Vivi Angelino and her brother Zach own their own PI firm, Guardian Angelinos. In order to build the business, Vivi takes on an assignment in Hollywood as a popular starlet's double (Vivi's image mirrors the actress) in order to catch a serial killer that has been assassinating actresses. Upon Vivi taking this assignment, the FBI has learned, through greater evidence, that this is a much bigger case than they officially thought it was. Thus, enters straight-laced Special FBI agent Colton Lang. Now begins the electrifying forces that will set the pages on fire...Vivi and Colt working the case together. Though both have known each other for some time, they never really worked together, but they must now in order to keep Vivi alive (since she is the murder's decoy).

Suspense, romance, amusement and so much action makes for one great read. This is my first R. St. Claire novel and all I can say is that this is one well-written, absolutely fabulous, wild adventure. Wow! The characters are truly what make this tale so explosive...and not to mention the anticipation for one of the most erogenous collaboration between Vivi and Colt, and what a sexually-charged chemistry they have together. You just want to slink right into the book and be the heroine just so you could have a slice of Colt! This is a very entertaining action-suspense tale with a lovely steamy romance. Highly recommend!

Okay, I know it's early yet, the year's not even half over. But I stand by it--any list of this year's best romances is going to have to include Face of Danger. It's that good. The tension, the action, the thrill-ride of suspense--but most of all, the CHARACTERS. I've loved Vivi Angelino since she first appeared in Edge of Sight, and Colton Lang is the perfect foil for her. He's uptight, by-the-book while Vivi is the definition of renegade. They strike sparks immediately, and their sexual attraction and emotional connection is the jet fuel that propels Face of Danger into the stratosphere.

I've always valued St. Claire's ability to combine fast-paced suspense with sizzling chemistry and heart-clenching romance, but she's really outdone herself with this one. I laughed, I cried, I was terrified, and I felt completely overjoyed when the happily-ever-after finally arrived. If you've never read Roxanne St. Claire before, do yourself a favor and start here. You won't look back!

I've read all of Ms St Claire's books and this series has all of the ingredients to be right up there but it doesn't work for me. I really enjoyed Edge of Sight but Shiver of Fear drove me crazy: the way the story unfolded and what the characters got up to was so daft. But I thought it was maybe a one-off so I'd try again. Unfortunately same feelings all over again though.

In summary, an easy read with lots of hot action but I expected more....
