About this ebook

A dangerous truth revealed…

A prominent member of the D.C. community has been murdered, pulling Lieutenant Sam Holland into yet another high-stakes homicide investigation that has her trying to connect the dots between a dead woman and the friends and family who’d turned against her right before her untimely death. With numerous scandals still fresh within the department’s ranks, Sam is under more than the usual amount of pressure on the job. All the while, Sam’s husband, Vice President Nick Cappuano, faces mounting calls to declare his intention to run for president in the coming election, leaving the second couple feeling the strain at home—and on the job as the family endures the first holidays without their beloved patriarch, Skip Holland. As always, when things become too hot to handle on the job, Sam and Nick turn to each other for solace in the storm.

A perfect addition to the Fatal Series and even though this is book 16, I will never tire of Lieutenant Sam Holland and her husband Vice President Nick Cappuano. Every book in this series seems better than the last and that’s pretty impressive writing from Ms Force. Sam is looking into a cold case as well as dealing with numerous scandals within her department, add in the pressures of the public wanting her husband to run for for President and you get a captivating story that will draw you in from the first page to the last line. The holidays are also approaching and this is the first without Sam’s father Skip Holland and that adds yet another depth to this tale.... I loved being back in Sam and Nicks world, I love catching up with them as well as their family and friends, I was captivated from the first page and there was no putting down until I had read the final line. I was on the edge of my seat as the emotions took over and I was left reeling as Sam faced betrayal and heartache. As always the chemistry this couple share is intense and the banter is witty....oh and let’s not forget the epilogue......

I’m a fan of Marie Force’s many Series. I have read each book of the Fatal Series. And as each book was released I would read and savor the progression of Sam and Nick’s love story, their achievements, disappointments, heartache and struggles while Sam’s solved crimes and Nick faced political pressures. Fatal Fraud is the 16th book in the the Fatal Series and it does not disappoint!!! Sam and Nick work as a team while facing questions from Scotty regarding a reporter’s poor choice of wording in Fatal Accusation, “Lieutenant, our viewers would like to know if you and the vice president are still planning to have children of your own.” Nick announces his decision regarding the nomination for the presidency which results in Sam accepting secret service protection. The detectives solve a murder resulting from a large Ponzi scheme and find how and where the money has been hidden. Gonzo is released from rehab and faces decisions regarding his future. The FBI are thoroughly looking at the criminal problems in the Police Department’s ranks. The first victims support group takes place. There is no stone left unturned in Fatal Fraud! The book is actioned and emotionally paced. As the reader, I was once again caught up in Nick and Sam’s life. Marie has the unique ability that me feel like I’m part of this wonderful extended family and not an outsider looking in. Fatal Fraud is so worth reading!

Sam and Nick are back 🥳🥳 And for me, it's the best one yet! As Nick has finally made a decision as to whether he will run for President, Sam is investigating the murder of a fraudster, who it's fair to say everyone wanted dead. And the FBI are starting their investigation into the MPD after Sam arrested Conklin and Captain Hernandez in relation to the shooting that eventually killed her beloved dad Skip. But that's just the tip of the iceberg of a story that had so much depth and feeling, and honestly, it had me belly laughing one minute and sobbing the next. Additionally, the mystery at the heart of Fatal Fraud was on point and had me guessing until the very end. Not to mention Sam and Nick are as wonderful as ever and are truly the icing on a story that I couldn't help but devour. Would highly recommend.
