Have your cake—and true love too...

Nightmare bridesmaids’ dresses, tasteless fondant icing, budget-busting wedding expenses—some women just aren't about it. They’ll laugh off tradition, make their own rules—and find the most outrageous ways possible to flip wedding day lockstep into true love.

She's done, finished, had it. Between her family’s expectations and being always-a-bridesmaid, Lily Perry is fed up with being nagged to find a husband. She's happy with her life—and tired of being burned by “nice guys” who demand she fit their dreams. So she’s going to settle the issue once and for all: by marrying herself. And celebrated chef Vincent Caro's fabulous restaurant is the perfect place for a big-time, blow-out,
not-hearing-it-any-more wedding. Lily doesn't care if everyone—including Vincent—thinks she's crazy. Especially when his mouth-watering talent and no-commitments style ignites one sizzling, no-strings fling, or two…or more.

But no matter how hard they try to keep things light, their relationship keeps getting hotter. The more Vincent helps Lily tackle unexpected trouble, the more he finds she might be everything he’s ever wanted. Can she afford to forget caution and finally let go? And can they both take a risk to discover if what they have is meant to last long after the dessert course?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The hero was super sexy. I wish I knew where to find men like him in real life. The heroine was strong and independent and Mama Dee was a total crack up. I would definitely recommend this book.

This book was interesting and the characters continued to surprise me throughout the story. I was a little frustrated with Lily and how much she expected from Vin, and I never really understood her, but I still enjoyed it!

I liked this story, it was cute. That being said, it could do with some serious editing. There is pretty serious repetition around Thomas early on that gets wearing. Spelling errors and misuse of words in a few places, as well as least one whole sentence that is nonsensical detract from what is enjoyable writing.

I had a hard time with Vin. Both he and some of the storyline, feel outdated. I remember the woman who married herself and that wasn't recent. In spite of my critiques, it's a quick read and Lily & her family are fun, and realistic to boot.

when I read this story I kept asking myself one question. Why write this story the way it was written. While i love the hero ( Vincent Caro ) of the story I couldn't help the more I kept reading the story hating the heroine ( Lily Perry ). She was extremely confused and lost to me and it seems that everyone around her her love interest and family members were more of a sound mind than Lily herself. Lily wants to marry herself to prove that she doesn't need to depend on a man for her happiness nor does she need a man for validation. While I personally like the concept and where this story could have gone there is one simple fact the story didn't take it where it could have and should have gone. It takes you in a complete opposite direction. In essence Lily in my opinion was lying to herself which is the worst form of abuse when you say to others that you love yourself enough to not need or depend on a man. To me she wanted to marry herself because she had issues with men more so because she loved herself. Then she doesn't only meet a good man she meets the right man for her. What I hated the most was how she treated him no matter how much he forgave her and stuck by her. She did not trust herself enough to let go and to allow herself happiness with him. Then the worst part of all was when she realize that Vincent was indeed the man for her? What did she do? Well you will find out and when you do you will wonder what the world. Which let me wondering what was the point of the story again? Exactly I cant't think what the point was either. I would have rather this story focus on why she really needed to marry herself rather than escaping from her issues with men.

I have read K.M. Jackson's work before. I found TO ME I WED at a local bookstore. The story is about a single woman, tired of family and friends asking when she's going to make her way down the aisle, deciding to take a page from a story she read online about a woman holding a wedding to "marry" herself. Lily believes the ceremony will get her family off her back. Vin, the hero, had a couple of dates with Lily in the past, but neglected to call her after a date and lost touch with her until he sees her at a recent wedding. He would like to rekindle what they started, but her goal to marry herself has become a barrier in them getting together.

K.M. Jackson is a good writer. The chemistry between Lily and Vin leaps off the page. Lily is an event planner, but she holds onto things of the past, like the old, beater car her father gave her. Vin is a chef at his own restaurant and is trying to get over the loss of his mother. I love his passion for food (and feeding people), his love of surfing (who knew surfing was that big in Long Island, New York?), and particularly his dog.

Lily's grandmother, Mama Dee, is a hoot. I enjoyed reading the interactions between Lily and Mama Dee.

TO ME I WED is book 2 in the Unconventional Brides series. Even though I didn't read the first book in the series, this book can be read as a standalone title.

Normally, I appreciate a traditional romance where the hero and heroine have a conflict that keeps them apart for the majority of the book before they finally get together. Lily and Vin butted heads almost to the very end of the book. Their arguments, though, seemed blown out of proportion, a simple misunderstanding that an honest conversation would have fixed. Lily walked on eggshells around Vin regarding certain topics. And Vin didn't really open himself up on important aspects of his life, like the death of his mother. Because of that, their relationship, if you can call it that, came off as superficial. Part of the problem is that there was no real external conflict that kept them apart. Vin didn't understand the reason for the single-lady wedding, but after a couple of negative comments from Vin, the two of them didn't really deal with the wedding until the very end.

I applaud Jackson for taking a real-life story from the media and creating a story around it.

Fed up with the expectations and disappointments of love, Lily decides to step off the escalator and take control of her life. Sounds sane, right? The way she goes about accomplishing this task, is anything but. To Me I Wed has to be the most over the top love story that I have had the pleasure of reading, yet that is what I found so adorably intoxicating about it. When it comes to love, everyone is clueless. Love is the most frustrating, heartbreaking, irresistibly alluring emotional out there. No one understands how it works, but we all know when it feels right. K.M. Jackson scores points for originality. She created a story that is identifiable, at times certifiable, but in the end proves to an edible addiction of sweet and tempting charm.
