A native New Yorker, K.M. Jackson who also writes as Kwana Jackson spent her formative years on the ‘A’ train where she had two dreams: 1) to be a fashion designer and 2) to be a writer. After spending over ten years designing women’s sportswear for various fashion houses this self-proclaimed former fashionista, took the leap of faith and decided to pursue her other dream of being a writer.

This was a fun read that had me laughing out loud quite a few times. If you are a fan of Keanu Reeves, and honestly - who isn't, you'll get a kick out of this book. Talk about next level fan girl, seriously not only does Bethany "Lu" have throw pillows with his face on them but she is about to travel cross country to see him....oh and to stop his wedding. LOLThis was a light read which was just what I needed at the moment. I loved the relationship between all three friends, Lu, Tru, and Dawn, who have been friends since they met thirty years ago in high school. They are now in their 40s, and each successful in their chosen careers.The chemistry between Lu and Tru was great once they finally acted on it because you could feel it simmering there for a while. If you are looking for a story that has cosplay, and tons of different actors pop up throughout this is the read for you. Hello Chris Evans, Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet, just to name a few!I did receive an early paperback copy of this book from Forever imprint, Grand Central Publishing but didn't have a chance to read it before it's release so I decided to purchase the audiobook and glad I did because Tyla Collier did a fabulous job with bringing this story to life.I would recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a book with a Friends to Lovers or Road Trip Theme to it, or if you enjoy Contemporary Romance this would be for you too.Happy Reading!!!

I loved this cute, funny rom-com. Bethany is a 40 something artist with a business partnership proposal to consider. But then she sees a breaking news story that her longtime celebrity crush Keanu is getting married in 90 days. It can’t be! She’s devastated. She convinces the potential business partner to give her 90 days to decide. Meanwhile, she makes a 90 day plan to find Keanu, meet him, and convince him to call off the wedding, or marry her instead. Her longtime best male friend True (Truman) has some celebrity connections so they embark together on a road trip to find Keanu. Will she find Keanu and convince him to call off the wedding? Or will she discover true love has been by her side all along? Very enjoyable and cute story with other celebrity encounters along the way. Highly recommended.

Oh man, this is a review that I am not thrilled to write. I really, really, really wanted to love this book. The cover is so freaking cute, and the premise sounded so fun. But in the end I did enjoy this book, but not as much as I wanted to. I will say that this book is fun, there are lots of adventures between Lu and True. I loved the friendship between True and Dawn, there are lots of surprise celebrity encounters, and as an unmarried childless woman (whos not quite in her 40s yet), there were times that I could totally relate to Lu. But ultimately this book felt a little long to me, there were several side plots, and I felt like as someone who isn't a Keanu fan (I'm not not a fan) I felt lost with all of the references to him. Which totally isn't a bad thing, it is the premise of the book. and if I was a fan I'm sure I would adore it. Also I didn't love the way that Lu treated True. True was such book boyfriend material and this was one of those books were all I could think while reading it is that the heroine does not deserve the hero. I am happy that I read this book and there were parts I adored (friends to lovers, only one bed, forced proximity, road trip), but ultimately it wasn't all that I hoped it would be.

I had so much fun reading this (listening to this). This was a perfect book to pick up if you just want to tune out everything and smile for a little while. I'm not really a "Keanu girl" so if you're not, like me, you'll be happy to know this book isn't so much about Keanu, but more so about the idea of Keanu. It's about what him and his movies mean to Lu.

Lu and her best friend (who's obviously always been in love with her) True go on this quest to meet Keanu and they end up in the middle of so many crazy shenanigans. I absolutely adored it. And, I loved True, I was just in love with him!

This is a classic case of don’t judge a book by its cover. Which sadly, I did. Everything about this cover screamed that I would love it:

1. The cover art is super cute and fun.
2. It’s in relation to “Keanu Reeves” need I say more?
3. The protagonist is a black woman (yes!), but not just any black woman an artistic one.
4. She’s in her early forties.

I mean c’mon. It’s tailor made to be MY kind of book. But sadly, it was the opposite.
I dislike this book so much that it is taking me over 8 months to finish it. Why? Because after every 3 chapters (or less depending on my pain tolerance), I put it down and read a different book or two, to placate myself.

And let me be clear, it’s not the story. The premise is great, or at least no worse than any other story of this genre.. No, it is the writing that is terrible. This writers “voice” and the voices she’s given her characters are just bad.

There’s tons of over explanation in the dialogue, which had no flow, no finesse, no charm and felt forced. Boring and annoying archetypes, and I simply cannot believe in the main characters attraction. The protagonist’s self-centeredness is written so unlikeably (not sure that’s a word, but you get it), and with such idiocy, that I can’t see past it to even bother to root for her.

I should have loved this book. But it’s a total disappointment.

I think there is a specific audience for this book and it's type of humor, and references.
I don't know if I am that audience. It's not to say I disliked the book, because it was perfectly fine.

I just think this book would be best appreciated by someone in their early thirties, who doesn't have kids, likes movies/celebrities, and appreciates a main character who is independent.

Some of those things are me, some of them are not. I had a really hard time connecting with Lu. That being said I really liked True, so that saved it for me. I felt like Lu was unpredictable, some of her choices made no sense to me, and I didn't understand her hesitance. I also feel like the whole plot line with Daniel really wasn't wrapped up super succinctly. I thought the idea for a plot was really creative, and not something I have read before. The celebs that kept popping up kept it interesting.

I would rate it 2.5, but goodreads still hates us and doesn't allow half stars... so 3 it is!
