Trixsters Anonymous

Rate this book
Sassy, dramatic, hot-headed are just some of the words used to describe me since the time I was born. A few little mishaps growing up and my mom has a running ‘Emerson Baker’ prayer circle, and I have the reputation of a spit-fire that won’t go away.

I prefer the terms loyal, passionate, fiery, and possibly a bit impulsive.
So when my best friend proposes the concept of starting our own business, I jump on the idea.

CHEATERS BEWARE!
That should be our motto… because your secrets can’t stay hidden for long with Trixsters Anonymous on the case.

We are the moonlighting duo hell-bent on helping those who suspect their lovers are cheating. We’re professional, careful, and completely anonymous…What could possibly go wrong?

Walker Scott… that’s what goes wrong.
I never stood a chance against the gorgeous, hazel-eyed, fiercely determined man who storms into my life and completely blindsides me.
He’s the proof that opposites attract—and when they do, the chemistry is explosive.
Did I mention he’s also a detective? A very, very, talented detective?

Pretty soon being a Trixster is a lot more complicated.

3.5 - 3.75 stars

Light funny read.
I like it funny and not tstl and this book delivered it hilarious.

What I liked the most - there were many lines, chapters telling me how the hero was obsessed with the heroine, how he liked and loved her, how he was jealous. The author praised the heroine more than the hero - and I loved it.

The most books tell me about her drooling over him, about his beauty, his c*ck and so on. I like when a man pursues a woman and not when she's secretly in lust with him and chases him.

This heroine wasn't unaffected, she lusted for him, but it was counterbalanced thanks to his immediate attraction toward her.

Loved the storyline about the heroine and her BFF being PIs and helping women and men to catch their cheating partners.
But!!! I wouldn't have missed sex-scenes with OP, especially the foursome. TMI for my liking. No one of the main and side characters was involved, only the cheaters.

Zero OW or OM drama. Safe!!!

1 more complain and the reason why not 4.5 or 4 stars - once she caught the fiancé of one of her clients in bdsm club making D/s scene, the hero mentioned it wasn't technically cheating. Are you kidding me? If my fiance was caught fingering OW - and I don't care for the reasons (if he didn't tell me about his preferences and searched for release on the side) it would be 100% cheating for me. And the BS hero told about giving this man a chance & blah blah blah, was just OTT BS (Bullsh*t extraordinary)!!!
Without this part I would have clicked 5 for 4.5 stars.

Thanks God neither hero nor heroine were kinky.
Yes to old-fashing f*cking love making!!! Sex scenes were hot.

Overall: hilarious story with very likable characters. I will check future books by this author.

Spending time with these characters was a bucket load of fun. Emerson and Walter our main characters as well as their BFFs, Marcus and Maren, were funny, real, quirky, and people I would gladly hang out with.

It's refreshing to read a book devoid of unnecessary drama or silly misunderstandings, this is not a YA book that's for sure, and for which I declare myself an Ahren Sanders fan-for-life

4.5 stars!! I loved this one. Funny moments, swoony moments and action. The h was sassy in a funny way, not in a bitchy way. She was also sweet and loyal to her core. Her bff was the same. I really hope this author decides to give us her and Marcus's story.

I loved this more than I thought I would! This was a well written and enjoyable read. Walker and Emerson were both strong, smart, capable characters! I really liked that Walker seemed almost more smitten with Emerson- you could tell that he was really taken with her and thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. I appreciated that because in most books it seems a little uneven to me with the heroine being so impressed with the hero. And in most other books it might be mentioned that the h is the most beautiful to the hero, but I don't always buy it because we keep being told how gorgeous his previous women were 😡 Luckily that doesn't happen here! Both of them were experienced, but we get no details! This is a sweet, fun story and I was sad when it ended!

Overall enjoyment of Performance: 5 Stars. I absolutely love both narrators. I think they enhanced the story with not only their beautiful voices but the way they became the characters.
Recommend audible version: Yes, Highly recommend!

This was a super cute book. It was funny with some silly scenarios that were very entertaining and had me laughing out loud. The best part was the relationship between the MC's. There was no major drama between the two and Walker always made sure they were on the same page. So refreshing.

Emereson and her best friend Maren set out to catch Maren's fiancee cheating after she found STD medicine in his car. When they realized how easy it was to catch him in the act, Maren encourages Emi to start a business with her called Trixsters Anonymous. They are determined to help other others get proof of cheating spouses.

Emi is a fraud specialist and Maren is a computer techie. They've set up their business to be completely anonymous with their clients using communication through a secure internet site. What could go wrong by combining their skills and going undercover?

As you can imagine, these two women trying to do undercover work and finding themselves in the middle of police investigations was pretty entertaining. Especially since Emi just started dating Walker who happens to be a detective on the police force.

I absolutely loved Walker. Being a detective, you can imagine how protective he was with Emerson. He's also pretty possessive which was just plain hot! Walker was so into Emi....being a manly man and the way he treated her was swoon worthy.

I'm pretty sure the author was reading my mind on what I want to see in my main characters. This is proof that a book can cut out all that unnecessary relationship drama and still be a super fun book. I want more books like this please!

I borrowed this on Prime Lending but loved it so much I bought the kindle book and the audio companion.

This was a lot of fun. I am huge fan of Ahren Sander's books. Trixsters Anonymous was different from her other books as it is a light-hearted read with no OW/OM drama. Normally her books have a lot of OW/OM drama but this one had none which I loved. Emi is a sassy, sweet and fun heroine. Walker is a bossy possessive alpha who knows what he wants. Highly recommend this if you are looking for an entertaining read and love a good instant love romance.

Super fun and sweet. Hero was awesome. Zero OM/OW drama. Heroine was funny, a bit crazy, occasionally annoying with her antics but not too bad.

It slowed a bit in the middle.

At first I thought this book was going to be fade to black with more slap stick comedy than romance. Boy was I wrong! It was HOT...still had some slap stick, but still a solid romance. No stupid couple drama.

Awesome epilogue!

After being buried in the In Death series for weeks, finally decided to take a breather from all the death and murders.

This was an enjoyable read. The antics with the h and her best friend were funny. And I love the idea of busting cheaters. I am all for it. The h bluntness was part of her personality but I thought it was inappropriate sometimes. But her Mom running a prayer circle for her was hilarious.

I love the way the H love her. He was all alpha male and "don't look at my woman attitude". And if this line makes me a sap, then I am one. "My mission in life is to make you happy, and I take that job very seriously."

Audible: Narrators - Holden Still and Kate Mitchell
This duo did an amazing job on these characters. The accents were spot on and so much fun to listen to. Each narrator brought so much life to this story I hated when the book ended. I also believe this book would not have made as much of an impact on me as it did without the narration.

I loved this book so much. It was fun and flirty and had some especially hilarious scenes that made me burst out loud with laughter. Emerson was such a great heroine and Walker fell for her hard from the very beginning. But this wasn’t over the top insta, it was just fall in love in a wonderful non-drama manner with lots of friends and great times. Of course, there is some outside drama having to do with both their jobs but they worked through their issues by discussing it like adults even if Walker did want to protect Emmie from…everything. He was a possessive, protective, jealous hero but again not crazy jealous, just “don’t think about her like that” jealous.
This is a definite must read, especially if you enjoy low angst. It just had everything a sweet, steamy, romantic book should. Can’t love this one hard enough.

This is the first time I have ready anything by this author and she is definitely on my radar now! I thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of this book! I started reading it and I looked up and it’s 12:45 am! Time just slipped away!

This book has all the makings of a great romantic comedy! Emerson is a strong feisty heroine that is clumsy and has a hot temper! She is gorgeous, smart and hilarious! Her best friend Maren is brilliant with computers and she is an absolute riot! Together with their posse, there is always trouble on the horizon and cases to solve! Vagina Vigilantes to the rescue!

Walker Scott is the new detective in town and he is catching to eye of all the ladies, but he’s not interested until he locks eyes with Emerson at a bar. The encounter was brief but intense. They have another encounter at the police station and he takes over her case and the adventure begins! Walker is drop dead gorgeous, a supreme alpha male that makes you swoon! He is a romantic dirty talker and he is head over heels for Emerson.

The story is well written, so I didn’t have any problems with fast pace of their relationship. It just worked! They just worked! They had their issues but what fun it was to watch as things unfolded! As I said earlier this book has all the makings of a great romantic comedy. It was funny, sweet, dirty, sexy, and I adored the characters. All of them!

If you want a fast paced, hilarious, sweet, sexy read, then give this book a try! It’s terrific!

***FULL REVIEW POSTED***

I had the privilege of reading Walker and Emi's story early, and it was absolutely amazing…it’s not a typical Ahren Sanders’ story, but that shouldn’t dissuade readers from one-clicking it because whether Sanders writes an angsty drama or a smexy comedy, her character development and intriguing story lines are what keep readers coming back to her stories time and time again.

Walker Scott will have a multitude of readers claiming him as their favorite book boyfriend because he’s one fantastic hero; he’s an alpha male to his core, but he also knows when to be sweet, always listening to what Emi needs and absorbing the things she says about her hopes and dreams in order to make them come true. He’s a man who isn't afraid to claim the woman he has wanted from his very first glimpse of her, regardless of how many warnings Walker receives about the sassy vixen’s attitude and others’ ‘a bit of a handful’ remarks. He’s EVERYTHING Emi could wish for, and there’s not a time in the story where I ever disliked his actions, even if they were a bit over the top at times…Sanders makes readers perfectly aware of Walker’s dominant and controlling personality, so there’s no surprises when he exerts those characteristics throughout Trimesters Anonymous.

Emi is one feisty heroine who keeps everyone around her on their toes because she's prone to raise holy hell when something riles her. She’s definitely a free and independent spirit who is not only a quick thinker, but she also has both street sense and common sense, even though sometimes she gets herself in trouble because she acts without thinking. She’s a passionate woman - one who loathes and loves to the extreme and that idea is displayed numerous times throughout her story. Emi's relationship and bond with her best friend, Maren, is an important facet of the story, and it's their connection and their ability to work together for a common cause that has them moonlighting as 'vagina vigilantes’, and their ‘cases’ definitely place them into some sticky situations - ones that will have readers laughing out loud as well as feeling a bit disturbed by what Emi and Maren encounter.

The chemistry between Walker and Emi sizzles from their first interaction, and it's easy to see that they've found their 'one' in one another because every look, every touch, every dirty and sweet word only brings them closer and more connected. Ahren Sanders does a fantastic job in developing Walker and Emi's relationship, and even though everything seems to happen in warp speed, it fits their personalities and the idea that once a person knows who they want to be with, there's no sense of delaying what will make them happy and loved, and it’s crystal clear that what they’ve found in each other is everything they never knew they wanted and needed to feel whole.
Trixsters Anonymous is a sweet, sassy, and steamy read that will have readers laughing, smiling, and wishing they had their own Walker Scott; there are quite a few subplots amidst Emi and Walker’s main plot line, but none of them distract from the central story; in fact, they feed into it, showing a variety of sides to their personalities and proving just how much they add to one another’s lives.

OMG!!! This book NEEDS to become a series. There wasn't one thing about this book that I didn't like, it had everything! Suspense, TONS of humor, a great couple, and great friends. If you have followed my reviews you'll know that I am a HUGE fan of Ahren Sanders and this book is a perfect reason why. Ahren knows her way around a good story, whether she is trying to reach in and gut your soul or making you laugh so hard you are doubled over she succeeds. This story had me doubled over in fits of laughter quite a few times but there was one time that she had me biting my nails in anticipation on what was happening.

Trixters Anonymous is the latest standalone by Ahren Sanders. It doesn't connect with any of her previous books and I loved every second of this story!

Emerson Baker is the local hothead/spitfire/best friend I always wanted. She's perpetually single and doesn't quite mind it. During a run-in at the local police station she meets Walker Scott and her life changes as she knows it.

"You are who you are, and he seems to like your version of trouble."

Walker Scott is ex-Army and newly appointed detective of the local police department. Not looking for a relationship and comfortable in his current bachelor status, he takes one look at Emi and knows he'll never find another girl like her.

"Never has a woman gotten to me from only one look – until her."

I. Loved. This. Book. Loved it! There's something really special about Ahren Sanders writing and it needs to be read by the masses! She's got such a great way of writing her characters that you can't help but relate to them and fall in love throughout the chapters.

"How much can a girl take before she breaks down with so much love and happiness that it shatters her heart into a million pieces?"

Trixters is SO funny and heartwarming. I couldn't help but laugh and just keep turning the page. Trixters is angst-free and super fun without any real fallout between between our main characters. Emi and her best friend Maren start a fantastic business while she's learning the ropes of being in a relationship with super hot alpha Walker and I repeat, I loved every word!

I found Trixsters anonymous alright. I didn't get the feels. I liked the heroine and her best friend. They had a great dynamic. I enjoyed their secret business of exposing cheating philandering significant others. The small town they live in seems super lame with their penchant for gossip and obsessive behaviour with her love life. The hero is someone I didn't feel strongly for. He came across like a man who says "my way or the high way". It felt like at times he had priorities which outranked her. The heroine has a really bubbly personality and by contrast he doesn't bounce of her enthusiasm or banter too much. It's more he finds her amusing but doesn't engage or get involved with that spark. I know some heros are that kind of alpha, but I wanted the teasing and uncomfortableness you feel at the flirting stage to come through.

4.5 stars rounded up.
Fun and sweet!
MCs get together very fast (@25%) and I'm usually bored with stories with ista-love plots but this time I enjoyed reading about them facing life together and getting their relashionship to work while the heroine gets in trouble with her "trixter anonymous" project.
After all that happens...their falling in love so quickly didn't seems that absurd XD
No OW/OM drama, funny situations, perfect hero, super sweet romance...
Glad I jumped on this book right away ;D

Ps: While investigating cheating husbands and wives, the "trixter" witness their sexual exapades...all of them explicitly described.
It didn't bother me but my friend Alex (click on the name for her review) didn't enjoy it so...be warned ;P

I cannot express how much I loved this book. Trixsters Anonymous by Ahren Sanders was such a delightful read! I found it sweet, fun and so sexy. I finished reading it and was left feeling happy, but honestly I felt this way all the way through.

Emerson Baker had quite the reputation in her town. She was the spitfire who had her mother running a daily prayer circle. Could she be impulsive? Yes, but all because she was passionate about what she believed in and those she loved. So after helping her best friend out of a bad situation, they decide to start their own business and help others in the same situation.

Emi, was feisty and full of sass, with a dash of attitude. She was also hot-headed, loyal, sweet, strong and confident. There was nothing not to like about her. She was determined, independent and confident in herself. She knew what people thought of her and just went with the flow. She was so likeable. I want friends like her and Maren in my life.

I loved Walker Scott. He was such a strong, loyal and determined man who was sexy, possessive and all alpha male. There was nothing not to love about this man. He was warned about the spitfire Emi Baker, but nothing could keep him away. The local detective was smart and good at his job. Emi’s secret would not be secret for long!

After starting Trixsters Anonymous, Maren and Emi begin helping those who believe their significant other is cheating. But this also means getting into some hilarious and risky situations. But they got this. Then Emi meets Walker and all bets are off. Their attraction is instant and strong. They are so good together. But how long could she keep her moonlighting job a secret?

I absolutely loved this story. There was no relationship drama. Emi and Walker were so good together. Their friends and family were a hoot and I loved them. I loved all their interaction and banter. This story was funny and sweet and had me feeling happy. Walker is working one of his most important cases and dangers lurk everywhere. But nothing is more important to him than Emi and her happiness.

This was such a great story. It was so refreshing reading about two characters that were confident in themselves and simply got each other. Even with all their craziness and possessiveness. They were just good together. This was a great read, with characters you will love and a feel-good happy story.

TRIXSTERS ANONYMOUS is the first book of Ahren Sanders I’ve read and I won’t lie, it was the cover that drew me in. So hot!!!

I quite liked Emi, who is smart, funny and friendly. Despite the blurb and how she was described in the book, I really didn’t find her over-dramatic at all. Instead I thought she was a force to be reckoned with, and in a good way. Thanks mainly to Emi and her BFF, Maren, there’s plenty of humor in the story, and I absolutely loved the aliases they gave each other when they were on their stakeouts. When trying to catch cheaters, they did put themselves in risky situations, but they were smart and tried to go into every situation with all their bases covered. It didn’t always work, but at no point did I think they were too stupid to live. The only thing about her that disappointed me was that she turned into a weeping mess with Walker, which was a huge about-face from her otherwise strong personality.

I might be in the minority here, but I wasn’t a big fan of Walker. I liked that he knew early on that Emi was someone special; someone he knew he’d happily spend the rest of his life with. What I didn’t like about him was how controlling he was, and there’s really no other word to describe him. When a woman can’t even leave town for a weekend with her girlfriends without her boyfriend freaking out, tracking down her location and joining her without her permission, something’s not right. Some women might find his behavior swoon-worthy, but I honestly found his possessive caveman routine more disturbing than alpha.

TRIXSTERS ANONYMOUS is told in dual POVs and, at this point, appears to be a stand-alone. I did find it to be a very long read that did drag at times, but overall I enjoyed the story and loved the HEA we got.

5 Stars!

Ahren Sanders is a must read author in romance. She's one author that needs to be talked about more... and loved on more. Her words, journeys, and characters are brilliantly done in a relatable, addicting, and unforgettable way.

Trixsters Anonymous is her latest standalone novel and her best to date in my opinion... sexy, edgy, flirty, fun, laugh out loud, and engaging. Sanders takes her readers on a journey that will steal your heart and have you swooning... laughing... and smiling in uncontrollable ways.

Emi and Walker were perfect *sigh* .... everything about them was just right. I loved these two from the start and their story was so so good! Great banter and sizzling sparks... that chemistry and magnetic pull... it was smoking hot!

Don't expect to stop once you start.... I was glued to the this book once it landed on my kindle and I didn't come up for air until those pages quit turning.

If you like sexy, fun, captivating with dashes of the feels and heavy romance then this author is definitely for you.

I highly recommend this book.

5 SMOOCHES!

This is my second time reading the very talented Ahren Sanders, and the second time I’ve been impressed with her writing. I’ve been devouring romantic comedies this year, and Trixsters Anonymous is an absolutely fabulous one. From the first page, I was swept off my feet with a story that was funny, light-hearted and seriously sexy, but it was the dash of suspense and a fun female friendship that I enjoyed nearly as much as the romance that pushed this story from a great read into one that was special and memorable.

I loved the heroine, Emerson Baker. She was fiery and feisty and one of the most fun-to-read heroines I’ve ever read. Known to her friends as Emi, she’s a bit of a handful and is regularly accused of being overly dramatic. Her antics are widely known, and her mother has formed a prayer circle dedicated to Emi just for this reason. But it’s her latest venture with her best friend, Maren, that has the potential to eclipse all of her past escapades.

Walker Scott is all man. A former Army MP and current Charleston detective, he’s bossy yet incredibly patient. Not one to back down from a challenge, he was exactly the kind of man who could handle the notorious spit-fire. It also didn’t hurt that he was the drop-dead gorgeous, sexy, swoony alpha-male of Emi’s dreams. Instant attraction may have fast tracked this relationship, but with chemistry that leapt off the page, their pairing was a perfect blend of smoking hot passion and made-for-each-other, once-in-a-lifetime compatibility.

Emi’s latest venture, a top-secret business with Maren, has the potential to eclipse all of her past escapades. Their mysterious infidelity investigation service, Trixsters Anonymous, provides their clients with irrefutable confirmation when a significant others’ unfaithfulness is suspected. Maren and Emi are really good at it, too, using disguises and high-tech gadgets to capture the evidence they need. But despite all their careful planning to remain unidentified, they never planned on Walker Scott.

Laugh-out-loud humor reminiscent of a modern-day Lucy and Ethel and a sweet, sultry southern romance as steamy as a summer day in Charleston form a solid foundation in this uniquely entertaining romcom. But it was the threads of suspense along with a surprise second romance and a cast of interesting side characters that Sanders wove expertly into the fabric of the plot that added the depth and dimension to round out an already fantastic story into the page-turning pleasure that has secured a spot on my 2017 top favorites list. Five smooches from me for Trixsters Anonymous by Ahren Sanders.

**4.5 Sassy Trixster Stars**

Oh my gosh. This book was too much, in a good way. Cheaters beware, the Trixsters will find you. I loved this book from page one to the last one. It was sucked in and not let go. I have to say though even though our leads are Emerson “Emi” (Trixster 1) and Walker, I loved the best friend and fellow Trixster Maren. They had me laughing out loud and just simply enjoying this fun read. It was an easy read. From start to finish I really did not know what I was going to get.

I love love, love Walker. He was a hot alpha oh and did I tell you, he’s a cop with tattoos. Oh, holy hot hell he will make you squeal and pant and just simply love him. Emi is known as the town drama girl. Everyone in the town knows how she is except Walker since he is a bit new. All the women in town love him, but he pays them no mind. In walks, Emi and his world tilts on its axis. He pays attention. Their first chance meeting was perfect for them. I adored the sassy and sweet Emi. She was an awesome lead. She was strong and didn't take anything from anyone. She can put you in your place like no other and simply put Walker gets her. He knows when to push and shove and when to let things go.

This book was amazing, well written and worth a re-read from me. The pace was perfect and the secondary characters, you will love just as much. They are just as important in this story as Emi and Walker. They are just cohesive. I simply just had so much fun reading this story. I couldn’t put it down as I said. Such a solid, well-rounded story.

So join Emi and Walker along with the significant partners in crime a.k.a. Their best friends for a smooth, sexy, sassy, laugh out loud ride. I am positive you will thoroughly enjoy it like I did.

Title: Trixters Anonymous
Author: Ahren Sanders
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5/5

What a brilliant, hilarious well written book this was, I honestly laughed that much I cried infact I hold my hands up and admit that there was indeed some very unladylike snorting too.

One leading lady who's filled with sass and keeps those around her on their toes and a hero that's a hot sexy detective who's 100% alpha and totally possessive when it comes to his woman, add in some great secondary characters and you've got a belter of a book.

Emi and Walker are the perfect couple, from the moment they first locked eyes it was clear that they shared an intense connection and were meant to be together, yes it was one of those insta-lust/love relationships that moved at warp speed but it was that well written everything just flowed alongs nicely well as nice as could be when there was "vagina vigilantes" on the loose and a whole host of bad guys added to the mix, come and join these two and their friends on their crazy adventures that will have you laughing, blushing and biting your nails, trust me this is one book you "NEED" to read this year.

This book was fun and sweet and romantic. The H is definitely OTT jealous-possessive and soooo romantic in a manly man way. He made this book awesome. I loved the progress of their relationship and their togetherness is so believable

So why 4 stars? Coz I found it a tad too long with all the unnecessary antics of the heroine. The H/h were good together but there were just so many scenes that could have been left out I think.

No cheating, no ow/om drama, no billionaires here. Just a man in uniform who goes mine-mine-mine when he sees the love of his life.

Things I liked about this book- there were some real fun parts with good banter and I always enjoy it when there’s mystery/suspense themes mixed in with my romance book. There naughty scenes were pretty sizzling too...

Things I didn’t like - I’m not a big fan of Alpha H’s and this H was very Alpha - but if that’s your thing then you’ll love this book... Many parts of the book were just too OTT for my taste too, it wasn’t eye roll worthy but still enough for me to deduct stars.. Lastly the H and his guy friends are all big into hunting - which I DESPISE!! How anyone could enjoy killing beautiful animals for fun is beyond me... the thought of it makes me ill and I could never find a man attractive who hunts so that aspect of the book was a big turn off for me, so hence the 3 stars...

Fingers crossed my next book will bring me out of my book funk because sadly this book didn’t do it for me :/
