About the author
Jess Michaels is a USA Today Bestselling Author who likes geeky stuff like Star Wars, playing video games, Bob’s Burgers and collecting POPs! She also drinks a LOT of Diet Coke. Probably an unhealthy amount, but it’s her only vice. She will eat (almost) anything coconut, truly anything cheesy and nothing spicy (yes, she is a walking stereotype when it comes to that). She likes cats, her dog Elton and people who care about the welfare of their fellow humans.
Although she started out traditionally published by Avon/HarperCollins, Pocket, Hachette and Samhain Publishing, in 2015 she went fully indie and has never looked back! She is lucky enough to be married to her favorite person in the world and live tucked between the ocean and the mountains in Oregon.
When she’s not watching Our Flag Means Death or trying out all the new flavors of Greek yogurt, she writes historical romances with amazing heroes and sassy heroines who do anything but wait to get what they want.

Hearing that Felicity is in danger, Asher hurries to the estate belonging to her brother. Old secrets come to light, promises and threats that drove them apart and set to right.
I thoroughly enjoyed this emotional and sexy romance. This quartet is worth the read!
The end of book 3 sets up the story of Felicity, Lady Barbridge, and her reunion with Asher Seyton. In book 4, Asher comes to the aid of the Danford family at the request of the Earl of Stenfax, specifically to help trace the money that is being exchanged for the coded secrets contained in the elusive book they seek.
But Asher's reunion with Felicity is bittersweet. Seeing him again is heartbreaking to Felicity since he walked away from her years ago. As the son of a servant, he had a duty but at the same time he was given leave to be a child and spend time with Lucien, Gray, Elise, and Felicity. Ultimately, he and Felicity had growing feelings for each other that became thwarted by their class differences. But fate has brought them back under the same roof, with Asher now a successful solicitor (and still serving the upper class), and Felicity is a wealthy widow and a viscountess to boot. Can Asher allow himself to be welcomed into the family that turned him out? Will Felicity allow her true feelings to lead her heart? Will Asher take the advice of John Dane, a man who knows better than anyone about deserving love and protecting it at all costs?
I really enjoyed this book but it was more because it wrapped up the series nicely and tied up all those loose ends, including the mystery of Rosalinde and Celia's father, and the discovery of the book of coded secrets that threatens Felicity and the Danford clan. We also learn why Asher was sent away after he and Felicity shared a kiss at her come-out ball. Asher's father and Felicity's mother also had roles in all of these secrets that finally come to light. My one issue with this series is that there is a general shortage of actual romance. Felicity is still in love with Asher, and Asher has never stopped loving Felicity, but their steamy moments together were for the wrong reasons, and Asher knew it. So does the reader, so for me, it kinda ruined what should have been beautiful, happy reunion moments. Instead, there was anger and resentment, and they spend so much time not telling each other how they really feel even though everyone else sees it.
The author weaves very good stories in this series and I do look forward to reading more by Jess Michaels. I give this book 4 stars. It would have been 3 for lack of real romance, but I loved how everything came together in the end, and everyone gets what they truly deserve, good and bad. Steam level is a 3.
Felicity believes Asher betrayed her love, his disappearance from her life a few years previously sending her straight into the clutches of a most violent man. A man whom Felicity eventually kills in self-defence and whose death was made to look like an accident. Herein lies the secret.
The wonderful thing about this book is that not only do we see how Felicity and Asher overcome their past and the obstacles of class and status that rear their ugly heads, to rekindle a love that was never doused, we also discover how all the other threads within this series tie off. The characters are beautifully crafted, their lives interweaving with each other and I feel that I know them intimately. The plot within the story is fast paced and riveting and without giving away any spoilers suffice it to say that karma usually gets her way!
This can be read as a stand alone story, but I would recommend you read the previous three anyway, simply because they are fantastic!
Adored in Autumn is the perfect conclusion to this series and while I'm sad that its come to an end, I know I'll be re-reading the whole set again and again!
Regardless, I enjoyed the characters, the extention of the family problems that first emerge in the series of 4 books and the conclusion. As usual, with Ms. Michaels stories, I hated to put the book down, usually falling asleep in bed with my Kindle. Not my most favorite story, but up there in the top 10!
