I was very disappointed in this book. As I started reading it and getting into it, it ended and went on to another short story!
The author used profane language that was not called for, and jumped from one tale to the next. Don't waste your time or money on this book. I am glad I purchased it used and paid very little for it. It wasn't worth the postage! It looks as though the entire book is about Mrs. Simpson judging from the title. It is very deceiving from the cover. I don't understand the high praise for the author, Rose Tremain - totally not worth the read.
