Charlene Morris is my absolute favorite book character. This book series keeps getting better and better. Traci Hall and Patrice Wilton have made this series and it's characters so addicting. Charlene's character is always finding a mystery to solve, and this time she has to solve the murder of a so called real vampire. With so many lovable characters, Charlene has her pick of supporting friends. Not to mention she still has her live in ghost, Jack. I can't wait to see Traci and Patrice have in store for Charlene next. I do know that with these two authors we can expect more great mysteries for Charlene to solve!

This fifth book in the Mrs. Morris series begins at the annual Witches Ball where Charlene is one of three of the costume judges. Her friend Brandy is upset because her daughter is dating a man, Alaric, who she believes is bad for her daughter, Serenity . Alaric claims to be a vampire. At midnight he disappears and the next morning he’s found dead.

Charlene, always against the wishes of Sam, begins investigating the murder as a favor to Brandy. They meet Alaric’s friends Asher, Elizabeta and Orpheus who are also part of the vampire culture. She also meets a writer who penned a book about the tunnels under Salem, Patric Steel. And of course, Dr. Jack Strathmore, Charlene’s resident B&B ghost helps her research and put the clues together.

This is one of my top 3 cozy series. The story that these two wonderful authors, Traci Hall and Patrice Wilton, write are such a joy to read. The characters are likable, the story is fun to read and the bad guy is not always easy to figure out. Can’t wait for the next book.

Enjoyed this addition to the series very much. I enjoy the paranormal aspects of the story. I do get a bit aggravated with Jack for making her feel she can't have a relationship with Sam. Any really caring friend would want her to have a real physical relationship with someone she can actually touch.

This is the fifth Book in the Salem B&B Mystery series by Traci Wilton and it's by far my favorite.

It's the second Halloween for Charlene at her B&B in Salem, Massachusetts that she shares with the resident ghost, Jack Strathmore. And what an exciting Halloween it is! Charlene is attending the Witch Ball with friends and guests of her B&B where she is also a judge for best costume. Before the winners are announced at midnight, a self-proclaimed vampire disappears, leaving behind a cloak and bloody stake. His body is found the next day washed up on shore and when a second murder occurs, Charlene finds herself in the middle of the handsome Detective Sam Holder's investigation.

I love this setting and characters in this series. It's like visiting old friends and making new ones in each book. All the twists and turns will keep you guessing until the end in this well written paranormal cozy.

I don’t know, I guess I’m finding the main character to be a huge PIA, she never ever does what she says, she makes stupid, impulsive moves, nearly dies, and each book she then has to be saved by Sam every time. She doesn’t respect his authority, leads him on, and then shuts him down bc she can’t have a relationship with another man while her ghost is with her….who she has feelings for, did I say he’s a ghost? It’s just the same same same every time. I’m not sure I will continue to read this series.
