Every little girl dreams of a happy ending: a home, children, and a man who loves her enough to share his life and last name. When Billy's longtime boyfriend, Marcus, finally pops the question, it's one of the happiest moments of her life. To stand with her on her special day, Billy calls on her childhood friends, Reese and Yoshi. Several years have passed since they last came together. Loved this book. The follow up from the Hood Rat series. Wish Jah and Paul and also Rhonda stayed in the series longer. I love the watt Kwan writes it makes the characters so real its like you know them personally. Keep up the good work Kwan I haven't read a book I did t love from you yet. I recently finished reading No Shade by K'wan which is a part of the Hood Rat series. Let me just say, it connected perfectly with the previous stories. Oh was this book filled with so many valuable lessons! Like the trollop who was playing with the man's emotions over and over again, when he had given her his all until he has nothing left to give only to realize she had been playing him for a fool the entire time! When the realization sinks in that everyone knew the deal except him he crosses that thin line from sanity into insanity and does the unthinkable! Then you have Billie (one of my favorites) going through all kinds of doubt and turmoil as she gets ready to walk down the aisle with her beloved Marcus! Billie almost got a cursing out from me for allowing her friends to interfere in her relationship. You don't take relationship advice from people who are not in relationships, but they stayed loyal to end when it counted! Then there was Marcus who definitely surprised me with some of his actions as he was supposed to be the wavy business man! There is no such thing as a favor with some people. That one favor could mean a lifetime contract if not handled properly! In everything he went through, he still loved himself some Billie and that love took them to the next level! Then we have disgusting azz Don B! What can I say.... It was great to see someone come into the picture that Don B was intimidated by! Juicy! juicy! juicy! What's the saying, what goes around comes back around and it did! New characters and old characters all woven into a nicely told tale! I enjoyed this segment so much (5 star read) until I will continue to read this series as long as the author writes it. The realistic storylines make you look as some of the people you know and say "that's your azz he's writing about"! LOL. Seriously, K'wan's pen game is very impressive as it gets better and stronger with each novel! If you have not gotten to know this author through his books let me introduce you! His name is K'wan Foye and his books are available in all bookstores and on Amazon, so go ahead and introduce yourself while you one click!

Members of the original Hoodrat gang is back! Yoshi, Reese, Billy & the most loved to be hated Boots entertain us with tomfoolery at the highest level from the projects of Harlem NYC. It seems wedding bells are calling yet even with a joyous occasion what more can you expect the so called best friends reunion. Birthday bashes also turn up to bring back Don B. and his beloved Big Dawg Crew to the scene as well. Yes the gang is all here after almost five years of being gone.
Along with the old regime you also got new faces worthy of hood ratchetness to the highest level. A dangerous lad who is infamously known as the Turk. He carries around a meat cleaver to make examples of those who try to upset the crown of the King in Harlem, Shai Clark. You got a mystery man who goes by the name of G that is stirring up drama under the nose of the hood mafia uptown. A slick cat from Miami named Trap and his bodyguard sister Moochie who are a one two combo waiting to happen. Then there are the new elements to Big Dawg who go by Wise and Dolla always in the mix causing mischief like no others can do it better.
It seems Billy and Marcus are preparing to tie the knot but as we know if things can go wrong it will happen before it gets easier. Petty grudges, vanished ghosts reappear, more epic club fights and the new gang to watch out for is The Shower Cap Posse! As always K'wan delivers the comedy, the romance, drama like no other all while weaving separate issues of characters that seemingly have nothing to do with each other all into a melting pot of trouble waiting to boil over. I highly recommend this book and all other parts of the series. It's always a good time to read and enjoy some dysfunctional antics you know to only happen in the hood.

Has it been, like, 4-5 yrs since we've last followed the old /Hood Rat/ gang *Yoshibelle, Reese, Billy, and them*? I lost count, but It has been awhile, and I can say that NO SHADE was worth the wait. K'wan presented us with a dose of a little bit of everything, e.g. Crime, Romance, Thriller, Horror, and Suspense It's everything you expect from a K'wan novel, and MORE. There was an abundance of new characters he introduced us to with enough backstory to generate enough interest that'll make you wanting to know more about them. There were multiple story-lines going on at once, each individual character dealing with their respective problems, but K'wan carefully interwoven it to where it makes it one big circle and everybody is connected, one way or another. I couldn't ask for more from the big homie. I look forward to reading the next installment to the series. This story is 10/10 worthy and thensome! Congrats on your release day, AND your anniversary Mr. Foye.

This part of the hood rat series was the perfect mix of old characters with new characters. Yoshibelle has ALWAYS been my favorite from this series and it was good to have her back in the storyline.. the wedding just couldn't b perfect it wouldnt b right these 3 girls have had drama forever as it was suiting just the way it went down.. Billy always the good girl with the wrong people lol.. and the twist of all events when G's finally identified..WOW i wasnt expecting that..hmmm cant wait for this to unfold in only a way K'wan can do it this book is full of funny moments with good ole Ms.Pat to the drama that is the hoodrats..another 5 star read and yet another reason K'wan is and will ALWAYS be mu favorite author
