Editorial Reviews

Review

Praise for The Nathan McBride Series:

“Andrew Peterson has created the most brutally effective thriller hero to appear in years. He handles a plot line like his hero might a well-oiled sniper rifle.”
― Ridley Pearson, author of Killer Weekend

“Part Jack Reacher, part Jason Bourne, Nathan McBride is a compelling, conflicted hero.”
― Steve Berry, author of The Columbus Affair

“McBride is an extremely promising hero… competent, intelligent, cool-under-pressure hero…his adventures will be a big hit with thriller fans.”
Publishers Weekly

“…Thriller readers will enjoy this fast-paced tale starring a wonderful hero whose escapades never seen to end.”
The Mystery Gazette

“Nathan McBride is a larger-than-life Rambo-type character, but he’s no less believable than Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.”
The San Luis Tribune

“Nathan McBride is a truly memorable protagonist whose sense of honor and loyalty take him down dark paths. The breakneck pace and pulse-pounding action herald the arrival of a major new find.”

About the Author

A native of San Diego, Andrew Peterson won his first pellet-gun shooting competition at a young age, launching an award-winning career in marksmanship where he earned the title of Master in the NRA's high-power rifle competition program. With an architectural degree from the University of Oklahoma, he began writing fiction as a hobby in 1990 and sold his first short story, “Mr. Haggarty’s Stop,” to San Diego Writers Monthly two years later. In 2008, the launch of his debut novel, First to Kill, allowed him the opportunity to visit VA hospitals around the country, and he's donated more than three thousand copies to wounded warriors and troops serving overseas. He and his wife, Carla, live in Monterey County, California.

Andrew Peterson was born and raised in San Diego, California, he attended La Jolla High School before enrolling at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture.

An excellent marksman, he holds the classification of Master in the NRA's High Power Rifle ranking system. His familiarity with weapons and dedication to research has resulted in many speaking engagements ranging from craft workshops to ATF canine demonstrations.

Andrew began writing fiction in 1990 and sold a short story, Mr. Haggarty's Stop, to San Diego Writers Monthly in October, 1992. After attending his first writer's conference in 2005, where he met Ridley Pearson, he became serious about writing the Nathan McBride stories.

Andrew is the #1 international bestselling author of FIRST TO KILL (FTK) which features Nathan McBride, the brutally effective, trained Marine scout sniper and former CIA operations officer. Early in January 2011, Andrew signed with Thomas and Mercer. FTK was released in trade paperback, eBook, and audiobook editions in 2012. FTK has been translated into seven languages.

Andrew had the privilege of attending Operation Thriller II, a 2011 USO tour to Afghanistan where he personally thanked our troops for their service. He traveled with fellow authors Sandra Brown, Kathy Reichs, Clive Cussler and Mark Bowden. He considers the USO tour one of the highlights of his life. To date, Andrew has donated over 3,000 books to our troops serving overseas and to our wounded warriors recovering in Naval and Army hospitals worldwide.

Currently, there are six Nathan McBride novels available from Thomas & Mercer:

FIRST TO KILL (Nathan McBride #1) Kindle, audio, and print

FORCED TO KILL (Nathan McBride #2) Kindle, audio, and print

OPTION TO KILL (Nathan McBride #3) Kindle, audio, and print

READY TO KILL (Nathan McBride #4) Kindle, audio, and print

CONTRACT TO KILL (Nathan McBride #5) Kindle, audio, and print

RIGHT TO KILL (Nathan McBride #6) Kindle, audio, and print

Book seven will be launching July 3rd.

When he's not writing the popular Nathan McBride series, Andrew enjoys scuba diving, target shooting, flying helicopters, hiking and camping, and an occasional (and questionable) round of golf. Andrew and his wife, Carla, live in Monterey County, California with their three dogs.
