I love the books in the Timeless Series. Barefoot at Midnight is a great book and I loved it. The love story between Libby and Law is emotionally charged. Libby and Law are both interested in the Toasted Pelican, the bar was run by Law's late friend Jake Petersen. On his death bed, Jake promised the Toasted Pelican to Law. He goes to take ownership only to discover the locks are changed and a holding company is running the bar, Liberty Management. Libby thinks that she and her brother, Sam are the rightful heirs to Toasted Pelican. Their mother Donna told them that Jake was their Dad. Law needed Jake's will to prove his ownership and Libby and Sam need Jake's DNA to prove Jake was their father. Law and Libby are reunited at the Mimosa High All School Reunion. Libby and Law begin to work together and they get closer. Libby has sworn off of sex and is celibate. But working so close to Law has put a strain on that commitment. I love all the unexpected plot twists, always my favorite part of a Roxanne St Claire book. The book ends with a happily ever after. The romance between Libby and Law is red hot! Roxanne St. Clair has done it again, she's delivered another red hot silver fox romance.

This was a great addition to this series with Law finally finding someone to love and be loved in return which Libby truly did. Law was always told by his parents that it was his fault that his older brother died and stopped loving him. He believed it even though he was ten years old and his brother was sixteen and drunk when he fell overboard and drowned. So he spent his life punishing himself with booze until Jake, the owner of the Pelican bar took him under his wing and saved him. He went to culinary school and found his niche in life which gave him purpose to stay straight and sober. Libby was at their reunion and always had a crush on Law but they never connected. She went on to marry two men that did not truly love her so now she did not trust any man. How these two damaged people learned to love and trust again is an amazing, hot romantic story and proved silver foxes are still sexy. It was nice reading a love story about two people that were in their forties and still capable of finding happiness. I highly recommend this series and am looking forward to reading the next story in Barefoot Bay centering on silver foxes.

I am an absolutely huge fan of Roxanne's Barefoot Bay books - all of them - but I am especially loving her Timeless series and her Silver Fox heroes - maybe because I'm in that "silver" zone myself (or would be, if not for my hairdresser)! I have to say, though, early on in this one I was thinking... "gee I don't know... I really don't even LIKE Libby, and I don't want Law to be attracted to her, much less more than that!...not sure I'm going to like this..."

But wow, as I kept reading, the twists kept coming, and somewhere along the way I realized I really liked BOTH Libby and Law, and I could see how they brought out the best in each other. They both had demons, and they helped each other get rid of them! Other characters too were really well developed and sometimes surprising me. Talk about being careful of first impressions! :-)

I have to call this a truly satisfying read - wrenching my heart at times, laughing out loud at others, and fanning my face at still others. No one writes lightly suspenseful romance quite like Roxanne, and I really, really enjoyed this book. Can't wait for more in this fabulous series!

This is a wonderful story of Law and Libby who reconnect at a high school reunion.
When Jake's health gets bad, he makes clear is for Law to run the Toasted Pelican in Mimosa Key. It's because of this Law runs reconnects with Libby Chesterfield. He doesn't know what she's doing at the bar. He hopes she can help him get some answers to some questions.
He discovers things aren't so great.

Libby hadn't seen Law since the met up at the reunion. Now he's back and at the Toasted Pelican. She doesn't understand all the questions. It seems like they both have an interest in the place. Her and her brother, but Law thinks otherwise.

I love this story and the setting. Since I live in Florida it reminds me of so many place I know and I felt right at home. If you want to enjoy two people, falling in love in beautiful tropical Florida. Then this is the book and series for you. There is nothing better than kick of your shoes and fall in love with Barefoot At Midnight!

Barefoot Bay Timeless series with hunky and hot looking, successful heroes in their prime. For clarity, let's say in their 40's.
These guys are truly prime. They've got life experiences, a career path, and can handle themselves in stressful situations. Unless it's "love". They learn fast though.
This is the third in this particular series of slightly older heroes. It can be read on its own.

I really love this contemporary romance series and in particular this book. While this hero is a little less in possession of "things", he knows what he wants.
I loved the "man in the mirror" conversation. A man's true insight to his character. Very powerful.
And of course, the love they find is inspiring.

This is truly one of my go-to authors for a good emotional love story.
