I was glad to find this available on Amazon and for the price I was able to purchase it at. Unable to locate this on any other on-line retailer (B.A.M., Barnes & Noble, etc.). Arrived in fine condition and was as good as any other book by Quinnell.

This was about the 5th AJ Quinnell book Ive read, like the others it was a great story with great writing and characters.
Its a little dated, but still great. the only issue I had with is was I thought towards the end he could have gone more into detail with the story. I find (like most of his other books) the first three quaters of the book is someone planing to get revenge on someone who had wronged them, and the last 5-20 pages is them actually going through with it. Other than that, I loved it, but I still think MAN ON FIRE is his best work so far.
Look For the new book commin out sometime in 2005 !!!

Good, but not great. This books main problem is that the writing is exhorbantly long-winded in the first part of the book, as he unexcitely drones on and on about the main character's past. Its not that the characters aren't deep and well drawn out, it's just that I didn't appreciate the way they were drawn out. It made for boring reading. However, I'm very glad that I resisted the urge to put the book down. Once the action starts, this book becomes a fantastic work of exciting international espionage. Quinnell is a master at giving the reader an inside look at the covert spy game. Quinnell is becoming one of my favorite authors, and I still have no clue why his books aren't in circulation.

A very dramatic story by one of my favourite authors. For anyone thinking of buying it make a note that it is also the same book listed as Snap Shot. This wasn't a problem for me as The Snap is a hardback and my copy of Snap Shot was an older paperback. I enjoyed re-reading it in a more pristine form. Many thanks.
