May McGoldrick, Nik James, and Jan Coffey are pen names for USA Today bestselling authors Nikoo Kafi and Jim McGoldrick. Together, they have crafted over fifty fast-paced, conflict-filled historical, contemporary, and Western novels, and two works of nonfiction.

Nikoo’s education and training was in engineering. She worked in robotics and submarine shipbuilding. Before earning a PhD in sixteenth-century Scottish and English literature, Jim pursued a hundred and one jobs, including a decade in submarine construction.

Storytellers at heart, Nikoo and Jim were always searching for careers that gave them time for both family and writing. Then, after thirteen years of marriage, they recognized each other’s creative strengths. Nikoo is all about characters and feeling. Jim is about action and sense of place. Their first attempt in writing fiction together produced their award-winning novel, The Thistle and the Rose. Since then, their stories have touched the hearts and minds of millions of readers all over the world. Their work has been translated into over a dozen languages and counting.

Nikoo and Jim are four-time Rita Finalists and the winners of numerous awards for their writing, including the Daphne DeMaurier Award for Excellence, the Romantic Times Magazine Reviewers’ Choice Award, three NJRW Golden Leaf Awards, two Holt Medallions, and the Connecticut Press Club Award for Best Fiction.

The authors make their home in California.

This author always writes well and this book did not disappoint. I enjoyed the connections with the first two books in the series and the reunion of family at the end.

A trilogy that is worth your time to read.

This last one is a fine story with a continuity error and a few wrong words.

In chapter 12 we are told it is the advent season. This is confusing, because in the prior book, Laura married William Ross just before Christmas. And this can't be prior or simultaneous, as Adrianne has already received the letter telling of her sister's marriage.

The mystery of the treasure and various characters' relationships to it is interesting. There is a satisfying ending, with explanations leading to it. Well done! Loved the MC's, and many supporting characters.

What a finish to great series! Has everything you need in a book, suspense, laughter, intrigue, romance! Was only sad that seemed character’s story didn’t seem to end but after reading several of this authors books know they will return later

Pretty sure I've read them all now. I did try to read them in order. I like her (their) work. There's a plot, of course they fall in love. I mean it is romance after all. The phrases seem accurate and authentic for the time period. It is best to read them in order. I love the lineage of the families they bring into their work. There's some sex, not much. If I remember correctly they could be easily skipped if that is offensive to the reader. Most of their writing focuses on things other than sex. I like the way they paint the attire of the people so the characters feel real. They aren't always in their finest clothing and the use of their descriptives helps to set an image of simple dress when that would be normal. I think their books all focus on the interpersonal relationships within the family and sometimes the breakdowns within the families. I suggest reading all of the May McGoldrick books!

This was a great conclusion to the trilogy although it probably wouldn't have worked as a stand alone book. The heroine is first seen in a cage suspended over the castle walls and manages to escape; if that is your sort of feisty adventurous protagonist, this story is for you. The hero is also likeable and well drawn, with a personality and some secrets of his own and the eventual conclusion is well thought out and ties up the loose ends. Great read.

In the early days of Henry VIII, a family inherits the sacred responsibility of guarding a priceless relic dubbed the Treasure of Tiberius. Protecting the treasure is at the front of everyone's mind, but nothing is as it seems. As scheming and treachery lead to the father's death, the mother hides in the lowlands while sending her three daughters, each with a portion of the map to the treasure, to distant locations in the Highlands and Islands. Unbeknownst to the girls, a prospective husband awaits at each point of shelter, but conflict and misunderstanding fly before the couples recognize their attraction.

I found the quick jumping back and forth between characters distracting in this volume. A longer time in each branch of the story would have been less distracting.

Will three young women and their highly respected mother be able to safeguard the treasure which remains a complete mystery to them? Will conflict-fraught attractions find solid ground? And finally, will the Treasure of Tiberius reveal itself at last, or be stolen by greedy men who hope to use it to gain wealth and power?

The McGoldricks could have done better than offer three copycat romances: three stunning, remarkable daughters, 3 astonishingly handsome and capable men tangle with a dangerous and unknown enemy. While this is not their best effort, each book will keep you up into the wee hours.

1.likable hero and heroine, 2. great supporting characters, 3.great plot 4. interesting, well described setting, 5.dialog witty ,in keeping with period 6. Je n'sais quoi ( I don't know what)- that special something that keeps you interested. These three books cover all 6 points, and get 6/5 ratings from me. I'll read books through that are 5/5, but i live in, and usually read in one night the 6/5s.May McGoldrick's The Dreamer,The Enchantress, The Firebrand-all set in 1535 Scotland/England are addictive.

Loved the other books in this series but I just could not like the heroine in this one. Will romance authors please find a way to write a confident woman without making her look like an idiot. It seems these headstrong women always have to prove how independent they are by doing stupid things that endanger everyone around them while arguing that it is their right as a free thinking woman! Really? I would love to read one of these novels where the heroine defines her independence by demonstrating that she is a thoughtful and capable human being. Also, I don't think feisty is the same thing as being just plain thoughtless and self centered with no remorse (or a passing thought like "gee, I guess I shouldn't have done that"). Please, someone, write a book with an intelligent heroine who does not derive her confidence by being constantly headstrong and downright idiotic. Finally, I know a lot of women who are sweet and personable and it does not preclude them from being strong and independent. It is insulting that time after time these heroines are depicted as angry and obnoxious women as if that was the only way a woman demonstrate strength.

Another fabulous addition to the series. Loved the way it was a great story in it's own right but elements of past characters and stories were added in. If you are looking for romance, history, humour and action you can't go far wrong with this author.

A good historical series set in Medievil Britain. I personally hate sex scenes in books so that was several pages flipped over in each book. A really good story doesn't need the extra words for padding out! But that's just my opinion. Good setting and location. I did enjoy the 3 in the series.
