I read Enshrine a few weeks ago, and it wasn’t until today that I could sit down and properly form my thoughts about this book. Enshrine really hit a bit close to home to me with his cancer plot line. I related to Callie in a way that many may not be able to understand. It’s not that I have faced cancer, but I have watched from the sidelines as someone I loved very much when through many of these same emotions. I also share the same career as Callie fictionally does as a scientific researcher, and in my case, a cancer cell biologist. So just from those two facts alone you can see why this book was both hard for me to read and for my mind to let go off after so many weeks.

Callie is given what she thinks is a death sentence and as a scientific researcher, she knows the odds and facts better than anyone else around her. Callie rescinds into a state of depression with the darkness creeping closer and closer to completely enshrining her. She has no one to lean on for support, and she refuses to let even her friend in to help her. She will face this demon or die alone because loneliness is the only thing she has ever known. That is until a very unlikely and surprising man comes barreling into her life just when she was about to give up completely.

The way Bruno was first described you’d would have never imagined how his character would turn out to be in the end. I was afraid for Callie when this dangerous man broke down her door and thrust her back into the land of living. He was almost an enigma that floored me as his story unraveled. Yet, but the end of the book, I understood completely why I had the doubts about him that I did. Bruno is the kind of guy you hear about that swoops in as an angel of mercy during a freak car accident and disappears into the night without ever seeking credit for his actions. Sure, he has a gun and serious bad boy reputation, but with Callie, and subsequently, his family, he is a very different kind of man. Truth be told, I’d want a guy like him by my side during any battle.

To call Enshrine a different kind of Chelle Bliss story is like calling a downpour a drizzle. Bliss steps out of her comfort zone and delivers a heart-wrenching yet real novel. Her level of detail with Callie’s specific treatments and side effects really left me in awe. Unless you have experienced cancer or had someone close to you fight this nasty disease, it is hard to imagine a story with this level of detail. Enshrine may be completely fictional in nature, but it is a call to all of those struggling with their battle with cancer to not give up. It is a call to fight, and to let those special kind of people in that want to help you fight. As much as you think you can do this on your own, you can’t. To those men and women out there currently fighting, keep your head up and your hearts strong. Fight until your last breath just as I fight alongside you in a laboratory to find a cure. Together, we can do this!

Bruno is a man with secrets. Its no secret that he has secrets, he's quite open about the fact that he has secrets, but no one who's heard the stories and rumors that flow freely around him would be stupid enough to dare ask. After all, he guy is called 'Bruno the Butcher' for a reason, and it certainly doesn't have anything to do with working in a butcher shop.

Its also no secret that, for some time now, he's had his eye on Callie, and truth be told, Callie's been caught out returning a furtive glance or two, something her BFF Becca doesn't hesitate to tease her about. Knowing what they do about him though, neither of them are silly enough to seriously suggest she act of that latent attraction. The risks of getting involved with someone like that are just to great.

Then comes a phone call that sparks a monumental upheaval in Callie's life, and everything she's ever known gets turned on its ear. All the old rules she's lived by no longer seem to apply and finding a way forward seems an insurmountable task, which is of course the moment when Bruno chooses to force his way into her life whether she likes it much or not

There's an overworked and underpaid adage that goes "Don't judge a book by its cover". We've all heard it before, we all know it bears true time and time again whether applied directly to books or more metaphorically to people.

While striving not to give too much away, this is one of those books where that saying applies both to the book in general, and in a particular way to the character of Bruno.

I've heard of Author Chelle Bliss for some time now, but this is the first of her books I've read, and to be honest, I was expecting cheeky and irreverent, upbeat and funny, with no short supply of hot and sexy. What I found was ... not that. Certainly there are elements of all of those things scattered throughout the book, but they aren't the kinds of words I'd use to describe the book overall.

Instead I'd be using words like sweet and touching, raw and empowering, intense and ultimately, uplifting.

The romance in Enshrine is woven through and along side a deeply personal gut wrenching personal struggle for Callie that had me at times with tears running down my face, other times feeling almost sick to my stomach, and yet others with a fire burning in my chest and a smile busting out on my face.

Oh, and Bruno? When he says that those stories about him aren't true? That's true.

Being the kind of alpha male he is, Bruno gets the first and last say, but the main story itself is told first person from Callie's POV, and it certainly is a rollercoaster ride, but one well worth it.

Loved, loved, loved this book.

Bruno the butcher, the alpha male with the softest side ever, or maybe that was only for Callie. He finds her when she needed someone the most, when she needed someone to save her from herself. Callie is independent, and so strong willed, it takes Bruno what feels like forever to break her walls down. What an amazingly sad happy story this was. Loved it.

Chelle has done such an amazing job of telling a love story with the dreaded C.....! as the main topic. With sadness, hurt, love, fight & strength all rolled in to a very confronting storyline for those that may have had a family member go through it (as have I) but also a beautiful one with a HEA ❤️🥰

This book put me through the ringer. My heart was in my throat nearly the entire time I read. And sometimes I couldn't breathe properly. The intensity of what I was feeling consumed me. I'd be smiling one minute and crying the next. I went through every possible emotion. It made me feel everything.

Enshrine is the heartwarming and emotional story of Callie. It was just tragic to see such a wonderful person like her brought down so low. Her story was not a fairytale. Callie’s life changed in a blink of an eye and became gritty, real and cruel at times.

I loved everything about Bruno. Callie was clearly everything he wanted, and his adoration and devotion was amazing. I admired his honesty in expressing his feelings to her and his courageousness in offering her his help so many times. My heart overflowed with love for him.

Life deals people crappy hands all the time and it is how they deal that defines them. This book leaves you with the message to live in the moment. The present is perfect. Don't waste a single second because every moment is precious. And don't be afraid to love. Love is stronger than anything.

Yes the second we’re born, a clock starts ticking toward our death. Each moment left in our life, however long it may be, should be savored and never taken for granted. If there are any books that teach us a life lesson, this was definitely one of them.

The writing in this book amazing and I loved every single second of it. Even though I was completely consumed with Callie and Bruno, I also loved the other remarkable characters that played a vital role in their story and am hoping that their stories are told so that I can continue to read about this couple.

A beautiful story clearly written from the heart. Enshrine is every book lover's dream. From pain and sadness to finding love with an unbreakable bond, Callie and Bruno's story is breathtaking.

This was such a rewarding story. Despite covering a difficult theme, Chelle Bliss managed to draw me into a story of hope and determination and a desire to overcome everything that life throws at us.

Callie is a Molecular Biologist but her professional endeavours are put on hold when her future is turned upside down after one life-changing telephone call. Facing a battle like no other, Callie finds herself in a heartbreaking daily struggle to come to terms with the card that life has dealt her, that is until Bruno steps in to help and support her. With a secret identity and a darkness to his aura, Callie is surprised when this man who is practically a stranger to her suddenly becomes her rock. With an unexpected kindness and tenderness, Bruno saves her from herself and from an uncertain future. He gives her strength, fortitude and a determination to overcome her fears but can Callie trust this enigma of a man?

Bruno complimented Callie perfectly. He was her tower of strength and did everything in his power to help her face her battle head on. With only assumptions to go on as to who Bruno really is, Callie still falls in love with him and despite her best intentions does so in the knowledge that he could be a dangerous man.

I really loved the connection between Callie and Bruno and as the story plays out, we find there is more to their relationship than even Callie is aware of. Whilst reading the story I had all sorts of scenarios playing out in my mind as to who exactly Bruno was and what was revealed was completely unexpected.

This may come to be one of the most notable books in 2016, and I’m sure everyone who reads it will relate to it on some level. It is a poignantly penned story and one which will remain with me for a long time to come.

On thing though, yes this is a standalone story but with such delicious characters waiting in the wings, I can only hope that Bruno's siblings get their own story, possibly in a spin-off series!!!
