book of this one is fabulous! Alice and her boyfriend, Denver, are very likeable and the storyline is very interesting. A favorite character from the Fleming series makes an appearance and plays an important role in this book, and it further suggests the possibility of even more Fleming characters appearing in future books. Alice Moore is learning she has a talent for solving crimes, and being a medium has its advantages and adds an interesting flare to the story. I am excited to read more of Alice Moore in the future!

I enjoyed reading the story but I don’t like all the extra adjectives in there to describe the situations and people’s thoughts and feelings. The author repeatedly told us how weak the main character thought she was and then as she grew stronger it was repeated over and over again how strong she was. To me that’s a waste of space. I’ve read this authors other works and really really liked her books.

One may think they have it figured out early, then it goes in a different direction switching so often one can become completely confused! Good development of characters, leaving one wondering about their future endeavors. Easy, entertaining read. I recommend this book for those with little time to sit for long periods and finish in one sitting. Fun to contemplate all the possible scenarios without losing interest in where the author is going.

Social Medium is a new series by Patti Larsen that features Alice Moore. Alice, a medium, and her boyfriend, Denver, were introduced in Patti's Fiona Fleming series and now we get to learn more about them. Also making an appearance in the first book of the series is Fiona's Dad, now a private detective. Alice's first "case" of the series involves a haunted mansion in Florida and also a huge alligator. I highly recommend for light reading.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite by this author

I have read other books by this author and was disappointed with this one hence the 3 stars. Too much internal dialogue, the heroine is supposed to be getting stronger yet at every turn her boyfriend betrays her and she is okay with that. Left a bitter taste in th end. It was too bad as the murder mystery was excellent.

Framed for the murder of a man who was trying to ruin her career, medium Alice Moore, has to put herself in danger to solve the murder mystery and clear her name. A good, absorbing read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Im sorry but this book was boring
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 13, 2024
I'm sorry but there were no ghost encounters from the beginning to near the end.

I just couldn't read no more as the lead female was just annoying to say the least.

Yes she was put in care ending up nieve to be put in jail for fraud she didn't knowingly do.

Didn't read about any ghost encounters except seeing one in the morgue but didn't communicate.

2.0 out of 5 stars Add-on to an earlier series

This book is a spinoff of the Fiona Fleming series, which I haven't read yet. Half the book is Alice referencing people and past events in Reading, Vermont where the Flemings live. That thins out this story and slows it down. My advice is to read the Fleming books that feature Alice first, before you try Alice on her own.

Nope not a great story! About a medium but no sign of ghosts 🤷🏼‍♀️. More a whodunnit and not very good at that. To much waffle sorry!
