About the Author

LINDA FORD draws on her own experiences living in the Canadian prairie and Rockies to paint wonderful adventures in romance and faith. She lives in Alberta, Canada, with her family, and she writes as much as her full-time job of taking care of a parapelgic and four kids, who are still at home, will allow. Linda says, 'I thank God that He has given me a full, productive life and that I'm not bored. I thank Him for placing a little bit of the creative energy revealed in His creation into me, and I pray I might use my writing for His honor and glory.'

Linda Ford grew up devouring books and making up stories in her head, often late at night when she couldn't sleep. But she hadn't planned to write. Instead, she dreamed of running an orphanage. In a way, that dream came true. She married, had 4 homemade children, adopted 10 and lived her dream. She lives on a small ranch in western Alberta, where she can see the mountains every day. She and her husband continue to enjoy their children and grandchildren. Even after publishing over 100 books, Linda still finds a great deal of enjoyment and satisfaction in creating imaginary worlds and has no plans of slowing down in her passion of writing!

Loved this story about Crane and Maggie willing to marry him at the drop of a hat. As they travel West they rescue a young girl from a mean man. While still travelling West Maggies finds her little brother that their father sold to a mean farmer and so Crane bought him from the farmer and they took him with them. This is a great story of how these four people became a great family.

I so enjoyed reading this book!!!! It was such a easy read, with lots of laughter. Justs oes to how you don't have to be rich or poor to have a good hart. It also made me think that everything realy happens for a reason and that in life the wheel turns on it's own time. Shows you don't have to have a lot of explicit scens to write a really good book. Would love to read more from Linda Ford.

The story captured my attention right from the start when Crane realized he was missing only one more "thing" before heading west. From that point on, he and his acquired family faced one adventure after another. The love between Crane and Maggie develops over the course of their journey together. They each have hurts in the past to overcome in order to be able to love and trust each other, yet they both have hearts of compassion and treat each other with kindness and respect. Crane wants this marriage to be a business arrangement without romance after having been disillusioned by his parents who were a love match yet their family broke apart. Maggie and Crane both love the children and want to provide a happy home for them. The interaction with the children brings depth and humor to the story. Though I enjoyed the story, I gave it four stars because I felt the ending could have been longer, perhaps an epilogue, and I would have like to have seen them arrive at their destination. Nevertheless, I recommend reading this story by Linda Ford.

Truly enjoyed this easy going love story. Kept you loving the characters all the way to the end. Didn't feel the story went on unnecessarily. Maybe would have been nice to see where they settled. Will recommend to my sister.

This is a clean, Christian romance. It's been a long time since I've read a book this well edited. I wish the story telling was done to the same quality. It wasn't bad but neither was it exceptional. The characters never developed individual, knowable personalities. The biggest portion of the book was spent traveling but that whole scenario felt off. A pack horse that carried more than it should be able to, seeing the hint of something far off and finding trees and water just ten minutes later. Convenient shelter and water nearly every evening. If there was plenty of money for supplies why did they not purchase a wagon or train tickets instead of making the children ride horses? The severe response of the two traumatized children was believable however, the abrupt change in personality to well adjusted and happy kids within twenty four hours of being rescued was not realistic. Add to that disappearing wounds and this was not a book that I could get lost in. It felt too fake.

I really enjoyed this book! It kept my interest, didn't stall, I thought the characters were so sweet and while it touched on the nastier side of life it stayed light enough to make it a positive read. It'll be one I read again!
