Reading these books is like going on a rollercoaster, exciting, a little scary and sometimes your heart skips a beat but all in all it is a wild ride. From the first chapter you are submersed in Demonicon, a realm where the thirst for power is unquenchable and Syd finds herself yet again an unwitting scapegoat in her grandmother's murder and she will stop at nothing to bring that person to justice even if it is the last thing she does. This is escapism at its best, suitable for all ages to enjoy and filled with touches of sweet romance, plenty of twists and action to keep you interested. Syd is such a likable heroine, sarcastic and quick to anger, always engaging her mouth before she thinks. She has an overwhelming sense of family loyalty to those she loves. Gifted with power that others could only dream about Syd is one for taking on just causes, managing to get into situations where even angels would fear to tread and this time is no exception. Thanks Patti for being such a prolific writer, it is a pleasure as always and keep them coming please.

I saw Ms. Larsen's first book Family Magic on BookBub.com and thought it sounded interesting, a which demon gal, different. That hooked me to buy the first story in the 20 book series. The writing and characters kept me hooked through the remaining 19 books. I rarely will buy Ebooks when they're $5.99 ... after Family Magic I didn't blink, just bought the next one and downloaded. I just had to see what was going to happen next. I really got invested in the story line, wanting to know what twists and turns would happen next. I don't know how many times I burst out laughing or cried my eyes out as the story unfolded (make sure you have a box of tissues for the last couple books you'll need them), or how often I didn't want to put the book down (but had to because my lunch hour was over) The characters were believable ... some you fell in love with, others you loved to hate. Anything I write about the story will give away what happens, but so you have to read them and see what happened. You won't be sorry you picked them up. I just wish there was more after book story, but there are more in the Hayle Coven universe. I read the books one after another, so this is the same review for all of them.

I'm 50 and enjoy young adult books because the lack of sex scenes in them You get to know the characters more in them. Although Syd does have sex in some of them, there is no description of it, just mentioned that she did have it and maybe waking up with her boyfriend. My niece is 14 and I'd give them to her to read.

Love these books! Once again Sydlynn is thrown into a mess that only she can fix, this time on Demonicon! Her grandmother, the ruler of Demonicon, has been murdered by someone posing as Sydlynn. Syd has been arrested & is awaiting trial when she is kidnapped by rebel forces & in typical Syd fashion things get pretty wild! This author takes the reader on an amazing adventure with this storyline & I highly recommend it!

Along the way she meets some new friends, and even meets her grandfather. In the middle of that something is going on with her little sister and she just does not have the time to focus on that right now (feeling the guilt).

Lots of excitement as Syd gets stronger, faces her opponents and tracks down her grandmother's killer.
