[A] spectacular new series. -- Library Journal

From the Back Cover

The 19th century is drawing to a close.
But for one woman, the future is just beginning to open up.

Hannah Cutler's former life seems a million miles away--at least, most of the time it does. After being forced into prostitution in order to survive, Hannah sees a chance to finally start over when she and her baby son are invited to live at Culdee Creek Ranch.

But not everyone at the ranch is happy to help Hannah begin anew. To Devlin MacKay, her presence is a reminder of his own guilty past. And when Devlin's wife is struck with a deadly illness, he finds himself in close quarters with Hannah. Can they ever truly let go of their pasts? Or will unforgiven sins rob them of a bright future?

The second book in the Brides of Culdee Creek series,
Woman of Grace continues the MacKay family saga with a tale of the transforming power of forgiveness in the face of human weakness.

About Kathleen Morgan

Kathleen was born in sunny Long Beach, California, one of four daughters of a career Army officer.

As a former Army nurse with a master's degree in counseling, she has lived in Germany, Korea, Maryland, Texas, Virginia, Louisiana, Florida, Washington, D.C., Alabama, California, and Colorado.

She is married to a retired Army helicopter pilot and is the mother of two sons-one deceased- and stepmother to another son and a daughter, both of whom have been very busy making her a grandmother.

In her free time, Kathleen likes to quilt, play the Celtic harp, and be companion and caretaker to an aging English cocker spaniel. She is also a companion and the wifely caretaker to her husband, who is not quite so aged :)

Kathleen the Author

Kathleen began her career writing contemporary romances and soon moved to historical and futuristic romances. She sold her first book, a futuristic romance, in April 1990 while stationed in Korea as an Army nurse. Additional romances soon followed, until she had sold a total of fifteen books in the general market, establishing a loyal readership along the way.

Since that time, she has received numerous awards for her work, including a Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice award and Career Achievement award, and The Literary Times award for Literary Excellence in the Field of Romantic Fiction. She was also a Romance Writers of America RITA finalist.

Kathleen now focuses her writing talents in the area of inspirational fiction, offering readers characters who struggle to redefine their growing faith in everyday life.

I really enjoyed this book even more so than the first in the series. I loved the way it told a story but intertwined great messages which help you to look to ways you might improve or overcome things in your personal life. At the same time it does not come across as being preachy or overwhelm and distract from the storyline. A great book/story with some equally great messages. Loved it :)

For what its worth the Brides of Culdee Creek is the first complete series that I have read. That says a lot because I devour so many books and, believe you me, there are many series where I stop at Book 1 even though I may profess to enjoy the book. For me its hard to dive into a book two only to be disappointed and I often doubt that the author can recreate the magic of the first book.
Well for some reason I exercised a little faith with this series and boy was I happy. Woman of Grace which is Book 2 in the series was as different, unique and special as Book 1. (Although I must say that Abby and Connor's story will forever hold a special place in my heart:)

After reading Francine River's
Redeeming Love  I truly didn't know if any other story about the redemption of a prostitute would have been quite as engaging. Yet for it all Kathleen Morgan pulls it off expertly and while Hannah does bear a few similarities to Francine's Angel, the stories are quite different.

STORY SYNOPSIS:
Abby and Connor from Book 1 are happily married and expecting a baby. Due to a strange twist of fate Devlin is forced to depend on Hannah, the "whore" who he slept with during a rocky part of his marriage. Devlin uses every opportunity he gets to castigate Hannah for when he sees her, his transgression is ever before him and while his truly beautiful wife may have accepted that he was unfaithful there is no way that she needs to know that Hannah was the specific prostitute he slept with. Hannah loves and cares for Ella (Devlin's wife) and their kids and when Ella falls ill and Abby is unable to step in due to her own pregnancy, Hannah offers her aid.

There is also the issue of Evan, Connor's son, who some people think Hannah is stringing along. Marrying the very willing Evan would make life very stable for Hannah for as Evan's wife she would inherit Culdee Creek and financial security for her and her baby boy would be sure.
Forgiveness, humility and courage are major themes in this fantastic book as an unlikely but truly genuine romance develops between a couple of the main characters. Book 2 is truly worth a read!

P.S. While reading Book 2 go ahead and get Book 3 and Book 4. I have and their reviews are posted as well:)

For those who prefer Christian based stories this is a good series. It offers romance tastefully without being sexually explicit. The story line is good, although it may be a little slow sometimes making a point, it is still good enough to keep you interested in reading further. The characters are believable, presenting real life issues without a lot of melodrama.

I was kept interested enough to read the sequels and enjoyed reading more about the characters and where they went with their lives. It is a good read.

Considering the subject matter of the book, I thought the author did a really good job in keeping it clean and wholesome. You couldn't help but love Hannah and feel sorry for Devlin. Throughout the book, I could see the two falling in love.

I thought the twist at the end was excellent as well. Devlin came to save Hannah, but...well, you'll just have to read it to see!

Though some thought these first two books were a lot alike, I tended to disagree. Connor had a lot more hatred to overcome and was just a really rough and tough guy. I saw Devlin as ore of a teddy bear who'd made a few mistakes. He came around a lot faster than Connor did. In fact, reading this second book and how nice Connor was was almost frightening. He'd done a 360 degree turn. I think Ms. Morgan should have left him a bit rough...

Enjoyed every minute of it. I like how she does character building and each book focuses on one of the McKay’s. I also love the spirituality in the book. This first she is demonstrating GOD’s Love and how it covers a multitude of sin, and our feeling of lack of unworthiness.

I'm admittedly very picky with the ending of my books. I had hoped the ending to this one would be worthy considering the reviews. Awww... I apparently expect too much quality in what I pay for and don't just accept lazy writing........

I'm all for forgiveness and redemption in fact I was waiting for that in the book but to have him utter the words that he loved her and gave himself to Christ was all it took for her to trust him after all the abusive words he constantly through at her was a bit too easy...and a very lazy ending. I think it's silly writers have the woman always think to themselves how they know the man will never love them and that they are tired of the constant abuse and that they won't accept it any longer but then once the man says the magic words they want to hear they turn to jelly and lose their smarts and blindly accept them. Then the man just miraculously does a turnaround in behavior and comes the charming hero at the EPILOGUE of the story. For over 400 pages of the kindle story he's a complete jerk and then the last ONE page of the story he's the amazing hero. Awwww how sweeeeeeeeeeet. Why bother wasting space in a book of the woman's musings when THEY DON'T MEAN ANYTHING????????? Just don't bother with it since it will never amount to anything in the story.

Like I said I'm glad he got redemption but come on even Christ doesn't say there won't be consequences and there should've been more consequence for his bad behavior towards her that never ever seemed to be resolved tot he very end. He didn't even have to fight for her!!!!!!!

Writers needs to stop being so lazy when it comes to the ending of their books and actually make the ending worthy of the rest of the entire book. The author puts more effort on keeping the couple apart and never bothers to put any of that effort to the reunion.

I like Kathleen Morgans writing style, she takes you front and center in the life of her characters and she never wavers from the story at gives a great insight into the life of a woman in the 1800s. God is first and foremost in the book which I like, yet sometimes is a bit preachy at times. I find this with all of Kathleen's books but it few and far between so I don't mind too much. I would recommend all of her books don't stop at the Culdee creek series! I certainly couldn't put the books down.

This book I choose because I was so keen to follow up on Daughter of Joy (Brides of Culdee Creek, Book 1): This series of books turned out to be extremely enjoyable about a trial and tribulations that befell the family of Culdee Creek. The story line has a religious theme running through it which was done subtle way that made the reader think but would have been a very central to Family life at Culdee Creek. The story line was such a intriguing read that I couldn't put down. I was so keen to read on that I purchased the complete series
"A beautiful story of strong family relationships, love. . . . A very memorable read .
