    I researched many microphones for several weeks before finally making my decision to get the AKG P420. Ultimately, I chose this mic for the following reasons: 1. AKG is a trusted brand 2. This mic has three polar pattern settings, making it versatile for different recording options 3. Price was within the range I wanted to spend 4. Excellent reviews from multiple sources 5. Nice case included (always good to have). The sound quality is what I would expect from AKG, which is always great. I am very happy with this purchase, the build quality, sound, and flexibility of the switchable polar patterns. If you're considering your options like I was, you can't go wrong with this one. The only thing I would do differently, is I likely would not get the option that includes the pop filter. The one included is not bad, but I prefer one that doesn't have the extending arm. So, I purchased another type separately.
