From the manufacturer
The first side pocket has a bright green lining and an opening the run a cable through even when the pocket is zipped up. This is ideal for stowing a small battery pack and running a USB cable through for charging your iPhone in your hand or pocket.
The other side pocket is similarly sized and also zips closed but lacks the cable slot.
Incase Icon Pack
Icon and Icon Lite have similar designs as part of the same collection. Icon Lite is half the price and about half as deep. Icon Lite is ideal if you want a well designed backpack to carry around a MacBook, a handful of accessories, and maybe an iPad or book or two without spending too much. Personally, I tend to pack way more than I typically need so Icon is better suited for my needs (and my new go-to bag).
Icon, the larger of the two bags, includes the most storage compartments starting with a small zip-up pocket on top. It’s lined with soft material so you can drop your iPhone in (or AirPods and Apple Watch as pictured) safely.
Icon’s middle section is the largest and includes plenty of pockets, slots, and pouches. One slot runs from the top of the interior to the bottom is zips shut. Another padded section is large enough to hold a 15-inch MacBook Pro as pictured. A pocket in front of that offers an additional space for a tablet or papers, and the depth here accommodates dropping in bigger items.
Icon has a medium-sized side pocket fit for tablets too. The larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro may be too tall for this pocket and be positioned inside the main compartment, but it’s perfectly sized for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro
While the tablet pocket runs along a third of the backpack, a notebook pocket lined with soft material unzips along the remaining two-thirds of the back. This slot is plenty big enough to carry a 15-inch MacBook Pro and any sized iPad with quick access when needed.

There are all sorts of things to like about this bag:
1. It stands up on its own. Unless you somehow get it overloaded and top heavy, it will stand up, making access very easy.
2. The laptop space is well padded with a plush lining, and putting in the laptop doesn't take space away from the rest of the bag. With my old bag, I had to wrestle the laptop in and out because it competed for space.
3. There's also a separate Kindle/iPad slot that zips closed. It also doesn't compete for space with the main compartment, so it's very convenient.
4. The top pouch for glasses and cell phones is plush lined.
5. The tall pouch in the front is extremely convenient for tickets and other flat papers, and the zipper is discrete.
6. The bottom is padded, so when you set it down, things inside are protected.
7, The bottom storage area in the main compartment is deceptively large: I can get a digital SLR (Nikon D810) and a medium sized lens in there with no trouble. Although it's not designed as a camera bag, I can see easily putting a camera + extra lens in there without a problem.
8. The bag holds its shape well. This makes a huge difference compared to floppy backpacks. However, this backpack is still maleable--it's not like a big hiking pack with a stiff frame in the back.
9. The two storage compartments on the sides at the bottom are very convenient. They add a lot of versatility.
You'll need to put your water bottle inside the bag vs. in an outside holder, but the inside is deceptively roomy. If you really want a bottle at hand on the outside, however, the bag is not suited for that.
i often have a hard time pulling headsets out of it because of the tight fit.
this however is a small trade off as the bag is comfortable and the storage keeps things from flying all over the bag and making a mess of things.
the small inserts inside the bag however could be a bit deeper as the items you place in them are only about halfway in and could make you feel like they will fall out of the pockets.
great materials and comfortable to carry.
zippers may need some wear before they stop snagging a bit when opening/closing but it is nothing that can cause frustrations.
side pockets are kind of useful if you have a power bank. the other one can store something like a wallet but me personally i don't trust it enough to do that, but keep in mind, that these are a tight fight and anything thicker than a wallet may not fit properly.
When I first opened the box I immediately thought this bag was going to be too small. Its tall, and wide enough, but its depth (from your back out that is) is not very deep. However, after using it for several weeks now I can say there is plenty of space for my needs. I use it primarily for carrying my 15" MBP, its charger. The best thing about it though is how light it is. The bag itself is much lighter than my old backpack!! I guess I never realized how much weight the old backpack itself was. Also, the straps are super comfortable.
I usually pack it with my computer, its charger, a big notpad, my glasses, earbuds, several charging cables for my phone and other doodads, a few dongles (ugh dongle-life), and lots of pens and markers. There is still plenty of room for a few large items. I'd say I could still fit a large textbook or a few small ones. I might even squeeze in a hoodie (but that would really fill it up).
This is a great bag for daily work carry and I think you'll love it if you don't need to carry a ton of stuff.
The Icon Pack has more compartments and more storage space than my original pack without feeling bulky or unruly. And, I'm not sure this isn't my imagination, but I swear it's substantially lighter than my previous case.
The designers at Incase have managed to improve upon their original design with great touches like faux-fur-lined pockets (laptop and phone) and better thought-out internal storage, while keeping everything else that worked well.
Pros:
* Very well designed inside and out.
* Lots of useful pockets and compartments.
* Some compartments faux-fur-lined to keep equipment safe.
* Roomy without feeling bulky.
* Lightweight.
* Wide, comfortable straps.
* Lots of adjustment points.
Cons:
* I would have liked to have a small, internal zippered pouch close to the top opening of one of the center compartments.
* Only comes in three colors.
