Forensic sculptor Eve Duncan risked it all to protect Cara Delaney from the enemies who want her dead. The journey has led them from California to a remote mountain in the Scottish highlands--and earned Eve the distinction of becoming their next target. When, despite all precautions, Cara is taken, Eve must hunt down the very people who want to kill her in order to save the young girl. 5 Stars for Iris Johansen’s newest Eve Duncan novel. First off I’d like to thank Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for allowing me to have the opportunity to read this book and give my honest review.
If you haven’t ever read an Eve Duncan book, I do so highly recommend you read one. Night and Day is the latest in the series. Like all the other books in the series, this is a fast pace, heart pounding, intriguing, entertaining, adventure, and danger. Johansen’s knows how to pull the reader into the story as if they are in the story and can vividly see what is going on and sometimes you feel like you’re actually there participating right beside Eve.
This book is a continuation from the previous two books Shadow Play and Hide Away. It’s a miniseries within a series. With this one being a wonderful conclusion to the miniseries, it did tie up this storyline nicely, HOWEVER, I will say that I don’t believe we will be saying goodbye to Eve; this was like a special event, in which I enjoyed reading.
I love the character of Eve, she has grown on me so much through the other books and I’m glad to say she hasn’t changed. She is one tough little character that I wouldn’t want to make her mad. I would love to hang out with her and her boyfriend Joe. The characters have always been well developed as well as the supporting character’s the crimes have always been intriguing, the story was well written, fast pace, page turning, and one book that you just can’t put down.
The story picks up from Hide Away, where Eve has taken Cara somewhere to hide her, but Joe finds out that someone is after them. Eve takes Cara out of the country to keep her safe from her enemies, but Eve becomes their next target. Cara’s mom, Natalie thinks that Eve has found a legendary treasure and wants to get her hands on it, she likes having power and being able to control everything. One thing I liked about Cara was not only was she stubborn to the core, but she was very mature for her age.
I highly recommend this book as well as the whole series to everyone who enjoys a crime, mystery book.

I've enjoyed reading this book and the previous two. They were a rollercoaster ride of thrills, suspense, paranormal actions, and treasure hunting!

Iris Johansson keeps your interest throughout each book until this story's end. But, there is more on the horizon!

It was a good read. I like her characters and the storyline. She needs to make Caleb more personable for Jane. Looking forward to where that story will go. Don't like the way things are going for Jock, really Cara? Don't make him wait for her to grow up. He'd be better with someone his own age.

OK I am ready for the next book in this series. There has to be a folow-up book. I could not stop reading. In fact I did nothing all day for 2 days just to get to the end. Suspense at its best. Great character development. And an ending that leaves you satisfied but wanting more, more, more. I want more about Seth, who has been an intriguing character every since you introduced him many books ago. Please Ms Johansen, I want to know more about what happens to Jock, Cara, Jane, Seth, even Kaskov, and especially about MICHAEL. And of course Joe and Eve who hold all of them together. Please tell me I don't have to wait for another year to find out what happens to all of them. I am thinking all kind of things about Michael. So as an author you did a fantastic job of keeping me curious and intrigued. Please never stop writing. I know writing is hard work and thinking up plots and twists isn't always easy, but could you just do nothing but write 24 hours a day for awhile. I will be on tenterhooks until the next book comes out and that is the best compliment I can give you.

Iris Johansen is one of the most awesome authors today. Her ability to write the way she does is one of a kind. There are many amazing authors out there but Iris is beyond outstanding. The Eve Duncan series is so incredible. I highly recommend anything Iris writes but the Eve Duncan series is my favorite. You will never regret one single book, she is that outstanding. Eve is a forensic sculptor. That in itself is unique and it caught my attention right away and I have been caught ever since. Eve's adventure's are awesome. Her characters are so well written. I have nothing bad to say about any of the series. They are all incredible. I highly recommend Iris.

As I said quite awhile ago, I absolutely love anything written about Eve Duncan. I have read all of the books written about her, and I commend Iris Johansen for her always having a continuity to her stories.

After finishing this book, I got the impression that Eve's stories had come to an end. Having Caleb and Jane finally coming together, and baby Michael being born gave me a feeling of closure to Eve's stories, and I was entirely satisfied with that feeling.

This book not only intrigued me, but excited me because of the mental battles between some of the characters. The story was extremely well written and I will never forget Eve Duncan and all her stories over the years.

Thank you Iris Johansen. You created a character that I will never forget, and all the good folks around her. I will miss all of them!

What a wonderful story about some of my favorite characters! Ms. Johansen again creates a world the reader can step into and immediately know all its workings. Her characters are so real It's as if they are part of the family. You tend to get caught up in what's happening. But then the story successfully ends. It's like watching a good tv show that ends with "to be continued". I hâte it when that happens. But, I always go back for more because everything seems so right and so real.

Awesome Novel, I haven't read a book in six months. I read the first bunch before this, and had to download this. I read these books over 1 1/2 weeks. They were just so riveting I could not stop reading. I can't wait until the next in the series is available, thank goodness for a super hubby that lets me read and do nothing else. All the characters are super and spell binding, the fact so much is in Scotland I really like being from Glasgow myself. Thank you Iris for your imagination. Aileen H.
