Inheriting a crown has weighed heavily on King Grantham of Athawick. Rebellion is brewing, his family has been attacked, and the last thing he needs is a certain woman getting under his skin! Royal guest Lady Ophelia thinks the king is dismissive and forever-frowning. She'll happily tweak his nose; she just needs to remember to protect her heart.This is the fourth book in the Regency Royals series, and I would recommend reading in order to avoid spoilers and better appreciate the family dynamic. This book also has a tie-in to Michaels' previous series, The Three Mrs, and Ophelia has a conversation with Grantham about the storyline of those books (which are also excellent, and I highly recommend them!).This story is everything that I wanted! Despite her past, Ophelia is warm, friendly, and has the kind of bright personality that attracts others to her. Even those that don't want to like her...like Grantham. She captivates him and he's frosty in response. But he desperately needs to be wanted as a man, not just a King. I loved reading about Grantham and Ophelia, how they met and how Ophelia decided to get under his skin. When they got to Althawick things changed between them , they became slightly friendly. The chemistry was there and it continued to simmer til it boiled over. They got their HEA, though it took some turmoil to get there.I highly recommend this book! 👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤

I have discovered an amazingly sensual, scorching hot series in the Regency Royals. The world-building in this series is magnificent. I adamantly advise reading these four novels in order as they build upon one another and to get the most enjoyment. I have been waiting for King Grantham’s story. King Grantham is bogged down with the responsibility and expectations of being King of Athawick. Grantham is thunderstorms and all things grumpy. He has distanced himself from the assistance of his family, which makes his loneliness that much more severe. Lady Ophelia is a guest to the newest Princess of Athawick. Ophelia is sunshine and vibrancy. Grantham is instantly drawn to Ophelia but is reluctant to let her in his inner circle.

I enjoyed Grantham’s love of his country and strict sense of duty. I also loved how only Ophelia could bring levity and light to Grantham. The connection and sensuality between the couple are electric. The plot gives answers to what is causing unrest in Grantham’s kingdom that has been present in all four books. The story is flawless in its delivery and has enough passion and intrigue to keep me raptly turning the page. I loved the close-knit family dynamic that blossoms throughout each book.

To Kiss A King is the fourth book in The Regency Royals series. I cannot recommend these books enough! Grantham and Ophelia’s romance is by far my favorite. Jess Michaels continues to create a sensual, romantic world full of vivid characters and plenty of desire that demands the reader’s attention. I received this book as an ARC. However, I took the time to read the first three books in the series; I am happy with that decision. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss one of these intricately, lovingly designed romances. I urge you to fall into the luscious world of Athawick; you will never want to return. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through Netgalley and the publisher. To Kiss a King is the fourth book in the steamy Regency Royals series by Jess Michaels. The romance stands alone, but you'll enjoy this story more if you've followed the couples in the previous volumes and also the family relationships as the series progressed. This has been my favorite so far!

Grantham, recently crowned King of Athawick after the death of his father, is not having an easy time of it. His family never does what he demands of them, and there are also rumblings and rumors of an uprising against the Crown. Who wouldn't be grumpy? To top it all off, a guest of the newest Princess of Athawick seems determined to vex him at every possible opportunity! Lady Ophelia doesn't know why she's attracted to the prickly Grantham. One moment he sends her scorching glances, and the next he's frowning and rude to her. She is determined to bring him down a notch, but fiery passion soon overtakes them both. Will Grantham be able to protect his Kingdom AND get the girl, or will he lose everything?

I adored all the heroes in the first three books of the series, but Grantham is my man! He has a wonderful and supportive family - though they defied him to obtain true love - but growing up as the heir to the king was miserable. His father was never happy with Grantham, and would punish him in cruel ways when displeased. Grantham was always close to his siblings, especially brother Remi, but the past treatment by his father and now with the weight of the world on his shoulders, he is a gruff and grumpy man and has pulled away from them. With the threat of an uprising things were tense; he then had to dismiss Blairford, the courtier he inherited from his father, due to disloyalty. He didn't have time to be distracted by the beguiling Lady Ophelia! Yet she would not be ignored. She responded to Grantham's grouchiness with sunshine to irritate him. She knew from past experience that romance for her didn't end well, yet still she wanted Grantham. When they decided to become lovers things were scorching! It was obvious they needed each other. Love scenes were graphic but not crude; I needed to wear oven mitts to hold my Kindle! My favorite relationship in the story, however, was the one between Grantham and Remi when they finally reconnected as brothers. There was a twist to the uprising storyline that was a shocker. This was a great story, but I'm even more excited about the next book: Queen Giabella and Dash. I can't wait!
