    I am in love with all of these characters now! Showing how broken characters help each other heal and cherish each other, scars and all, is Patricia Eddy's forte. The climactic battle was truly challenging to read; I had to keep reminding myself to breathe, and I was really afraid that some of the main characters were going to die and leave us. And it was so rewarding to read a PNR where the women stood up to the dominant males they loved, and taught them that they could love, support, and protect them without overprotecting them out of living their own lives!

    Note: while there is definitely steam and some sex, this series is a well written and complex urban fantasy and romance, not porn. If you get irritated when plot, character development, and world building delay you from reaching the next wankfest, read something else.😘😘😘😘

    It was a full circle ending!! Loved it. Poor Peter he had been suffering since book one. Yes in the grand scheme of things compared to sameen he hasn’t suffered quite nearly as much as her, but she end so eloquently stated you can’t compare pain. It hurts and affects differently. Impacts are long not known. And some take more time to heal and adapt to their new normal. I liked how he was protective and growly. While it annoyed me how Cade was from time to time. (Spoiler**)Yes he was in the same boat when Mara went missing. But he treated Peter like he want allowed to be protective and possessive of sameen. Yes he has been a dick for months but that’s from dealing with everything that’s has happened to him as well as his family. Then basically Cade dismissed Peter for being protective of sameen when he was risking her to save Mara. Yes I get trying to save Mara. But sameen is his mate and isn’t Cades to sacrifice. It other than that. Cade redeemed himself and apologized because he couldn’t cope with the possible loss of his wife/mate and his baby. I liked the growth and change for Ewan and Regelus’ roles and love within the pack. Thank god for the ending with how things were for the 13. I don’t think I could handle a less satisfactory way for that to be over than this. And yay Paddy. SO COOL! Ahhh all the revelations. Can’t wait for epilogues.

    This book concludes the Shift Series and picks up where book 3 ends ( on a cliffhanger).
    I loved this series so much and how well the characters were written throughout! Two wolf packs join up to fight with elementals, a vampire and a mysterious old man against The Thirteen, a group of practitioners trying to harness and control all the elementals.
    This book introduces Sameen, who turns out to be Peter's mate.
    There's non-stop action from start to finish and a tidy ending that talks about how each couple and the rest of the characters fare.
    All in all, like any good series, I didn't want it to end, but was happy with how it all turns out!
