Eliza Knight is an award winning, USA Today and international bestselling author. Her love of history began as a young girl when she traipsed the halls of Versailles and ran through the fields in Southern France. She can still remember standing before the great golden palace, and imagining what life must have been like. Growing up in the Washington, D.C. area, her weekends were filled with visits to museums, and historical reenactments. Escape into history for courageous heroines, irresistible heroes and daring escapades. Join Eliza (sometimes as E.) on riveting historical journeys that cross landscapes around the world. She is a member of the Historical Novel Society and Novelists, Inc., the creator of the popular historical blog, History Undressed, a co-host on the History, Books and Wine podcast and a co-host for the true crime podcast, Crime Feast.

While not reading, writing or researching for her latest book, she tries to keep up with her three not-so-little children. In her spare time (if there is such a thing…) she likes daydreaming, wine-tasting, traveling, hiking, staring at the stars, watching movies, shopping and visiting with family and friends. She lives atop a small mountain with her own knight in shining armor, three princesses, two very naughty Newfies, and a turtle named Fish.

Look for STARRING ADELE ASTAIRE a story full of glitz and glam, delving into the life of Adele Astaire, a spirited and talented woman who served up smiles and love both on and off the stage—with and without her also famous brother Fred Astaire— along with a determined young dancer with rags-to-riches dreams. Coming in June 2024, THE QUEEN'S FAITHFUL COMPANION.

I've been writing and published for the last 13 years and while I haven't finished the book yet, it was an instant help for those numerous reminders and little things that can make or break a manuscript. The book has a fast format with examples not just from Ms. Knight's own work but other authors as well. The book has a short list of resources at the back for writers, such as basic writer organizations, sites the writers should visit and a discussion of plot structure geared mostly towards romance novels. For the price, I'd go with this book.

I bought "Edit your book in a month" because it came recommended; I wish I could remember from whom, because I would have had to go back and ask that person why. When I pick up a book about editing, I put a lot of stock in whether the author exhibits good writing and grammar. This one does not. This book is littered with spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes (subject-pronoun agreement, comma splices, awkward phrasing and strange shifts from first to second person, also a TON of fragments that do not, in any way, pack a punch), and the author violates her own rules. Ex: She tells writers to avoid "it," then goes on to use "it" frequently and in some cases does not even clarify what she is referring to when saying "it." Much better to stick with the classics or purchase a different book that goes more in depth into the topics in which you may be interested.

Eliza Knight's book is clear and doable. She makes the editing process understandable. After a first draft you can feel overwhelmed, but after going through 'Edit Your Book in a Month', I am able to tackle it with out the trap of endless edits and gt the book done.
This is a must have for anyone who writes novels.

Wow. Someone didn't take her own advice! I don't believe that anyone edited this book. I have never seen so many grammatical and punctuation errors (not to mention amateurish writing) in an Amazon Search Inside this Book before. And a first: Sentences interrupted by chunks of white space (they do continue on another line, so I suppose it could be worse).

From the opening pages:
For every one-hundred manuscripts they receive only two or maybe four on a good day, will be offered a contract.
or
Many writers fall under the adage: "That's what an editor's job is."

You know how sometimes you come across a webpage that was clearly written in another language and then passed through a computer translator? Imagine a book of that. I suspect the writer threw this together in 2 weeks to foist on the Kindle crowd, then decided to offer Publish on Demand in printed version.

As far as content... The book seems to cover the basics. Nothing wrong with that. There might be some gems in here for advanced writers, but I won't be buying it to find out.

If the author reads this, I strongly suggest pulling the book, editing it, updating the Search Inside this Book and then trying again. You are ruining your reputation and it's not a question of taste...it's a matter of sloppy, sloppy work.

I found the title a little far fetched, although I did buy it to see if it was possible. Yes it is if you work night and day!!. Some good information scattered around among the book though.
