Ivy Morgan is getting married, which means she needs a dress. Now that she’s finally embraced the idea of planning for the wedding (rather than just enjoying the marriage and honeymoon) she’s gung-ho to check things off her list. The local dressmaker Zelda Morris has just the thing for Ivy. Before she can show it to her, though, she’s murdered in the back of her own store … while Ivy waits for her to return to the storefront. Unfortunately for Ivy, because she didn’t hear a thing, that makes her a suspect.Jack Harker isn’t happy with the turn of events. He knows Ivy is innocent but he’s in a precarious position. If word gets out that he’s protecting his fiancée, then the Michigan State Police could take over the investigation, and he’s worried they might fixate on Ivy. That means he has to dig deep for answers … and what he finds is troubling. It seems Zelda was only one of a multitude of women dating local lothario Henry Spencer, a man who has more girlfriends than brains. One of those girlfriends happens to be Ivy’s aunt, Felicity Goodings, which means the long eye of the law falls directly on both of them. It’s up to Jack and Ivy to untangle a mess of motives and suspects, which include her beloved aunt. That causes issues with Ivy’s mother, who is loyal to her sister to a fault. It’s a tense time, and it only gets worse when Ivy decides to embrace her magic and use it to solve the case. There’s a killer on the loose and Ivy might be a target because she can’t keep her nose out of trouble. She needs to discover a killer, avoid this individual’s wrath, and continue planning her wedding if she wants a happily ever after. It’s going to be a tall task.

I’m a romantic at heart. A true romantic. I love the idea of a happy ending, so much so I have trouble writing a sad one. The world is sad enough. I like escaping in fiction. That’s just me. I like sarcasm and snark – but I’m not sure a sad ending is in me. If you’re looking for an edge like that, you’re probably looking in the wrong place. Just FYI.

I am the author of the Hardy Brothers Security romantic suspense series, A Maddie Graves Mystery series, An Ivy Morgan Mystery series and the upcoming A Harper Harlow Mystery series.

I love magic and love. I hope you do, too.

Thank you so much for reading!

Ivy and Amy, Max’s girlfriend, have gone to the wedding shop so Ivy can try on the bride dresses samples she had the shop owner order. The owner went to the back to get the dresses but took a long time so Ivy went to the back to check on her. She finds lots of blood and the shop owner dead. Murder and mayhem find Ivy frequently! With the investigation. Jack and Brian find Aunt Felicity may be a suspect just like Ivy. What a tangled mess they have but Ivy’s magic comes into play. A good story!

This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. Great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Ivy Morgan is a witch in a small town in northern Michigan. She runs her own nursery and owns the small cottage nearby where she lives with her fiancé Jack and local police detective. Ivy has always been a little bit odd growing up and weird things have happened around her. Since meeting her fiancé and becoming connected in many ways her magic abilities have grown exponentially. She is learning new skills every day even though it upsets her at times. Read on and see what adventure ivy Jack and the rest of the people in their small town get into. Always a fun mystery with plenty of twist interns and snarky comments. Check it out

When Zelda the dressmaker is murdered in the back of her own dress shop, with Ivy and Amy in the front, Zelda's daughter Patsy at first blames Ivy. She later relents.

Ivy's aunt Felicity is a suspect, as well as Lucy and Fanny, as they and Zelda were all in a relationship with a disgusting womanizer named Henry.

We discover that Felicity had a great love when Ivy and Max were little, but he moved away.

Ivy consults with ghostly Susan Bishop to improve her magic.

And determines to use it to find the killer.

And it's so sweet to see Max settling down with Amy, and being a father figure to JJ.

Wonderful story, wonderful series.

Book 15 has an aging lothario, a murder, a kidnapping, mystery, mahem, and magic. Ivy's magic is getting more powerful by the day and she is finally embracing it as her and Jack's wedding day gets closer. Highly entertaining.

Each book gets better in this series gets better. I really like the relationship progress of Ivy and Jack. The mystery storyline was not predictable and I like the play of emotions of everyone involved. I can't wait for the next book.

Ivy is embracing some of her powers. Love that Max looks serious in a relationship. Interesting mystery. I definitely recommend this book and series.

I will say I never understand how the law enforcement girlfriends think it's normal or acceptable to be involved in the investigation like a detective or officer. Help, be sneaky about helping, it's needed for these stories but you are not allowed to be angry if you're told you shouldn't. Usually it doesn't seem as prominent as it was in this book and yes her Aunt is involved so I may be being harsh.

That said I still loved the book. I will re read it.

I love Ivy Morgan books! This one is no exception. The author did a great job with having the main character grow over the series of books which I love about her. The fact that this can be read as a single book is great but also that if you have read the series from the Begining you get to be a
Part of seeing the growth of the Characters it's like your Part of their family. If an author can make you feel that way then it's a great series.

Ivy and Amy visit Zelda's wedding shop to look at the dress samples she's ordered in especially for her. Zelda greets them and disappears into her stock room while the girls chat about Jack's new plan for them to each write their own vows.. 10 minutes later and Zelda hasn't returned so ivy and Amy follow her into the stock room to make sure she's ok.

Zelda's as far from ok as can be, lying dead in a pool of blood having been stabbed in a frenzied attack. Calling in Brian and Jack doesn't make Ivy's overwhelming guilt at not realising what was going on in the room lessen. They have to include both girls as suspects and when they call Patsy, Zelda's daughter, to the store so they can inform her of her mother's passing things get worse.

Patsy's hurting, she's angry, she's devastated and she instantly and volubly declares that Ivy is the killer and demands her immediate arrest.

Neither detective seriously considers Ivy a suspect but protocols have to be followed and Jack is in an uncomfortable position that's about to become a whole lot worse.

Zelda was dating Henry.. so, it turns out, were Fanny, Lucy and Felicity.. as Jack now has to interview his wife-to-be's Aunt as a potential murderer Ivy's mother is furious.. how dare he? Her daughter? Her sister? Ivy's upset and despite having rowed about it she understands that Jack has a job.. Luna however is now questioning her daughter's family loyalty.. Ava's fuelling the rumours that Ivy's guilty and that Jack's looking for a way to avoid the wedding..

What should be a happy time is becoming increasingly difficult and unhappy for all. Ivy needs to master her powers to find not just the missing link but a missing person too.. even though it's someone she loathes she's going to do her best although it's going to get her into serious trouble in the end.

This should have been a novella. It was chock full of a tedious amount of repetition all the way through. It became annoying. Yes the storyline was good, but the character development evident in the previous book just wasn’t there. Frankly you could skip this & miss nothing of any significance. I expect much more from this author. It feels like she had a free weekend & decided to make some easy money.
