Most of this story is true; the rest of it could so easily have been. Boat Troop are sent up river into war-torn Sierra Leone on a mission to secure a vital ore mine. While the men battle their way up river past vicious hippos and poisonous snakes, political events are rapidly overtaking the city-based HQ. As the balance of power swings between government and rebels, HMG wavers in its intentions. Johnny "Two Combs" Howard is a bestselling author of three books based on his experiences in the Regiment. Following his military career, John worked in a variety of leadership and management roles in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa. He assisted in the successful release of sixteen expatriate hostages in Sierra Leone and was a team leader of the Families' Security Detail for a prominent Middle Eastern Ambassador to the United States.
