Excellent book. Wong is one of my favorite authors and I love hearing about his experiences and ideas on the game. While this book is a few decades old, it's still very useful to today's counter/blackjack player, and a very pleasant read. A must read for anyone interested in the game of blackjack, this book is one of the classics. If you haven't already, I'd recommend following this book up with Wong's "Blackjack Secrets" another great read.

This book has many insights that you can't find online. For example, I tried to find a full-indices modified strategy table, but had hard time finding it online, and this book has it.

Professional Blackjack by Stanford Wong is one of the best blackjack books ever written with a great explanation and charts for both the most widely used counting system in the world in Hi-Lo and probably the most powerful or very close to the most powerful systems ever devised in the halves count, a must have for any serious player for sure.

This is a good book. It's definitely not for a beginner, and, if you chose to be a professional Blackjack player, this would be your bible. The only knock I can give it, is it may be to advanced for most people. I am a recreational player, a good one, simply looking to up my game. I am glad I purchased this book, yes, I am currently back in school and now, I actually do understand the statistical analysis he lays out. Going back to thinking about years of playing, and the outcome, semi-knowing what I was doing, his findings and deviations definitely seem spot on.

Personally, I was initially into card counting, I'm fine playing basic or an advanced version of basic strategy, which he does go over in this book; however, I think I might study some of these card counting techniques and maybe even try them out.

Anyone who gave this a bad review, most likely simply didn't understand it. There is a lot of math and stats, but you by no means to be a mathematician to understand it, I sure as hell am not! If you understand basic Bschool stats and probabilities, this will make sense to you. If you're a Wall Street trader it will make A LOT of sense to you. If you truly do desire to become a pro blackjack player (which I don't), then you should definitely purchase this book.

awesome book if you want to learn how to count cards and blackjack professionally

My friend, who is a professional gambler, recommended this book to me. Per him, this was one of the best books he got to learn the foundation of playing blackjack. Thus, I had very high expectation when I got this book. It did give a very detailed examples of how to master blackjack. However, it was so 'dry' to a point that I think my statistics textbook is more interesting than this book. For a professional player, this might be a great book for reference. But, if you are just like me as a casual player, there might be some other more interesting books to learn about blackjack.

Enjoyable read. Very technical in some parts. The testimonials of players really adds value to the book. If you enjoy blackjack and are looking improve your game this is a must have.

"Stanford Wong" is one of the greatest authors on the subject. Reading this book is much easier with background knowledge first. A complete beginner could learn from this book. However, this is a more advanced guide in my view. If you use high low you should read this book at least 3 times.
