Ryan (aka Growl) and Cara are *chef kisses* perfection! Their story is so raw and pain filled.Ryan “Growl” is such a tortured soul. His backstory is gut wrenching. He is known for being Falcone’s monster, covered in tattoos, and a brutal scar across his neck. He was given Cara as a gift, and she in turn was his most prized possession.Cara is a breath of fresh air. Though she follows in the normal Cora heroine guidelines (naive, a touch immature, very sheltered) she had a spark about her that I just loved. She had so much fire and heart. She wasn’t content with just being “gifted” to Growl. She fought for her mother and sister, until she was successful.I loved the dynamic between Growl and Cara. They just flowed together so seamlessly. Cara brought out a gentleness in Growl, and Growl in turn brought out the inner fight in Cara.*there are quit a few grammatical errors within the story but if you can get passed that it is a beautiful story.*

I read all bound by blood series a long time ago. Now rereading the whole series makes me know why I loved it so much!
Cora has an amazing way to write about feelings and darkness that pulls me to all possible emotions a reader can feel.
I loved Cora and Ryan (refusing to call him by any other name). The beginning was quite slow and specially hard to keep going if you like actions right away. However, it was a nice ride!
I cannot imagine someone going through everything Ryan went through and being able to not become more than a psychopath. Still, the happy ending was as expected and filled my reader heart with joy.

This was a good story, better than book 3, IMHO.
I really love the character of Growl and the relationship that developed with Cara.

My main problem was the error in this book - with spelling or using the wrong words, the wrong version of words. I've found over a dozen mistakes. Very annoying. Like, don't they pay people to proofread? The mistakes show sloppy work, and the author should deal with these word errors with the publisher.

Worth reading for sure.

Thank you Cora Reilly, for this updated and edited version! I am so glad you returned to this novel. It appears you have gone through the book with a fine tooth comb. As well, I love the changes you’ve made to Cara and Growl’s character development. It really was a great read this time around. Very hot, but both characters have their redeeming qualities now. I loved it.

I waited 14 months for this book. I was such a fan of the previous four installments. However, I am sad to say there appears to have been no editing done, for this book. There was an abundance of misspelled words. There were completely wrong words, in many of the sentences, which made it confusing to read at times. It appears as if she couldn't decide if she wanted to write the book in first person or third person point of view. The ENTIRE book is filled with point of view mistakes, often using both the first person point of view and third person point of view, in a single sentence.

Also, I agree with the other reviewers, in regards to the undeveloped storyline. I feel it could have used more action and character development, both.

However, I do love the fact that she integrated the NY familia. It is good to see them, again. And I adore Matteo's sense of humor.

‘Bound by vengeance’ was the book everyone was waiting for, for a very long time. We had to wait until 2017 to read it. Was the book worth the wait? Well, I liked the book and the story certainly held my attention until the end but with a few changes, I think it could have been better. I’m a little bit disappointed that after all this waiting, the ending felt a little bit rushed.

Cara’s father works for the Las Vegas mafia. Which means that she had a very sheltered childhood, protected from all dangers. But now she has come to an age where it’s common for the young daughters of the mafia men to get married. The husband get chosen by their fathers and that’s also the case with Cara. Cara’s father has chosen an important mafia man for Cara. Being the obedient daughter, Cara will marry him. Does she love him? No but that’s almost never the case in such marriages. But sadly, Cara’s father makes a mistake by trusting the wrong man. A mistake that gets him killed and Care a prisoner of the most dangerous man in the Las Vegas mafia. A man known by the name ‘Growl’. An assassin for the mafia, a man known for having no feelings, no mercy and no conscience. Sometimes living is a bigger punishment then being dead.

Growl knows what he is. He’s a man that survived a terrible childhood and he made sure that as an adult, people can’t hurt him anymore. He doesn’t care that this means that he’s alone all the time. It’s just the way it is. He never expected to get a gift from his boss and certainly not such a previous one. He has seen Cara on a party but he never though she would be his one day. But now he has her, he owns her and he wants her but he knows that she could be a danger for him. Because he may be the bad guy in this situation but she makes him feel things that he never felt before and everyone knows that feelings can get you in trouble and in this situation trouble could get him killed in the end!

Both, Cara and Growl, want things in life but one thing they both want is revenge. But what will happen to them when they get their revenge? Is revenge worth losing love for?

So let me start with the things that I liked about this story. I must confess that I couldn’t put the book down. The writing style of this story was fluent. Maybe strange to say but I liked Growl. He was a bad, cold man but he had his own principles. He kills and hurts people for a living but never just for fun. He was protective of Cara and I really liked that. So what about Cara? I missed a bit of emotions there.
One of the things that really surprised me was the fact that there were a lot of writing mistakes in the book. I can’t remember having this problem with Cora Reilly’s other books.
I would have LOVED an epilogue in this book and also some extra scenes about how Growl got out of the last situation. I missed some extra information at the end. It was a little bit over too soon.

Overall, the writing rhythm was there but the intense emotions just weren’t there for me . This book reminded me of a bit of ‘Bound by duty’ where I had the same feeling. Good but not fantastic.

Again I'm positively surprised! I managed to get surprised by two very different characters in Bound by Vengeance.
We left Boston and New York to Las Vegas, to meet Cara and Growl. Cara is a is young girl from the Camorra high society, and Growl the scary and mysterious soldier of the boss.
Cara come up as a strong girl who is courageous in a very difficult situation. Growl is a particularly traumatised guy, and together they will save each other and get their revenge. I wouldn't mind read another story with them. She made me think of Valentina with Dante. Girls who can save themselves.
