A new adult STANDALONE romance from USA Today bestselling author Siobhan Davis.

My dreams of attending Juilliard shattered the night tragedy struck my family.

That night, a part of me died inside.

Now, the only peace I find is in stolen moments on a rooftop where I dance to remember as much as to forget.

Until I literally stumble headfirst into Levi’s life.

He’s six feet two inches of ripped, hard, gorgeous temptation wrapped in a very irritating package. I swear he was sent to test me, because his hot-and-cold attitude pushes my buttons like no guy has before.

I don’t know at what point I fall, but he worms his way into my heart without me noticing. One moment we are trading insults, the next we’re shedding our clothes and surrendering to the searing-hot chemistry smoldering between us.

He breathes life into me again.

Before tearing me apart when I discover it’s all been a lie.

He says he kept his identity a secret for my protection.

Yet I’m all alone when his enemies come for me.

Angsty Rockstar Romance With A Twist

Angsty Rockstar Romance With A Twist
Incognito by Siobhan Davis4/5 StarsDakota is a strong girl who's gone through some major trauma. Her family is still putting together the pieces. She gives up her dreams of attending Juilliard as a dancer to follow the family business with her father, and attends a local university.Shawn is a rockstar who has a stalker that has made several attempts on his life. In order to escape while his security closes in on the perpetrators, he attends a university in Iowa in disguise. He meets Dakota and is instantly drawn to her. Their pain speaks to one another- even while they are trying to fight their attraction. They find the support system they so desperately need in each other. Only one problem- no one knows Shawn is a celebrity. Not even Dakota.I really enjoyed this book, and the mystery subplot. Siobhan does such a great job with plot twists. I had no idea who the stalkers could be until the end. The relationship development and angsty push/pull between Shawn & Dakota was fantastic. There was some miscommunication, but not so much that it made the main characters seem desperate and insecure.I loved the tie-in characters from Inseparable also. It made me happy to get a glimpse into their happily ever after. It's definitely one of my goals this year to get through all of the books Siobhan has written. She's one of my go-to angsty authors.

Incognito was my first Siobhan Davis book and it was AMAZING!!!! As far as the fact that this was my first book by this author, I know, I know… I am questioning what rock I just crawled out from under myself! If this is what I have to look forward to, I am seriously going to need to take a month off my blog commitments and catch up in every book she’s written because I freaking LOVED Incognito. Without repeating the blurb, or giving a spoiler-esque review, I am going to make it very simple – pop superstar hero and a small-town college heroine meet under extreme circumstances. And a whole lot of angst and sexiness transpire from there. Trust me, nothing I could write regarding the synopsis of this book would be better than the one Siobhan wrote for us! Instead, allow me to tell you why I loved this book so much!

Incognito was so many things that I am only going to touch on a few of the ones that I loved in this review. However, should you read it for yourself, I have no doubt that you will be able to add considerably to my list. First and foremost, Incognito was extremely well written. I often find that while I read, I critique books or get lost in the mistakes that have been missed in the editing and/or proofreading process. Therefore, I don’t always enjoy the story as much overall. It’s hard to see your own mistakes when you’re writing, and that’s why its so important to hire someone to go through your story objectively. I cannot tell you how much I value a book lacking excessive errors. When I don’t have to put my work cap on or highlight the crap out of a book, I feel like the authors deserve attention kudos and that’s the reason I am addressing my feelings in this review. I read an ARC of Incognito and would have expected to find some measure of mistakes as they are often still in the process of having a second edit (or in the hands of a proofreader). I was impressed by how well-edited Incognito was and was thus able to surrender to the story itself.

Incognito’s plot was equally brilliant and beautiful. Possessing an excellent combination of angst, sweet and sizzle made this enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance a perfect choice for any reader. Now, Rockstar romances tend to be some of my favorite reads and it was that link that had me jumping all over the story when I first read the blurb. I do have authors that I automatically one-click each book they release, and I have heard of Siobhan before, but never had the chance to grab a book she’s written. That all changed when I read the blurb for Incognito since I was so intrigued! Now I can tell you that this book truly delivered a plot that kept me turning pages for hours on end. The story was mostly unpredictable and the things that I figured out ahead of time were trivial.

Another major seller for me was how much I loved the characters in Incognito. That includes both the primary and secondary characters. Incidentally, some of those secondary characters I loved enough to hope I will get to read about them being on the receiving end of their own HEAs! As far as our hero and heroine of Incognito, they had amazing dynamics! Shawn was the sexy as sin Rockstar, who had reached the point in his fame where everyone looked at him as a meal ticket. He was jaded and justifiably so! His surly nature seemed to be limited to Dakota but the sparks that flew every time they were together nearly ignited my kindle and made the eventual surrender all the sweeter. I loved how Shawn stepped out of his comfort zone and took chances with regards to Dakota that he hadn’t with any woman in his past. While he is partly to blame for issues that arise between them, he also doesn’t hesitate at making things right between the pair repeatedly. As far as a heroine, I loved Dakota. She is beautiful inside and out but her snarky side was fabulous! She wasn’t a pushover and called out everyone the same way I do! She is incredibly strong which is deftly exhibited as we delve farther into her story. Dakota’s family tragedy was shocking for me - I truly didn’t see that twist coming. Both hero and heroine showed character progression, yet Dakota’s spoke to me the most. If I had experienced half of the horrors that she found herself living, I am not sure that I would’ve been able to get out of the fetal position – much less go away to College! She continued to be hit while she was down again, and again until I expected she would break. Only Siobhan took Dakota on a journey I wasn’t expecting, and I loved that there was no formula for this romance. (Or at least no formula past boy meets girl, boy likes girl, HEA ensues! 😉) As a romance novel, I expected passion. Yet, the passion I expected in Incognito was superseded in intensity and I loved just how sexy the story got! I literally needed a change of panties and a cold shower before I had gotten halfway through the book.

As I stated above, there really are more reasons to read Incognito and I have just touched on a few important ones to me. If you are like me and just finding Siobhan Davis, don’t pass up your chance to read this story. I already one-clicked several more titles by the author just based on my love of this book. If you are a longtime fan of Siobhan then you know that everything I wrote about in this review is already true. As a matter of fact, I am surprised you even read the reviews 😉 but regardless, don’t miss Incognito!

I was so hyped to read this, but you can guess by the title what it’s going to be. Some guy hides and falls in love with a girl who has been through a lot of stuff. Quick read, but didn’t have my jaw dropping like some of Siobhans’ other books.

Incognito is Siobhan's second standalone and I really enjoyed it. The blurb gives you all the information that you truly need to do know so I will do my best in not repeating any of that nor give anything crucial away. And yes, the blurb may sound similar or like another rock start romance, but it's Siobhan's twist and her writing that make this story so enjoyable.

Shawn and Dakota are both battling their own wars. Shawn is trying to stay under the radar and finally enjoy life as just a "normal" every day college student. He's been in the limelight for many years and his life has been in overdrive since he got picked up years ago. Now that is he "forced" to be normal, he is really enjoying life as a much slower pace.

Dakota did more that put her dreams of Julliard on the backside - she has chosen to go into the family business. While it's not her dream, it's what she knows is best for her and her family's future. But at night, she escapes her new reality and dances away in the moonlight.

Shawn and Dakota are both so wrong and so right for one another. As they try to fight against the attraction they have, the electricity just builds. These two are strong together and for one another. There is a lot of angst and suspense in this book - a lot of that comes from assumptions on both their parts. While I felt at their age their communication should have been more mature, Siobhan also does a great job of showing how social media and technology play a very key role in how people react to things.

As I said, this book blurb may feel like it's the same but it's the added twists and plotting that makes this book stand out. Siobhan has this way with her writing of putting in the characters shoes and just feeling everything - you become the characters.

Siobhan writes such amazing characters. Not only do I love her main characters but I love the secondary characters in this book. They all play such key and integral roles in this book that it just makes the story all the more entertaining

This book is a standalone and can be read solely on its own. There are characters from her other standalone, Inseparable, who make an appearance in this one. However, reading either book in whatever order will in no way impede one over the other.

Siobhan has written another story that I found myself devouring in hours and wanting more from her.

Shawn is a popstar who loves the music but is beginning to dislike the life. Everyone wants something from him, so it is hard to know who has his best interest at heart and who he can trust. To make matters worse he has now attracted the attention of a stalker, so he is going to become Levi to study accounting in college and work on his music until everything blows over.

Dakota’s life took an abrupt turn a year ago when a devastating loss had her giving up her dream of dancing at Julliard to study accounting at the University of Iowa to be close to her family and honor the dream of a loved one. She is driven to dance under the darkness of night when no one can see her as that is the only time she feels complete.

From their first meeting they are drawn to each other and even though they can barely handle the baggage in their own lives they can’t seem to stay away from each other but are the feelings they have for each other strong enough to overcome the secrets that stand between them?

This story takes you on a journey filled with heat, drama, angst and chemistry as these two characters fight to deal with their pasts so that they can have the future they were meant to. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Nice fast faced read read in less than a day. Dakota and Shawn both have some trouble in their past and face quite a few obstacles. A few twists and turn in their story as well. Gave three stars due to the fact that I wish we saw more of their relationship with out all the drama and troubles.

I really like this book, it kept me interest from the very first page. The characters were relatabe especially Dakota who was written as strong young woman. TABS was my favourite character, she kept me laughing and should get her own book. This is my first time reading this author and I cannot wait to read another one of her books. Highly recommend this book and her.

In love with Levi/shawn!!

I don’t think I’ve read a Siobhan book I didn’t like. Her writing style is fantastic. I love how she creates characters and crafts her stories, weaving them into her larger world. Incognito is no different. It’s a quick read, telling the story of Dakota and Shawn as they try to work out their love story. It will be a while before I forget about their struggles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another 5 Star Read!

Incognito is one of those books that consumes you and has you reading late into the night. Siobhan Davis never fails to deliver the unputdownable stories her readers have come to expect. Due to the way Siobhan Davis writes, you soon become lost in the story and feel like you're there with the characters going through what they're going through. You can't help but fall in love with Dakota and Shawn who will take a small piece of your heart with them when you get to the end of their story. Even now, over a week later, I'm still thinking about this amazing couple who help each other to heal and find themselves again.

“That hidden inside this shell of a person somewhere lies the real Dakota Gray.” - Dakota

For me, I feel the storyline of Incognito wasn't reminiscent to any of Siobhan Davis’ previous books. I find each standalone/series to always be unique, but just as addictive. As for Shawn, what better way to go incognito then surround yourself with people who would never expect to run into a famous singer around campus. Daisy may be his biggest fan, but she would never in a million years expect to meet Shawn, so it doesn't even enter her mind it could possibly be her celebrity crush when he seems familiar. The plot for this story is so simple, but also so creative and believable. It just shows how talented Siobhan Davis is.

“Because, for the last few years, I’ve lost all sight of the real Shawn Lucas.” - Shawn/Levi

We also get to say hello to well loved friends from Inseparable as Angelina and Devin pop up several times. I loved getting to see what they're up to now, and I'm so glad that Siobhan Davis allows Devin to show that possessive side of his when it comes Angelina. After reading Incognito, I immediately jumped into Inseparable so I could revisit the emotional roller-coaster ride Devin and Angelina take towards becoming the special couple they are now.

“Maybe we were meant to meet at this juncture in our lives. To be there for each other.” - Dakota

Dakota says the following about a song written by Shawn; “That was beautiful, and it conveyed so much emotion. Like it was sad and haunting and then heartwarming and uplifting at the same time. And definitely romantic.”. I feel this also says beautifully the journey this 5 star read takes you on. As with any of Siobhan Davis’ books, I can't recommend this one enough. And if this is your first book by this very talented author, then I can guarantee you'll become addicted and want to read every book she's written!

4.0 out of 5 stars secret identity real love
Reviewed in Canada on May 10, 2022
Overall not the most dramatic story by this author which I was actually kind of relieved. I know going into a Siobhan Davis read to hold on to some tissues. she usually has my tears streaming and my stomach in my throat from all the loop de loops she makes with my heart. This is a much less dramatic fake identity type romance. The Hero Shawn is a pop rockstar being stalked and needs to lie low for awhile. Dakota is still feeling the aftershocks of devastation her family endured a year ago. Since her life veered off course she’s now at U of I and her new classmate is all kinds of alluring but a seriously grumptastic. Falling in love is inevitable but the universe seems to try to throw everything at them to keep them apart. Will they beable escape the clutches of his stalker and or will her family dynamics get in the way. My only issue is I wish there was more with her dad and we get a conclusion with the ex BF/ex best friend. Trigger warnings
