SOME SECRETS ARE WORTH FIGHTING FOR Back on Earth, Ariana is caught in a dangerous crossfire between clandestine rebel organization Clementia and the power-hungry government. Refusing to divulge the location of the secret information entrusted to her by her late father, she desperately tries to bargain for her Mom, Lily, and Cal's rescue. She's fighting a losing battle, and the clock is ticking. Presented with evidence of her fiancé Cal's apparent betrayal, she loyally defends him despite her concerns. With her emotions in turmoil, matters become even more complicated as she grows closer to her ex-boyfriend Zane. When the stakes are raised, a succession of shocking revelations rocks her world, setting her on a path that will not only change her destiny but the fate of humanity. Confronted by a memory so abhorrent comes a truth she would do anything to forget. But some things just can't be undone. WILL I ENJOY THIS BOOK? True Calling is an enthralling young adult science fiction fantasy romance series that has earned rave reviews from readers who enjoyed popular series like The Hunger Games, Divergent, Matched, The Selection, The 100, 1984, and it's even been favorably compared to the movie Elysium. Set between two vastly different worlds (utopian vs. dystopian) and told from two different perspectives, this series will appeal to readers who enjoy any of the following genres: Teen and Young Adult, Science Fiction, Dystopian, Romance, Fantasy, Paranormal or Supernatural, Urban Fantasy. This is a fully completed series and I recommend reading it in the following order to maximize reading enjoyment: True Calling #1 Lovestruck #1.5 Beyond Reach #2 Light of a Thousand Stars #2.5 Destiny Rising #3 Full Series bundle also available. I will say I wish they put all the story in one book and quit having the same fights over and over and that our main young lady learn to quit telling everyone everything her father ask her keep quite about as did zane.I got up and quit book three times I got so mad at her blabbing .this girl does not know how keep her trap shut.if you not read book i of true calling you not understand his one and just let you know you have get at ;least two more plus a bonus one call love story from writer this book 2 book so be ready to look for book 3 as this leaving you hanging with lots secrets to unfold and not all are going be happy ones if you love cal with our girl.I think they going be brother and sister or halfs at least by end of this book.also wish the writer kept it to less fights and less about everyone ails .way to much of both.

This book had a lot of action which I loved. It was a roller coaster ride. Author Siobhan has a great descriptive writing style that is easy to follow and flows really well. She has the right balance between showing verses telling. This review contains spoilers.

One thing I liked throughout this series, is how Ari stays true to her character. She has a strong will and I love that she knows what she wants and sticks to it.
I'm team Cal, all the way. I prefer brunette's, but Cal is one of the rare blonde's that I've made an exception for. Cal is charming and so full of life. He's also funny and kind of a bad boy, so you can't help but fall for him.
So when I 1st started this novel, I was on pins and needles. Then I was taken aback that the government tried to turn Cal against Ari. It reminded me of Mocking Jay, but it was refreshing the way the situation played out.

Part 2 with Zane was both good and frustrating at the same time. I liked the sequence of events and the conflict that happened in Part 2. I was appalled Zane ran and told about Ari's pregnancy. Regardless if he only thought that the government was behind it. He definitely should have talked with Ari 1st. It would have saved a lot of heartache. I also was frustrated with Zane's inner turmoil. Maybe I'm just bias when it comes to men, but I wanted Zane to grow a pair. Being in his head was depressing. And if I'd had a gun, I would have blown my head off.
I get it, I really do. But I don't have a lot of tolerance for guys acting like girls. It was very unfair what happened to him and Ari. But sometimes you have to accept things and try to move on. Ari told him so many times that she loved Cal and that's who she wanted. In one scene I remember saying, "Damn!" out loud. Ari was blatantly honest with him. But Zane was still hoping for a miracle. I would have preferred if Zane had not pined over Ari so much and attempted to move on. However, being in Zane's head did allow me to get to know him better. I actually think he is a good guy. He makes some bad calls, but had good intention, and his heart was in the right place.

Author Siobhan is the queen of cliff hangers. I have all the patience of 5 seconds, so I only like a cliff hanger if the next book is available. Praise Sonar the next installment was ready because I think
I would have lost it.
The ending of this novel was action packed. It left me dying to know how it was going to end. Love triangles are my favorite kind of romance, if they are done well. This triangle is by far one of my favorites. I can't wait to read the final installment.

I hate love triangles with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns. However, my friend Brandy adores them--the more messed up, the better. But even she had a problem with one of the triangle members in this book. Her exact words were, "Maybe I'm just biased when it comes to men, but I wanted Zane to grow a pair. Being in his head was depressing. And if I'd had a gun, I would have blown my head off." So when she wanted to do a buddy read, I was naturally hesitant.

The reason I'm saying all this is because it was surreal how we switched places. Her view was the one I should have taken. But I had no problems with any of the characters in this book. Are they perfect? No, far from it. They all made mistakes. But eventually they all told the truth to one another.

Zane withheld information that could have helped Cal recover; Cal inadvertently got Zane captured on Novo. In my book that makes them even. Ari was even keeping secrets. I even have some sympathy for Isla. At least they all learn from their mistakes and move on.

Brandy thought Zane was always whining about Ari. I thought he was upset about her, but his reactions didn't bother me. In fact, I thought he had some of the funniest lines in the whole book. Like this one:

Ari-- "We don't understand how, or why, we're connected in that way. But we were...close friends before I moved to Novo, so maybe that has something to do with it."
Zane-- Oh, to hell with this. "She's the love of my life. I think that's probably got more to do with it."
For Zane's sake, it's a good thing Cal was locked away in a jail cell at the time that little tidbit was revealed.

There's plenty of fighting/action for all you fans of that, but for me, the personal drama was more interesting.

Cal-loves Ari, no psyhic bond. Ari-loves Cal. Zane-has psychic bond, loves Ari. Ari has psychic bond with Zane but (view spoiler) and only loves him as a friend. Isla loves Zane, has no psychic bond. Zane only loves Ari.

I don't think I suddenly woke and decided that love triangles were great. More likely, the author managed to create characters that I can sympathize with and root for. I have a favorite, but that doesn't mean I want the other guy to be miserable.

One warning ... Don't expect any sleep while reading this book! I was literally enthralled and physically could not put it down.
I would recommend this for YA 15+ as there are some adult themes that may be more suited to mature readers however, it is definitely PG rated in all other respects.

Again another brilliant book by Siobhan Davis. This book was amazing and I found myself still reading at 4am.

This book picks up where True Calling leaves off. Ari is back on Earth with the rebels, but her beloved mother and sister, and her fiancée and love Cal remain trapped on Novo. Ari seems to constantly butt heads with the rebel leader and you quickly get the sense that not all is as it seems. It becomes hard to tell who Ari should trust.

You get to know the supporting characters much better in this book. There were time when I just wanted to hug Ben, who appeared to have a bond with Ari, Zane and Cal;
or cry for young Decon, Ari's little brother and Mel, Cal's sister.

I really did feel for Zane in this book. He, unlike Ari, has his memories and remembers everything. His feelings remain unchanged from the time Ari left, and he does try hard to protect Ari from any and everything in this book. He almost gave up everything and everyone to please Ari, but, that being said, I sometimes felt like he pushed Ari to hard in a effort to claim her love.

Siobhan Davis really did deliver with this book, and I could not put it down. The only down side for me was there wasn't enough Cal!

Again I am simply enthralled with this book. There was much more depth to this one. Getting to know the characters on a deeper level makes a book more interesting in my opinion. However one of the only things that bothered me about it was Ariana's constant going on about Cal. I understand it from her being 17 but at the same time, I didn't feel it needed to be through the whole book. Some of the things in the book, I guessed even before the author wrote them, I think I guessed it before the first book ended. Leaving where she did at the end of this book, is driving me insane waiting for the last book to come out. Overall I have been thoroughly enjoying this series and would recommend it to anyone.

Wow. I'm gobsmacked after reading this second installment in the True Calling series. I really loved the first book but this one blows it out of the water. There was not a dull moment in the whole book and I flew through it, unable to put it down. It's fast paced, packed full of action and swoony romance and so intriguing - there were so many twists and turns! That ending killed me. Thankfully Siobhan has brought out a novella to bridge the gap before book 3 so I'm going to get stuck into that now. A fab series. A must read if you love YA sci-fi dystopian stories.

Belongs into Young Adult sci-fi but I had fun reading it. Just ignore some of the inconsistencies in science and romance.
Relax and read.
