BAREFOOT AT MOONRISE is a standalone read with a HEA. It is a bit sexy in parts but you will be happy about it. These two were in love in high school. Their relationship ended because she was from a wealthy family and he was from a poor one. When his father was killed on the job, Ken's life changed forever. He blamed her father's company for his father's death.

Twenty-five years later they meet at a school reunion. He has grieved for that relationship even though he married and divorced. He wants to apologize to her for the way things ended. Beth has got out from under her father's thumb and now runs her own company. She is independent and wants to stay that way. She married and divorced but she never got over Kenny.

This story is GREAT. I LOVE older main characters and these two were 40. Not old but not 20 either. They still have a bit of chemistry between them and things heat up at the reunion. She plans on it being a one-night stand. However, two months later she gets the surprise of her life, news that will change everything.

The journey to a HEA is not an easy one for these two. He is all in but a hatred he can't let go of is eating away at his heart. Until he can get beyond it there cannot be an "us". It is a great story. I loved it. I cried at the end. Not from sadness but from the moving dialogue between Ken and his bitter enemy. I definitely recommend this story. It is one you don't want to miss.

Barefoot at Moonrise is the story of Ken Cavanaugh, a hot silver fox firefighter and Beth Endicott, a real estate house flipper. They had been high school sweethearts, but something horrible led them apart. They reunite twenty five years later at the Mimosa Key All School Class Reunion. Beth tried avoiding Ken throughout the entire planning of the reunion and the reunion itself. Ken knows this is his last chance to talk to Beth. They meet in a yellow cabana on the beach and sparks fly. What follows is a bittersweet love story of the one who got away and who may get away again,because Ken hates Beth's father because he blames him in the death of his own father twenty five years ago. Ken and Beth face many obstacles as they try to reconnect with each other. Secrets kept for twenty five years are revealed and it changes everything for Ken and Beth. I loved the book and the characters are amazing. Once again Roxanne has done it again.

Ken wants to make this long-term and maybe even permanent. Unfortunately there is still her father to deal with and the past keeps interfering.

A contemporary romance that deals with many different life issues. Exactly what you'd expect from a couple older than 20-something. I loved the established career and life feel. This is a couple that knows themselves pretty well and they learn more about each other as their lives become entangled. Emotional bumps that are so rewarding in the end.

I love Roxanne's books because they are not cliffhangers and she weaves a story that keeps you intrigued. I would encourage you to read any of her books, she never disappoints.

This is the second book in this trilogy with Ken getting a second chance with the love of his life Beth. He loved her twenty five years ago and the class reunion brought them back together. He was determined to apologize for the way he had broken things off between them after the death of his father. They made up after the reunion and in a cabana even did the nasty without protection because she had her tubes tied and thought she could not get pregnant. One month later she found out differently and now had to confront him and let him know about their baby. The story of how they handle her pregnancy and his acceptance and forgiveness of her father. As it turns out he actually had to thank him instead. They worked together to renovate a house she bought so that she would not do strenuous work that might hurt their baby. Coincidentally, he actually saved her father's life before he could thank him which was the greatest thank you of all. They got their happily ever after and more at the end. This was a great addition to this trilogy and I am looking forward to Law's story that will be the conclusion to this set. It is nice to read love stories about silver foxes and their loves because that is more relatable to me.

They need to overcome a huge obstacle to move forward and that huge obstacle is still present twenty five years later as well as some new developments with their renewed relationship that are cause for concern. In order for Ken and Beth to make the choice for a very happy ending, secrets need to be revealed and feelings need to be acknowledged and accepted. It's a very emotional read.
